One of the groups sorting out water systems went to a place and said "We're not going to build this for you. We're going to teach you how to build it."
The reason for this: If the people build it themselves, they have a good idea how to fix it when it goes wrong.

I live in Kenya and I usually try my best to donate to any charity I can. People here aren’t so bad off, but people who live in the village really struggle. Most schools in the city are actually really good, the villages are where y’all should donate.

For being a Kenyan this has really opened my eyes, as a country both the people for voting poorly and the leaders for being so greedy we are failing more lives than I had thought. Hi, i'm from Kenya, nice video but At 3:49, you say there are no screws to be found in Kenya. That's actually not true, there are countless hardware stores in my country that sell basic items like screws. Perhaps the individuals working on the desks misguided you.
Yeah i know, that is misinformation to funnel cash into a certain ppls direction. Its ridiculous to think that in 2020 an African state has zero screw making facilities anywhere in the land. Im not sure why ppl talk like that, dont get me wrong, this is wonderful, and i think showing someone how to hunt instead of giving them meat is a gift of great magnitudes. The children schooling and learning as much as possible will challange them and give them opportunities to make their own local area better in future. So contribution in the children is the smartest things, and i wish the best for them
