- WE DID IT! We raised enough to build an ENTIRE SCHOOL in Africa! Thank you so much. And thank you to the WhatsInside Family for putting this in motion. People from all over the world donated into our 'wedding present' and with many small donations we are able to accomplish big things. i understand it very well.. as I am African who grew up in very poor places, our school used to have visitors from countries in Europe to donate some things. We were strictly told by teachers before they arrived that we should cheer everything they say or do and that they will be watching us closely. The next morning at school assembly they would call out names of people who didn't do so visibly or enthusiastically and they would get 3 or sometimes 4 hard strokes on the bum..
Seeing these kids, I can definitely say they weren't forced, its the same with the adults too. I have since come to the conclusion that they all love singing and dancing as this is something I have noticed in Nigerian done all the time there's even even the smallest good news

I think it's amazing that _JerryRigEverything_ used his time, resources, and influence to create an entire school in Africa. I think that educating children will benefit everyone. Too many kids in less fortunate nations go uneducated for a variety of reasons even if they want to go to school and better themselves and to be able to be a contributing member of society and his/her family. In that regard, I think it's great when people who have the means & resources do something amazing like this.
Hopefully their government can help its own people out like this instead of just taken away all the nation's wealth and keeping it for themselves instead of doing the right thing and doing things for its own people.
I think that even though they live in less than ideal conditions, it's great that these people welcomed you with such open arms and care. Though to be fair they probably felt that being very hospitable is the least they could do since you built them an entire school to better the lives of the children here.
