Selling it at a 200% profit and we’re supposed to treat it like charity lol
@@flavioa6351exactly, personally, if I was in his position, I'd be keeping it rather than selling it for that huge profit, I'd forego that profit to keep something I drove my new wife home from our wedding, regardless of what kinda profit I'd be "missing out on"....but that's me.... @@1HeatWalk Might temporarily stop the noise until the grease is squished out, but it will not replace the worn out material missing from the bushing.
I'm confident when you open the door it's sagging just a little bit, this is typical of poorly engineered vehicles, especially at such low mileage. The fact that Tesla is no longer supporting these vehicles says all you need to know, it's e-waste "Limited production edition".
this would be a perfect opportunity for Doug and his cars & bids, plus a video of Doug checking the car out.

Lotus are such pioneers in chassis and body design that their designs are used from 1st gen Tesla Roadster to agressively fast Hennessey Venom GT.
The Roadster has very little in common with the Elise, including completely different sub frames.
@@truantraythe sub frame is the same built on the same line it's just modified somewhat
The extruded bonded subframe has a big advantage in that relatively large modifications can take place very rapidly as long as it still fits on the jig
With the roadster the side members are bent in a similar way to Evora instead of curved as in Elise/Exige
The top edge is also cut down more to give easer access to the cabin
It has no petrol tank bay looking at the video here you can see the front part remains as this is the rear of the cabin
but most of it isn't there as it's where the battery now goes
At the top there's an extra plate to secure that front part
The car is longer this would've been done with a different rear subframe but mounting points to the main subframe would remain the same
Moving forwards from the dash panel forward it looks to very similar indeed
There's likely to be a hole or two which is/isn't there on the lotus cars meaning Tesla get to say that part is different but in reality they're basically the same part
There's a number of pictures of both online look for yourself they are very very similar
@@truantraybro 1st gen roadster is basically an ev swapped lotus elise
@@truantray Cool so different subframe, same chassis. Exactly the same as the Delorean using the Lotus Esprit chassis.

My brother broke his neck in 2020, and is now a quadriplegic, wheel chairs are SO expensive for no reason, his light weight was $20,000. I am so happy you're getting into that business. Thank you.
Guessing its the regulatory stuff which meant to protect people but keeps entry to competition harder so most smaller businesses won't even attempt jumping in.
@@i_i8924 This is not the reason for the price of wheelchairs. the people who own chair companies are fucking assholes who love to overcharge for every little thing, and also if something breaks due to their own QA issues then they take as long as they can to get it fixed.
oh and for the price you have to pay for a custom chair (which is a requirement for any long term use. Not having the right size and pads will hurt your body) they still make you wait months if not years to get it made.
i think all the viewers expected it to be the same car he put in space, not the same model. jerry prob knew that too, but you know, clicks.
Yeah. I am on alerts and had to check on my tv instantly, if elon had collaborated with him.. is a bit misleading, be safe on the word play as thats a flag option now, for haters and people who do it for news

I got to ride in an original Tesla Roadster at an EV event. The seating position is so low to the ground. It felt like being in a go-kart. It had a great sense of speed.
Its a Lotus, it's primary use is to be driven around race tracks.
@@someone28 it is not a lotus
@@joeyscleaninglady2877it's a Lotus
@@joeyscleaninglady2877 The early ones came right off the Lotus production line complete and ready to drive, I visited the factory before the car was launched.
On July 11, 2005, Tesla and British sports car maker Lotus entered an agreement about products and services based on the Lotus Elise, where Lotus provided advice on designing and developing a vehicle as well as producing partly assembled vehicles,[50] and amended in 2009,[51] helped with basic chassis development. The Roadster has a parts overlap of roughly 6% with the Lotus Elise,[52] a 2-inch-longer wheelbase, and a slightly stiffer chassis according to Eberhard.[53] Tesla's designers chose to construct the body panels using resin transfer molded carbon fiber composite to minimize weight; this choice makes the Roadster one of the least expensive cars with an entirely carbon fiber skin.
What an amazing person to sell something like that to just go back into helping others. Need more people like this in the world with opportunity.

The interior of this is the simplicity and minimalism that makes the most sense for EVs. the big screens can take a hike.
the screens are what make it simple. When you have dials and knobs that is not minimalism.
When I saw this interior, I immediately thought "wow that's extremely different from the minimalist interior of my tesla model 3"

Wow, I'm amazed at learning that Christopher Nolan used the sound of the og Tesla Roadster for BatMobile. Too cool!!
Unfortunately he also used the sound of a Ford Explorer to make Batman's voice impossible to understand. Since then, he's become even more keen on unintelligible dialogue. His sound mixing is famously despicable.

Zack has made it apparent that it should be a standard from now on that anyone who uses the "Its not you, its me" statement to let someone/something go, should have it be followed with a 10 minute video explanation
It’s crazy to think that someone took a bunch of lotuses and put batteries into it and sold them as a “new” car. Same with Hennessy.
Lotus eager for some extra bags
@@MitchelvdPutten I guess I would have done the same!
They did have to modify the subframe and build them these new ones
And many of the cars were built at Hethal (lotus)
We all gotta start somewhere. Koenigsegg put an LS V8 from a corvette into his first car.
Yes, it's completely bonkers that a startup collaborated with an existing manufacturer to create a new product that previously didn't exist, that's really unusual. They didn't buy complete cars and strip them out, they worked with them. What's actually crazy to think is that Lotus still haven't released an electric car of their own, their first production one is coming this year and it seems to be the Eletre they'll produce first which is an SUV for some reason, you know, what Lotus are known for* rather than a sports car.
*In the UK, their reputation is they spend most of their life in the mechanics garage, and that's certainly the experience of anyone I ever met who owned one. Hopefully they've got better in the last fifteen years but petrol cars are incredibly unreliable so I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't.

The Roadster was like the iPhone 2G, Kinda rough around the edges but greatly succeeded in what it stood for and accomplished

just wow
Well, this was very unexpected 😂
Loved this! They make those inflatable lumbar supports universal if that peaked anyone's interest.
I assume you can get the JDEMO upgrade so you can fast charge it, also there is the CAN adapters to connect to standard level 2. I drove a roadster in 2012, I swore no mater what I was going to get a Tesla one day. In 2018 I bought my first car which I still own, the Tesla model 3.
You should get a teardown skin for it before you sell it 😂
Still as gorgeous as the day it came off the assembly line and the proceeds are going to a great cause.
Would hope so after living in a ac climate control garage. But the door bushings being worn out is a sign of low quality parts. Probably lots more wrong with the tesla cart.
@@Dat_Sun as Elon freely admits, they may have been "the iconic car" that made Tesla what it is today but there was a lot of lessons learnt while building that model that ensured the later models were a more polished and reliable experience.
@@hot_wheelz That has not been the case. Have you looked at the welds underneath of a Tesla? It's china grade construction, sad times we live in when this mass production e waste is looked at as the future when it's junk.
