Some people dont undurstand that Yolanda's voice is the most powerful of them all, she was belting the whole fking time.... she never used "head voice" or "mixed voice" , she was purely singing with the stomach and chest..

I think Dolly’s has a charm, but Yolanda sounds so good here - my fave of all the performances. Her voice is so rich and warm. Love it.

I think Leona sounded the best. Kelly technically did everything perfectly. However, she wasn't really putting much effort into it, so it didn't have that dramatic kick that makes the song so iconic. My 2nd favourite was Yolanda. Over the top in certain parts for sure, but the awesome parts were truly spectacular.
Kelly's clip is from That's My Jam. She also sang it live at the ACM Awards. Go check out that clip.
This song is one of the favorite Filipino belters, that's why they sang it better.

The fact that everyone is aiming for a version of Whitney’s says it all
Dolly sang it best imo but I prefer the emotion in the song and how she almost feels like she is going to break down because her love is still so raw. However Whitney is equal to dolly because of the power but hers sounds more like a “I’m not over you but I’ll be okay”. Everyone else who copies Whitney’s version tend to try to match the power, the range and the technique but they miss out and forget about the emotion and meaning behind the words. Jennifer Hudson and Yolanda Adams come a close joint second because they do include emotion and make it their own also.
But for me Dolly just comes out on top. Nobody can truly mean the words to a song than those who wrote it.

Ooohhhh Christina’s was HORRIBLE. Kelly’s was VERY creditable. Ariana didn’t finish the song. Leona was VERY good but also VERY sharp at the end. Dolly pioneered it, Whitney PERFECTED it, and JHud OWNED it by paying homage to the queen. I can never hear this song and not think of Whitney Houston.
Ariana sang it on SNL, and yet there's no full clip of her singing the whole song there. Makes me wish she'd do a full cover this year.
Of course Ariana, Kelly, and J-Huds did it justice. However, the singer who did it the absolute MOST justice, from my point of view, is the late, great, talented, and angelic.....Christina Grimmie. I am NOT kidding. When she did the climax, I IMMEDIATELY burst into TEARS!!! Go listen to her cover!!!
