Good video. I just got one of these this week and I think your review is pretty accurate. I do find the pocket warmers pretty useless - I can barely feel any heat in them at all. The front/back heaters are quite good. I have to turn them down to medium because the highest setting is often too hot. It would be nice if the collar was heated. The picture on the box shows a lovely orange glow coming out of the collar which might lead you to believe the collar is heated but it isn't. The overall construction is very good quality. I also see that a new flat battery pack is available for these jackets. It's an extra $100 but it could be worth it. The 3AH battery pack that ships with the jacket is pretty clunky.
I can’t believe you have the vacuum just sitting on the shelf! I keep waiting for it to be available anywhere close to where I live. Wanna trade? The Milwaukee emblem is also in the middle of the back so everyone knows you have on a Milwaukee heated coat when you go out in public. Nice job reviewing the coat. You finally earned a thumbs up from me
One thing I noticed wearing a heavy sweatshirt you're really not going to feel the heat so you want to wear something thin so you can feel the heat. Your the best brother
I bought one of the ToughShell jackets this winter, I’m in Australia and where I live doesn’t get as cold as parts of the US. I got the jacket for when I ride my bike to work. I ridden in temps around 10 degrees C (50 degrees F) and it was great. Cut out the wind chill from sitting at 110kmh (70mph). Biggest issue is the arms get cold. Ran a 2.5aH high output, and got around 2.5-3 hours on high
@@ToolReviewZoneLol, it's definitely a step up from letting your girlfriend talk into the clowns head, ha! Hey great video man! I was searching high and low trying to find a battery for this type of jacket. A friend gave me this without a battery. I had no clue what the battery looked like. Online I was finding mostly M12 battery for power tools. You ended my months long quest to find the right battery. I couldn't find any videos like the one you did here. Finally... Damn! You talked like you were just bullshitting with one of your friends. Perfectly described. Now I know how this jacket works. The one problem is the female end on my jacket that plugs into the battery? I only have the one plug on the end of the cord, not two like yours. Now I don't know if the battery that YOU have will work for my one plug cord. Hope I explained this right. The cord from my jacket only has one plug on the end of it. I hope this makes sense, weed'll do that to ya. Hey thanks for this I hope I can at least find the correct battery for this jacket. Looks like the quest may continue to find the right battery.
@@mattlyles2419The hoodie fits different than the jackets, I can only speak for the hoodie. I went one size down and glad I did. I'm normally a men's med/large and I went large the first hoodie and medium the second hoodie
Great question. Definitely fits better than the previous sizes. I spoke with them at the Pipeline event about this, and they stated that these are much more precise than last gens
With the old ones you can just buy an adapter and as long as you use a Power Bank that can do 12v, you can use all sorts of sizes and shapes to power the jackets. I'm sure a simple adapter from USB-C to this double barrel will work too. Just check the power bank small writing on the side, newer ones should be able to do it. Should show something like USB output; 5V-3A, 9V-2.2A, 12V-1.5A.
You are right about the " stifness" and bad battery placement on earlier gen, i have one and use it rarely based on these problems, good idea, needs more development...and i find that it is not feeling warm as a winter jacket should even with the heat being on, it has to be touching the body to transfer the heat...and the collar is soooo stiff!
Whoa that’s crazy talk. You’re acting like he they’ve got some sort of tiny battery system outside the one+ line! If only they did have a miniature battery system that would work for this. It could a rechargeable lithium ion battery. Powered through and delivery power by USB. Alas, some kind of pocket sized usb lithium battery is but a pipe dream.
I have both the Milwaukee heated sweater and the Milwaukee heated jacket and In colder temperatures, if you wear the Milwaukee sweater under the Milwaukee heated jacket and run them both at the same time, they work A LOT better to keep you warm but, I do believe both the sweater and the jacket should have a capability to be a lot warmer. They both are definitely better than non heated clothing. I do think that the heated sweater and the jacket is over priced though due to their capabilities not being able to get warmer.
Really thinking of buying one of these when I walk every morning even in the winter in Pennsylvania when it’s like 10 degrees out. Should help, I’m used to wearing 3 hoodies, 2 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of gloves, face mask. Etc
I've got a m12 zipper hoodie that I wear for farm work and pest control in the UK, and it works great without rhe heat turned on but when i do want some heat in minus temps out hunting i put a massive padded jacket on to keep the heat in. Worst thing is where the battery sits. Not sure I'd buy the jacket to replace the hoodie
Clint, when you finally come to Ireland to buy me that pint you’ve promised me for full on two years now, you are definitely doing the robot in my local 🤣 🗿
@eoghanfla6343 haha, I'll break it down brother. I actually spoke with my wife the other day saying how much I want to vacation there. Got my DNA test back and 50% Irish blood running through these veins brother. I will 100% give you a heads up if I cross the pond brother
@@ToolReviewZone we are claiming the best 50%! You guys would love it here, well your wife would as the tool shops are terrible so you’d have to go site seeing instead 😀 Look up the wild Atlantic way, I’m on part of that, amazing views and pubs.
Get the m12 vest it's way better if you're using it to layer, I throw that over my thermal layer and throw another jacket over it and I only need it on low. Sleeves aren't heated anyway so better to invest in a jacket that has good ones to go over.
I cannot get either of my new flat style batteries to work with my new jacket. Yes both are the new two prong style. Yes both are synced to the app and blue-toothed, Did I get two crappy flat style batteries
@@ToolReviewZoneyeah it initially lit up the jacket then noda. Same with the other flat I bought. Both do charge Electronics but just don’t work on the jacket. Oddly enough I thought I read the newer flat battery does work on older jackets but the App part don’t work. I own several older jackets and vest but still no Bueno on them either.
It seems like the flat battery with blue tooth is only compatible with the Hexon model. If you're using it with other jackets, that might be why it's not working. Double-check the compatibility requirements and consider reaching out to the manufacturer for more details.
I have the new axis jacket. I'm 5-9 185lbs. The medium is a little snug and the large is way too big. Also. It just doesn't get warm? It's not defective because i replaced it just to be sure. If you're indoors you can feel the heat. But once I'm outside i feel nothing. I have Milwaukee heated hoodies and they are great. Shame. Waste of money.
I just got one today and honestly I’ll just have to stick with the tools because this jacket is not it. Hardly any heat coming in and for what, 200 bucks? I’ll stick to my 20 dollar electric hand warmers.
The older gen jackets got way warmer and heated up way faster then the new ones. I prefer my old one over my new gen one. Also u want ANY heated coats to fit snug and close to your body, if its lose or big on you or if u layer ur gear you will NEVER feel the heat from the coat.

Are they as warm as the new carhartt with out heat on just wearing it out? Im gonna get one or the other.

Do you know where I can get an alternative battery that is compatible with this jacket? The 12v is too bulky in the pocket
So I must’ve missed it in the video but can I wash the jacket (of course take the battery out)
You can wash, look up washing directions im lazy atm.
Fashionable!
Do they make one without the light on the front
Not the heated version they don't
RC batteries last longer with adapters JS
When will we get a Ryobi or Milwaukee cordless razor so I can shave my face with my 18-volt battery?

Reason I'm watching this video because my Milwaukee jacket doesn't fit me anymore because I put on weight and now it looks like spandex on me. 😅

Ok but how knife and bullet resistant is the battery pocket? I don’t want to be shot in the battery and then be lithium fired.
Well, it really depends on the ammo someone is using. What type of ballistic would you like me to test on this while wearing 🤔
