I fully expected the narrator of this tale to reach the end of that line, only to be met by the business end of a laspistol lol. Amazing tale and rendition of the Daemons of the Warp aswell as the Grey Knights.. I looove everything about the Warp, psykers n daemons. How it always present just behind the veil, oppressive and hungry. Aching to claw its way in.. And the Grey Knights for being so anathema to them, they get burned by the mere presence and have no power over these Daemonhunters. I loved your take on this and will surely revisit this video many times. Your channel is already one of the greats. :) Hoping for more Grey Knights/Daemon videos in the future! Your fan, and gentle listener.
Thank you for sharing your love of the Grey KNights! Always epic and amazing to read. :) They are magnificent, aren't they? It makes me uncomfortable when I am only a fan myself and never want any putting on pedestals? I learn as much from the comments section as anyone else does from me, I assure you. A band of brothers, we. :) This site is built on a team effort. Every comment, every discussion leads to greater content. Sorry to be a stick in the mud about it. (I was planning on having them all line up just to be burnt, but the Knights do save who they can. I thought slightly less grimdark ending would take the edge off a rather horrid tale. Hope you agree. But now i will never know if your proposal and my gut instinct were right. Curses. LOL)
Understood, loud and clear :) Apologies to the entire team, your work is massively appreciated. A band of brothers have a better ring to it, anyway. And I do agree on that final bit, was kind of nice actually not having the Knights look like genocidal bad guys again.. lol.
Years ago, back in middle school which must be almost 20 years now, I bought my first Warhammer 40k novel. It was simply called Grey Knights by Ben Counter. I read it in two days. I could hardly put it down. It was my first step into the grim, dark universe that was 40k. It is also the reason why the Grey Knights are still one of my favorite chapters. I only recently got into the modeling and game in the past few years but I greatly enjoy it. And you, Lord Baldermort, are amazing at giving these righteous Astartes a proper description. I only recently discovered your videos and I am now binging the hell out of them Thank you and keep up your amazing work.
Weirdly I’m slowly realizing that I would be extremely vulnerable to chaos corruption. I believe that if exposed to the events that you have described I would not only break but most likely completely give in. If my memory were not erased I would likely look back on the events with slowly emerging fondness. Yes I would be horrified at first, but I know myself. Late some nights I would think back on the rush of emotions. The pain. The pleasure. And wonder “was it truly that awful?” This would mix with the drudgery and despair of my normal life, especially in the war-hammer universe. (I suffer from depression and have realized that bi-polar disorder runs in my family. So it’s more than likely one of the main contributing factors) Fueled by a need to feel this way again I could see myself calling upon whatever beings caused this.
As a Grey Knights KT player this video receives my chapter approved rating. I do hope GW does something interesting with the Grey Knights like you speculate
@@trevorwall87 oh hell yeah dude I like that GK didn't just get the new space marine codex abilities and got a bunch of stuff to make them to feel more unique. I like the tides mechanic in particular
You captured exactly why I love Slaanesh the most of all the Chaos Gods. The worst part isn't the horror, the pain, or the revulsion. Not even close. The worst part of the entire experience is that _you like it._ That is why the Prince of Pleasure is so terrifying. Also, if Loken and Garro were founding members of the Grey Knights, doesn't that mean at least some Grey Knights have gene-seed originating from the Traitor Legions?
No, those of the Knights Errant had their gene seed changed. It's presumed it was overwritten by the code derived directly from the Emperor. The new progenoid glands also strengthened their will against Chaos. So technically but no. For example Janus was a son of Magnus who was infused with a chard of Magnus' soul to become Janus. That was loyalist from a traitor legion with a piece of his traitor Primarch's soul infused into his own. And he was the first commander of the Grey Kights. Loyalty to The Emperor above all and incorruptiblity of purpose was FAR more important than parentage.
Holy crap, dear sir. I'm only 17 minutes in and I'm already floored by the magnificence of your writing. Never have I heard such haunting and mesmerizing descriptions of both slaaneshi demons, or the Grey Knights.
Your voice is like a poem in itself, you could put me to sleep just by reading a book of rules... I love your videos, your way of speaking and exposing us facts of this great universe !
21:52 The Imperium's hung by a thread so often that it doesn't really mean anything to me. My only concern with the Maledictum was that it was leading up to End Times 2.0 for 40K. I was relieved that what it signaled was new model ranges, and some controversial story advancement.
To a degree the culling of populations will not be neccesary anymore, none can deny Chaos, none can refute Chaos. It is now the duty of the Grey Knights to not only protect humanity. But to teach. And show the way forward.
My thanks for dozens of hours of incredible entertainment and also making me think about the emotions and people within the story rather than just the lore. Incredible work!
Grey Knights: Don't worry imperial citizens, we're here to save you! Imperial Citizens: Yay it's the Space Marines! Grey Knights: FROM HERESY!!! *charges up power swords* Imperial Citizens: OH NO IT'S THE SPACE MARINES!!!
Indubitably. Only the custards can even come close. But they are just the guard. The Knights are his spirit made into a mighty hammer. Thanks for listening. :)
The Grey knight are not to be remembered, they are to watch from the shadows and to react to any and all treats to humanity from the blight of the daemon-spawn
As a grey knight player i realy enjoyed this one and i have been thinking about the central question of the video alot. I think that they will not see their work as failed and close up shop. They will probably be pushes into the front lines of all battles were they are deemed neccesary.
Despite my ending, I would be mortified if they ever got cut from the universe. Their oaths mean they can never retire or quite. My ideal would be an expansion of their number and a far more aggressive visibility. I can only hope the PA gives them some love. Emperor knows they could do with some at the moment. Thanks for watching. :)

Finally! This is the channel I've been looking for for years! A gloriously narrated lore treasure trove!! Thank you for this! The only channel thats has been close to this level (in my humble opinion ) is ShoddyCast, whose older, narrated videos on the elderscrolls were wonderful :)
My Grey Knights are my most beloved army, and I've been slowly converting their bits into a more customized force whenever a particular model accomplishes something impressive on the tabletop. What started as a Combat Patrol and some cheapo used Terminator Squads are now THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE MOLTEN FANGS. The teeth of Titan open their battles by raining Nemesis Force swords across the hellscape they plan to cleanse, a gambit that has given them their name. They then use their immense psychic ability to whip these white hot blades and molten earth around the battlefield in a molten VORTEX OF DOOOOOOM as they surge forth. The in game build actually kinda ain't great, but they're extraordinarily fun, and even though they kinda get rekt in points, they can table even the sturdiest enemies.
Thanks a million, Skill. I really hope I can improve and get the quality and engagement even better. :) Hope you enjoy some of my other offerings. But don;t do the prognostications - the very earliest stuff. Wow. Tripe. :) Hope to see you on our next adventure. Lets hope I can get it done well. :)

Singing French Knights In the Middle Ages, Western France was known for it singing knights. The most famous group was a bunch of lancers from the town of Brittany. They were known as the Brittany Spears.
One correction. There is one chapter that is allowed to know the GK exist: the Space Wolves. At the end of the Months of Shame, after Grimnar killed the inquisitor Lord, & Bjorn told everyone to play nice, part of the agreement was that the Wolves would be allowed to know of the Grey Knights.
With the news that all of the Adeptus Astartes are to be combined into a single codex with a supplement for each chapter (no more codexes for dark angels, space wolves, etc.) I wonder what the future holds for them. They specifically did not mention the Grey Knights in the announcement, which tells me they'll still get their own book.

Thanks Azurfenix. I really hope you like some of my other stuff. :)
Hoping for more Grey Knights/Daemon videos in the future!
Your fan, and gentle listener.
Thank you for sharing your love of the Grey KNights! Always epic and amazing to read. :) They are magnificent, aren't they?
One teeny little thing - is it ok if we don't use the word fan - unless it is of the great game and setting? Its a thing. It makes me uncomfortable when I am only a fan myself and never want any putting on pedestals? I learn as much from the comments section as anyone else does from me, I assure you. A band of brothers, we. :)
This site is built on a team effort.
I can see you’re binging! Steady in old chap! :). Thank you!
And wonder “was it truly that awful?”
This would mix with the drudgery and despair of my normal life, especially in the war-hammer universe. (I suffer from depression and have realized that bi-polar disorder runs in my family. So it’s more than likely one of the main contributing factors)
Fueled by a need to feel this way again I could see myself calling upon whatever beings caused this.
Absolutely stellar introduction...and again your voice is grim dark but also soothing and relaxing. Amazing work.
As a Grey Knights KT player this video receives my chapter approved rating. I do hope GW does something interesting with the Grey Knights like you speculate
Don't we all! But they have stated that their numbers are swelling. I really hope we see something dynamic and fun for GK.
Thanks for listening! :)
I hope you are enjoying our new rules
Slaanesh is basically the chaos god of addiction.

3 years later and this still inspired me
Holy crap, dear sir.
23:08 this reading is incredible.
I've been a grey knight player for nearly 20 years now. I've only now found someone who does the lore justice. Thanks bud. Have a sub.
I didn't know I needed this in my life till last night. This is art, you capture the tone of the lore to perfection. Great job!
Wow, this has to be one of your best stories yet, you had me on the edge of my seat the whole time!
My thanks for dozens of hours of incredible entertainment and also making me think about the emotions and people within the story rather than just the lore. Incredible work!
Thank you brother.
*bows to brother Kinser*
Grey Knights: Don't worry imperial citizens, we're here to save you!
Imperial Citizens: Yay it's the Space Marines!
Grey Knights: FROM HERESY!!! *charges up power swords*
Imperial Citizens: OH NO IT'S THE SPACE MARINES!!!
The grey knights will forever be remembered as the Emperor's finest!
Hugo Siivonen oh, that’s goooood brother Silvonen. Wish I’d said that. :) :)
(laughs in wolf)
*Grumbles in Thunder Warrior*
@Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer ive been really enjoying your guides! really spot on on the exceptional warriors grey knights are!
I really liked this story! Your narration and energy really made this one of your best, thank you for your content.
@@baldermort yes they realy need some love by GW.
Question is if GW will ever let us out of the dog house, it has seemed for a long while as if the GK are being punished for the Wards sins
Dearest Baldermort. I truly love your narrations. Your guidance and teaching on Warhammer 40k Is like a soothing song in these dark times. Keep doing what you are doing.
The beginning and the end was just so grim dark. Great work I couldn’t stop listening and I think deep down we understand the protagonist or we’ve been there.
Thanks Wiley. I tried to get a more grimdark tale in this one. I wanted to show how the Grey Knights always arrive into a total sh*t storm whenever they are called. I thought it better to do it this way than just another lecture on their traits etc. Something 'seeing' is believing. :) I really am relieved that you liked my take on the protagonist of this tale. I have no real experience with writing for an audience outside of my RPG gangs, so was a bit nervous. Thank you. :)
Love your voiceovers you REALLY get into it. I could hear these videos all day long.
Grey knights are my favourite faction after the Necrons. This is great as they are now fight each other for the top spot. With the poor guard in third.
Also, Mr. Baldermot. I must humbly request that you start narrating Audio books. I wish to hear more of this voice and in some of my favorite stories I'd think you'd be a great reader for them and anything else in the sci-fi, grimdark, fantasy, and even some Romance books (no doubt).
Alas, they take a lot of work and I’ve never done anything like that. GW have their in-house crowd. Sorry. :(
I can't stop bingeing on these! Great work.
This is an awesome Warhammer 40K channel the amount of passion you put in your videos is amazing END QUOTE
Discovered your channel less than 72hrs ago. And I've been hooked ever since! Love how much emotion you pour into every single video! Plus your voice is so awesome and enhanced every line, every word. Like a cup of coffee served black, your voice resonates with POWER!!!! Deus Volt! Deus Volt!! Deus Volt!!!!
Great narration. Can't believe I just discovered this channel recently. Subscribed.
Thanks, Sole. I hope some of my other work is also to your liking. :)
Good god your stuff is so good and you have such intense talent for portraying this content!
Fantastic audio play @ the beginning of the video, very grim dark in that the guardsman who is waiting for the mind wipe is really about to be excecuted This is only the 3rd day I’ve been Subscribed but you’re channel is getting to be rather addictive and I look forward to getting my daily dose of lore from you. Thanks for the excellent work
Dude.... your writing and oration is amazing.
I’m so glad I stumbled across this channel. When I’m cooking, I’m listening!
Your voice... Your voice alone will make someone fold and listen to the tails of these amazing stories. You have a natural talent especially to this type of telling. Thank you. You have brought many of us a new feeling to these writings... you are a muse upon the stories of the 40K. Keep using your talent
Thank you very much brother Smith. All I can do is try and hope its ok. :)
Absolutely love this video and all your content so far. Don't know why you channel is so small, but just wanted to come out and make sure you know you have made a new fan of your content with this video. Congradulations sir, on a job well done
Many thanks indeed, brother. Alas, I am not good at advertising and have made a fair few blunders that have crippled my growth. Oh well. Maybe one day.
Thanks for listening and taking the time out of your day to comment. It helps a LOT and really does encourage me to improve. Thank you. :)
Really amazing vid. Love your voice its so dark and gritty yet so informiv :)
Thank you brother Paperclip;. I am very glad you enjoyed it. :)
An amazing intro. Every upload is getting better. Thank you good sir
As always, you are unfailingly kind. Thank you so much Kilgore. If I ever get anything off-point, tell me. I just want to improve. :)
I'm new to your content, just wow!! Thank you for your works. You have the golden voice!!
Intro was amazing, instant subscribe.
“Eeennd Quote!” Awesome.
what an epic narration of the grey knights. as someone who's fairly new to the world of the Warhammer lore such stories are easier to digest

These are great videos, I love the zeal as you put it! I'd like to request more on a particular space marine chapter. I would love to hear their lore and accolades in this format! Which teir is appropriate?
I can't wait for you do talk about all the other things you said you would! Magnificent entry!
Thank you for the great vid and introduction stories. your voice fits wery to the grim dark :)
Honestly my favorite video you've made!
THE chapter that made me learn to love and appreciate Space Marines. They will forever be my Astartes chapter.
You captured my favorite chaos god perfectly, you are such a great storyteller!
Keeps getting better and better, awesome stuff mate
Thanks, Kaptain. Trying to up the content quality. Not always easy. :)
Thanks for listening.
20 minutes into 53minute video. "Welcome gental listiner.". Lol
Blue Buda yeah, I like the intros for exposition. With this lot I thought ‘show don’t tell’ would be more dramatic. Highlighting exactly what they face and how important it is. I hope I wasn’t too off base?

I had no idea the grey knights gene seed was from the emperor. Great video extremely enjoyable as always.
I got my hands on a Gray Knight Army cause of this video, great work as always Balders!
Yummy. Good luck with them LCB. :)
Oh my. New subscriber here. I dont know how to describe what i feel when i listen to you speak about this wonderful subject of "the Hobby". I want full audio books... PLEASE.......
Another well done vid my brother. Well done!
When I first heard your voice I thought it was a professional voice actor from some production, when I realiSed it was you I instantly subscribed, you sir are a true talent
The link to the Luetin09's video was a fantastic touch.
Knowing who partially contributed to the Grey Knights relatively recently, hearing that they maintain adherence to the Codex limit of a thousand Marines is particularly chafing and eye-roll worthy.
The single most dangerous task in the galaxy, and yet even these scions of justice interminable follow Big Bobby G's word?
Can't leave well enough alone, can we, Matt?
Binging the content at a reasonable pace. An hour or less per day. Thanks Baldermort for filling a void which I knew existed.
These are keeping me sane during the lockdown thank you Sir
I don't know what your day job is but I would be giving that up and trying to find out how to get into audio books.
You got a great and captivating voice
2 minutes in and already subscribed, wonderful voice!
A highly intense 20 minutes. Thank you!
Thank you for doing this for my favourite Demon hunters, you gained a subscriber 😀
Welcome to the tribe, Brother Cassin. I hope you enjoy some of our other offerings. All community lead and directed. :)
Neat and all but all I can think of is that grey knight doing a 180 into chaos at the sight of slaanesh lol
70th like!!! Your presentation is awesome!!! You have the GrimDark voice and pace. If not for the suspenseful music I would think I am listening to a Vox Transmission... LoL...
Thanks, James. High praise indeed. I have to admit that I was playing with trying to get a vox-like sound for a future video. But I am a bit cr*p, so it may take a while. Lol. Thank you so much for your time and patience and support. It is very appreciated indeed.
Singing French Knights
In the Middle Ages, Western France was known for it singing knights. The most famous group was a bunch of lancers from the town of Brittany. They were known as the Brittany Spears.
That intro man, it's why I love the grey knights. They show up kill everything in their way then leave. So badass
Sweet emperor of man! This is the first of your videos I’ve listened too.... fucking amazing!
Thank you brother. :)
Fantastic narration! Love your stuff.
The starting story brought a tear to my eye. It really brought across what a regular imperial citizen must think and feel at an event such as this.
PLEASE DO THE ASSASSINS . NOT YELLING GOING BLIND . GREAT VIDEOS YOU HAVE A GREAT VOICE FOR AUDIO BOOKS . THANK YOU .
DEFINITELY GOING TO TRY TO GET TO THEM SOON.
NOT SHOUTING - JUST MAKING THIS EASIER TO READ! :)
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING - BROTHER. :) :) :)
Great job, but God the Grey knights are even bigger Mary Sues than the Ultra Smurfs.
Aye, but don;t hate them because of er..... questionable and unmeasured writing. The faction is good! :)
Thank you for this video, helps me paint my first mini 😁
