😂 I popped my hood last night to check the oil level, but than I just went to take a shower instead. In the morning the hood switch wouldn’t let me shift. Lol. Thanks for your video very detailed
No fault codes on this one. A common fault is the p1717 On Period Hydraulic Unit. The fix is generally replacing the hydraulic accumulator, bleed procedure and redacting the unit. And of course just throw the salmon SMG relay in for good measure :).
@@knobleindustries8106 thats what happening to my 07 m6 smg3 after driving around 25-40 mins i get a trans warning and if i keep driving it stalls and shuts off... its my pressure accumalat0r ?
@@thelastsaiyan6631 did you find out? i’m having a guy look at mine and he said in order to look and see it’s gonna cost 832$ since he has to remove the exhaust system for the labor too, but it’s for my e46 m3
There has to be a better way to fix this issue without having to do any cutting, soldering, tricking the ECU, or altering (conduit) the electric wires, etc.
To answer my question, the fix was spraying WD-40 to both hood micro switch and yes "no more blinking noted on instrument cluster" !! All that wok your doing when this might be your fix! WD40!
I'd say this is totally the wrong approach to the issue. I had this exact problem with my hood switch. I disconnected the microswitches and shorted the switch wires so as far as the car is concerned the hood is always closed, even when it's open. But the point is now I can change gear. No cutting, and no soldering. The video is not the way to approach things like this. Totally none standard.

Great job info - keep it up.👍🏻
Ok happens to me too. But I just replaced my whole front end. So only gears 1-5 and reverse stay flashing when I’m on them
Do u hav a transmission code fault in clauster or jst a blink on neutral?? thanks for reply

Congrats 👏👏👏 glad wd-40 fixed your car. This car had a bad microswitch. 👍

Glad that works for you. Deleting the entire function of the hood switch wasn't an option for this customer.
