- At 2017m, Mt. Kumotori is the highest point in Tokyo. The scenery is amazing with 360 degree views of the other mountains and if you're lucky, views of Mt. Fuji (we weren't lucky this time!). The hike takes a total of 10-11 hours, starting from Kamosawa trailhead in Okutama. We were also super happy to see monkey's, deer, serow and a grumpy cat lodge owner!

Hello! This one felt like an action-packed hike - beautiful views, lots of animals and some (maybe?) magical spring water 😂 What animal encounter was your favourite? We thought the grumpy cat lodge owner was pretty cute 😅
Again, so beautiful !! ❤
Spectacular ❤plenty of furry friends on the way with comfortable digs at the end of the day. The food look delicious and impressive sunrise.
Having somewhere nice to lay our tired bodies at the end of the day was certainly one of the best parts haha! 😂
Great video! I hiked this in March. I started at Mitsumine shrine, spending a night at the Kumotori lodge and reaching the summit in the morning.
It was good conditions although there was a lot of snow as I was caught in a blizzard on the second morning.
I descended down Okutama.
It’s good to see it again through your video 🤙🏽
Thanks for watching! Oh nice! I wondered what it was like starting from Mitsumine shrine instead. Those conditions on the second morning sound crazy 😳 Did you have to wait out the weather a bit or was it okay to continue on?
We were warned but my mate and I just went for it anyway. Our toenails came off due to the cold lol
Besides all that it was a great hike. Next hike will be Mt Tengu in Nagano.
Oh my, that is cold 😳 I just looked up Mt. Tengu as it’s the first time I’ve heard of it, it looks like it has great views! Hope you have a great hike!
Wow, coming from Okutama, those are some steep hills to weather a blizzard in! Some parts are easily 45 degrees. Sounds fun!
Hey! Wow we just come back from Japan and we didn’t get a chance to do this as we weee only there for 10days and see much to see. Wish we had done it !!! We really enjoyed your video a lot. We are looking forward to watching more
Thank you for watching! Yeah there's so much to see in Japan haha! Where did you guys get to during your 10 day trip?
01:30 廃墟? Roy and Aimee、いつも楽しそうだね!!😊👍
廃墟だね!登山が楽しいからね!いつか一緒にしよう!

Hello I will be hiking Mt Kumotori in two weeks. I have already reserved my stay for the lodge, but I don't know if I need a permit for the hike? I can't find any information on that. Please can you tell me if I need a permit? Thanks
Hello! You don't need a permit to hike Mt. Kumotori. Hope you get some beautiful weather and have a great hike!
Hi have you arrived here by Shinkanzen or by Van?
We arrived by public transport 😊 We took the train on the Chuo line to Okutama Station and then caught a 40-minute bus to Kamosawa.
hi. what month did you visit this mountain?
Hi there! We visited on March 11/12th 😊
That Mickey in a teapot was sitting in the entrance when I went up there a few months after you in July… got some good mileage out of that in the "creepy" videos I made from the trip. My kids like this one the best: ruclips.net/video/8j8fTmjA9X0/видео.html
Are you going to climb up 100 Famous Japanese Mountains? Or maybe shikoku pilgrimage? 😆 I enjoy your videos🎉
Thank you! Yes we would love to do the 100 Famous Mountains! We've only done about 10 so far so we've still got a lot to go 😅 We've heard of the Shikoku pilgrammage but don't know much about it - have you done it?
Not yet! You can enjoy camping and swimming in the ocean if we are in a summer:)
Probably its takes to up to 1 month if we threw hiking! Kumanokodo? What’s next your adventure!! I like enjoying local food when I travel somewhere:)
Oh do you live in Shikoku then? 1 month is a long time haha, we'd need to take a bit of time off work! Oh Kumanokodo is definitely on our list. Our next goal is to buy a camping car so we'll be able to travel a lot more. Hopefully we can do it soon!
Good one. We really got to do a collaboration video someday.
Thank you! Where are you guys based?
@@RoyandAimee down in Izu. But we head all over the place. Heading to Nigata April 29 to May 3. Shoot another video. We just got back from Shimoda and uploaded a few Shorts!
