Isn't our backyard a nature lovers paradise 😍 Are there any Princess Mononoke fans out there? If so, would you stop by this forest while travelling through Nagano?

Thanks for not telling the location, Sometimes we don't need many tourist to spoil wonderful places. Great video.

We didn't write the exact name of the location on screen but honestly that wasn't really a concious decicion 😅 I think we just forgot because we were focusing more on the lifestyle aspect in this video. Whether or not to introduce these kind of lesser known places is something I (Aimee) think about quite a bit. In the end, I think the barrier to access is already quite high with needing to rent a car and navigate any language barriers that come with that and travelling in the countryside, that introducing it likely won't cause an enormous influx of tourists that the area can't handle. I'm always interested in hearing different opinions though! 😊

Hi guys I hope you’re both well? Where do I begin with how fantastic this video is 😊 First and foremost, Happy Birthday Aimee 🎉
It’s great to see that you’re making more of the personal touches and additions to your home, what an awesome find with the TV stand! It’s really nice to hear how settled you’re both feeling and that you’ve made a great circle of friends too.
That forest looks stunning, I love the contrast of colours against the rock faces that you climbed. That looked an incredible climb too, great to see your skills transfer to the outdoors, again even better that you were with friends too 😊
Thank as always for sharing this excellent video with everyone. Best wishes to the two of you and have a wonderful weekend too. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇦🇺🇯🇵💙😊

Hello! We're fighting fit as always! Thank you for the birthday wishes, it sure was an Aimee-esque way to spend the day!
Yessss, we're so incredibly glad with all aspects of what's going on with life right now. The nature we've settled ourselves amongst, the friends we're making, the challenges we're taking and of course, the absolute bargain of a TV stand haha!
Thank you so much for watching & good health and best wishes to you and your family 😊

An amazing forest (Mononoke Forest) in Nagano. A very happy birthday to Aimee, too! (what day, exactly? is your b-day?). As for climbing, it seems like real workout! Happy autumn in Japan!

Yay, thank you so much for watching and your lovely comment. Aimee's birthday was on the 16th of Sept. Although, we're kinda well past that because editing takes a bit of time 😅

Hope you can make it and find it equally as enjoyable! (We can't guarantee there'll be a singing lady every time, however) 😂

    I am a middle-aged man from Tokyo.
At the moment you mentioned princess mononoke like "the other place that princess mononoke is said to have been inspired", I promptly imagened that forest and the pond.
Shirokoma-no-ike is one of my favorite natural scenic sites.
In mid-winter, the pond is covered with frozen ice sheet and you can see snow piled up on it.
Camping with a mountaineer tent on the pond is also my favorite. Please consider it if you don't hate it.
On top of that, there is the Japan's second highest pass accessible by car "Mugikusa-toge"(pass) near the pond.
For me Saku is the ideal place to live as there are a lot of natural, cultural, agricultural sites to drive around.
As you may know, such as Tsumagoi-mura(Gunma), Shibu-toge(highest pass on national road), Kusatsu-Onsen(traditional hot spa at high elevation), Nozori-ko(scenic dam lake), Karuizawa town, Kawakami-mura(broad fields of cabbage cultivation), Nobeyama station(highest elevation as normal train station), Kiyosato station(fancy / nostalgic area), as far as I know.
I'd be happy if this helps.

Oh my gosh! I didn't know that the pond freezes over! We'll have to look into it and see if we can fit that into our winter schedule.
Wow, you're very knowledgeable about the area, thank you so much for sharing! We're glad you think Saku is an ideal place to live, because we absolutely love it here! 😊

I would love to do outdoor rope climbing in Japan ! But it seems like something only locals know how to access 😅
I can't find any information about outdoor climbing experiences unfortunately...

    • @RoyandAimee
      @RoyandAimee  7 дней назад

You're totally right we've found it's a little bit hidden and difficult to find, that's why we were so excited when we were invited to go!
I did do a super quick Google and found this however: www.explore-share.com/trip/2-day-basic-rock-climbing-course-ogawa/
      That actually looks really fun!
