I have two of these engines, one at 110,000 and the other at 191,000. Great video. These 2AZFE engines will be in service for a long time so this video will not get stale.
At 1:52 , I got my answer. 22 mm socket for 2002 - 2006 2AZ-FE Camry engines. The word on the forums is to swap it out religiously every 30K miles. Thanks.
Just did the valve cover gasket yesterday , went very smooth in my 2005 Camry. Gonna replace the pcv valve today looks super cheap and simple. Mine as well take care of that before my trip to Florida!
Just found your channel. Great job. I have several of these engines with over 350,000 miles. They should be changed every 120,000 mi. along with the valve cover gaskets, coolant, and spark plugs. Also you really shouldn't use aftermarket for these as they usually don't flow right and make a lot of noise in my experience. You can get them from most dealers in stock for the same price if you're willing to negotiate.
Have 2002 Camry was loosing oil not leaking but burning. After few trail error find out it was my inner ring valve cover gasket. Way to tell is check your spar plugs and do cylinder pressure test around operating temp. If all cylinder hold with in 10 psi your cylinder rings are find. That lead me to do the opening valves cover which was not externally leaking but was leaking internally into my cylinder heads and spar plugs. Changed and also changed the PCV just for good measure. All oil burning stopped
The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve is a simple system that introduces filtered fresh air into the crankcase. The PCV valve uses the engine's vacuum to pull air through the crankcase and reintroduce it back into the intake manifold system.
Nice video. Short and to the point. The OEM part is under 10 bucks from the stealership so I stuck with OEM for me 2005 Camry. Your voice sounds like one of the kids in the Venture Bros.
Useful years later! I will be linking to this video from my own. Was one of the easiest, quickest, and cheapest maintenance items I have done and one that has made one of the biggest differences in how the car feels.
Hey Dan, I have a 2004 Camry and I’m having trouble with identifying a part. It is the same tubing for the pcv valve, but on the other side of the engine connected to the air intake. What is that called. Mine broke right off :(
About the thread lock adhesive thing.......doesn't it need it on the new PCV valve as well? The service Manual says "Part No. 08833-00080, THREE BOND 1344, LOCTITE 242 or equivalent" Have you faced any issues after installing it in without the adhesive? Apparently it is used on the Oil Pressure Switch as well, as the SM says, "Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the oil pressure switch"
@@jimmypavone3231 Why would it cause burning oil? The pressure should still be venting through the breather hose, right? Mine goes through a good quart every oil change, but I'm thinking it's a valve cover gasket instead.
@@brianheath5091 oh yes after I replaced it it still burns a ton of oil, I now know this is an issue for these engines made in the USA. Never buy a Toyota with a vin that doesn’t start with a J. Apparently there was some sort of limited recall by Toyota that we missed in 2017! My mechanic recommended using a heavier and conventional oil. I was going to try that this oil change. My poor car feels like she’s about to explode
Amazing how concise instructions, details and good camera makes a perfect video. Thanks

04 4cyl Camry se with 390,000 original trans and engine, burns oil but runs great no smoke. No major repairs, only regular maintenance.
Just what I needed, tool description, what to take off, where it is, nice, simple and concise. Thanks!

Thank you for making this video . My 2004 Toyota solara has burning oil so I’m going to change mine out thank you for showing me where it’s located.
Would this help with p2196? Ive already changed the 02 sensor and cleaned the MAF
Thanks👍 for posting this video was really helpful.. I have the same issue with my 2004 Toyota Camry XLE 2.4.. going to change that PCV valve ASAP!!!
Does this help with lesss of oil consumption and help with gas mileage improvement ?.
Sad story our engine model the ZA had a recall for burning oil. That Toyota attempted to cover up since this model sold so well.
Great video! Very helpful.
did this affect the oil consumption amount?
I'm about to replace mine at 296k first time alsmost everythng is original
whats the name of the music that played at the end?? Been searching for it for a long time.
Shazam app
Very informative
What lbs do I torque it to?
Did replacing it slow down oil use ?
Will a bad pcv valve cause a P0301 trouble code??
That's a missfire on cilinder 1. Probably coil/plug/injector.
@danny192 I'm having a p2196 code pop up and I've already changed my o2 sensor.. any idea if this would be a factor?

I'm looking for the name of this as well
After replacing the pcv valve on my Camry there’s a scratching noise ? Any ideas

Did you end up using this sealant type for your pcv valve?
Can someone tell me what is the size of the hose diameter? thx
Excellent video, very simple and helpful, God Bless you 🙏❤️👍
Thanks man
Super awesome
Good job, w/ PCV bro! Loosing oil.....might be a bad head gasket. Yikes!
Yea probably the head gasket, but at 250k miles I dont think I'll spend the time to change it XD
Could also be piston rings depending on the year the car was made.
@@michaelhahn4589 Anyone know a way to fix this that DOESN'T include opening up the head?
@@brianheath5091 fix the burning oil?
@@michaelhahn4589 If it's due to piston rings. Didn't know if there was a way to get a better seal without a full on piston replacement.
Thanks.
22mm socket. Thanks.
What are symptoms of a clogged PCV valve?
i came here because my car is burning oil, the main symptom
