      My wife's 2004 Camry is so bad it stalls when coming to a stop half of the time. If it doesn't it idles at about 500rpm and shakes like crazy. In the middle of cleaning it out now. 🤞 This works!

    My 2006 Camry throttle has a slight initial sticking point which tends to make it take off from a stop with a surge. I was hoping to find the TB nice and accessible so I could spray the pulley area with penetrating spray but no, buried. Thx to your video I can get to it.

    The guy I bought my camry from ran it on 3 cylinders for half a yr. Cost me $2 at the pick n pull to get rid of it but I didn't think about how much damage had been done. Installed a new catalytic converter (from Toyota for $1380, yes, more than I paid for the car.....(California pzev vehical) it also has a valve stem seal issue to where it smokes upon first startup. Just reset the maintenance soon light and had to have to it wrong cause now it won't idle! Holy f! 238k miles and still 24 mpg around town, otherwise this money pit would be gone. Love the car, truly do but it's now claimed a part of my soul in trade for overpriced over engineered parts!

      @joshuaslye6240 the bad idle turned out to be a bad maf, what threw me off is the fa t I had replaced it 4 months prior. Only thing the cat really did was not let the car pass emmisions. That leaky valve seal man, it kills cats

    Is there idle air control valve on this 2005 Camry? I got my throttle body cleaned, new air filter, cleaned MAF sensor as well, but the car still vibrates time and again with AC on. With AC off, everything is smooth and quite.

    • @MaxK777
      @MaxK777 Год назад +2

      I think the IAC is built into the the TB. I’ve been having same issue, stalled a few times, could be dangerous. I was thinking maybe replace the whole TB, but then the fuel injectors can be the culprit too. Idk

    • @zohaibanwar5919
      @zohaibanwar5919 Год назад +2

      @MaxK777 my problem is that the RPM go down with AC turning off. Also if the car is idling and give a tap on the gas pedal, it will rev up and then go down below the limit to vibrate the car and then the RPM will jump back to normal. That is very frustrating because I have new filter, new plugs, also got my injectors machine cleaned but still this issue is not solved. I also get my throttle body cleaned regularly. Got a new MAF sensor cleaner as well, that also didn5 make a difference.

    Would a dirty throttle body cause issues with idling and smog check?

    • @Mrparkkila
      @Mrparkkila 2 года назад +3

      Yes, a dirty throttle body can cause your engine to idle a slightly higher rpms than it would normally. In my experience it idles maybe a few hundred rpm higher (300-400 at max) and cleaning the throttle body helps with that.

    • @DEADIKATED
      @DEADIKATED 2 года назад +3

      @@Mrparkkila I figured it out, it was the ehxaust pipe was clogged with the Main Cat Convertor which is no longer there anymore. I cleaned it out and now have power again aside from a slight rattle. Can't pass a smog check though...😁

    Cleaning the inside of the throttle body doesn't seem worth it. All that rubber ducting is dirty too and that's not being cleaned at all so I'd rather just pull the MAF sensor and clean it in-hand.

    • @Gken22
      @Gken22 2 года назад +2

      From experience it’s most definitely worth cleaning the throttle body. It takes maybe 30 min tops

    • @fifteenbyfive
      @fifteenbyfive 2 года назад +3

      @@Gken22 Yeah I just did this a couple days after that comment. Once i had the MAF off it would have taken 5 minutes tops. I probably could have and should have. But fixing a few vacuum leaks and fastidiously cleaning the MAF was all it took to solve the problem. The car runs great so I'm happy.

    • @vancheeliu6794
      @vancheeliu6794 5 месяцев назад +3

      The throttle body has the butterfly-valve at 12% to 14% at idle. At this low %, the valve is barely open with a small gap. The dirt built-up in front and behind the two valve-closing positions will make the idling very rough. So cleaning these places in throttle body is significantly useful.
      Pulling out the MAF sensor and clean it in-hand is a very good advice because the exposed element is the temperature sensor only; the MAP sensor element is hidden in the curved short ducts that need a few good sprays to blast the solvent thoroughly through the short ducts.
