The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve is a simple system that introduces filtered fresh air into the crankcase. The PCV valve uses the engine's vacuum to pull air through the crankcase and reintroduce it back into the intake manifold system.

Just changed my 2003 Camry pcv valve and hose this morning, Thank you for the video, Instead of wrench, i used a 22vmm deep socket and it took off and re: installed the pcv valve super easy.

That's usually the main cause of oil consumption and major oil leaks due to not properly ventilation of crankcase pressure

Great video, and well explained, but are you positive you didn't cross thread new one? When you tightened it down the nipple on the pcv valve, wobbled instead of staying straight

@@LH-kz2nf I also did notice the wobble. Although I followed the existing threads, it is possible that it had previously been cross threaded as I have found multiple other "issues" with previous repairs that had been done.

'rattling' is only a sign ... they are cheap and simple to replace ... just buy a new one...

Question that has me stumped, I changed out the pcv valve with a new one but the new one has a rattling buzzing sound to it and when I put the old one back it doesn't make that sound which is confusing me.

try using an actual oem parts. I try to stay away from aftermarket parts bc of things like that. Here’s part number. Toyota 12204-28020 Toyota parts deal website has them for 7$
