The game was too short compared to Uncharted 2. Chloe disappeared a quarter through the game. Why the fuck should we have to purchase unlockable content instead of earning them like in Uncharted 1 and 2?
The entire ship segment is completely unnecessary and is just used as filler in the story, it barely has any presense in the plot besides giving Talbot an escape and progress the story by two or three days, other than that, it’s just cool looking set pieces without being much else besides that.
Every single Uncharted game is phenomenal in my opinion, with each one having their own things they do exceptionally well. I’ve played each game through like 10 times each over the years and still love each one. Definitely one of the best and most beloved PlayStation franchises of all time.
Uncharted 3 was unknowingly sacrificed on the altar of video games for The Last of Us (developed at the same time as U3), and it wouldn't be the last time either, as Naughty Dog has passed on doing more Uncharted games (for now). Uncharted 3 is ultimately a development story about an "underbaked" game (with wasted potential) rushed to market (in just 2 years), with only HALF of the creative team / devs at Naughty Dog (as ND was split in two, also working on TLOU concurrently), in which Peter Jackson's The Hobbit stole Charlie Cutter from us (who was supposed to have a much larger role), because Graham McTavish had to leave for NZ during U3 development. Drake's Deception is every bit as deserving of a remake as Drake's Fortune.
I replayed the trilogy after many years I got the platinum trophy for uncharted 1, 2 and 3 last month. These games still hold up really good in 2023. Loved every bit of them
I loved the entire series and their stories, including this one. And I feel the most memorable part is either the opening mission(giant bar brawl and getting shot) or sneaking through the airport and stowing away on the plane, right before the desert. But the entire game is very memorable
Uncharted 3 was a banger for me honestly, it was my first game on the PlayStation 3 and did not disappoint, obviously to some it’s not the best, but the game was not made for everybody, but it was 🔥 for me including online
Uncharted 3 was my first from the series and then part 2 and then 1 And somehow this was not even intentional that I played them backwards Then I played 4 and that's it cuz 5th one didn't have Drake in it
As someone who has already finished the game on all difficulties (even Crushing), I can say that this game easily enters my top 5 favorite games, and honestly, the last level was not so difficult on Crushing difficulty, at least for me, the hardest parts were the ships chapter until chapter 16. Well, it was fun, now it's time to look for the treasures haha. (I LOVE UNCHARTED HAHA!!).
Honestly uncharted 3 is my favorite and has some of the best and creative set pieces and that throwing the grenade mechanic made me so happy bc uncharted 1 and 2 pissed me off with it's controls but uncharted 3 was amazing idk what he's talking about the quality gap from 2 to 3 is very noticable
I love it's gameplay, and I actually think it's got some of the best setpeices, but yeah, as you said the issue is that it's just one after another constantly. They're memorable on paper but while you're playing they blend together. Messy pacing hurt even more by the story
Nahhhh uncharted 3 gotta be my favorite out the series. My first ps3 I ever got was the uncharted 3 bundle and has always had a special place in my heart lol
Uncharted 3 I actually like the big set pace moments the house burning down in France was epic the plane sequence the cruise ship sequence the many puzzles. Uncharted 3 had a lot more puzzles the slow moments in the desert was nice Uncharted 2 got repetitive with all the shooting it was nice to have some slow moments in Uncharted 3. Plus I found out Nolan North made a book on his experience making the 3rd game it’s a pretty good book.
I wish there were more enemy varieties for The uncharted games. Im mean the first game takes place in a jungle and theres are no predatory animals to fight. Maybe a Tiger or a giant Anaconda. I heard Uncharted 3 was suppose to have a genie boss as some sort of final boss but was cut due to budget i guess
Talbot is also a fucking wizard and we never find out why. It isn't five nights at Freddy's where we need to keep guessing to keep it interesting, it's an action movie that i control occasionally, and i want answers for confusing shit like Talbot's magical ability to disappear and heal from a bullet wound in .2 seconds without any bloodstains or damage to his suit.
2 deserves all the credit - but I don't think for 1 second it can be considered better than 4. We can grade on a curve and talk about influence etc. - try and grade it based on the time it came out. But 4 was the complete package, so satisfying, so beautiful, well paced, the best gameplay.
It might be the weakest of the four, but I still enjoyed it. I do think the combat encounters in 3 are more frustrating tho, especially most of the yatch scenes.
The story line is confusing like in uncharted 4 we get to see sam and Nate and how there were kids and went to a Puerto Rican jail idk I don't remember anyways and his they went to jail so in uncharted 3 we see Nate getting drakes ring and how those people in suits find him and try to take it away so sully helps him and all that happened was sully and him were at a place eating so like if you think about it sully idk would have brought him to his house or something then how did bro end up in jail 💀👍
The enemies have the worst reaction to bullet damage in the entire series. Sometimes they don’t flinch at all, felt like I was shooting a walking mannequin sometimes. Talbot being the magician wasn’t explained well enough and he was kinda disappointing overall, Marlowe was cool tho. There wasn’t any real supernatural twist just Nate getting drugged all the time.
I love all gas no breaks. Anything that is non stop action is perfection in my book. And DOOM and DMC are the pinnacle of all gas, brake *failure* and a side dish of NOS
I played this game in a day, it was crazy. Like so much was happening at once. Like one minute you in a bar, then sewers, then france, then syria, then you meet your ex fiance in yemen? Then your getting druged, then your on a boat, then your falling out a plane, then your have hallucinations in a desert, then your in a lost city being drugged again? Too much was happening.
Not really we had London we had Colombia with young Drake. We had France and Syria then Yemen the Cruise Ship and Cargo Plane then the Desert stuff and the game ends. If you follow along with the story it’s not hard to understand
Uncharted 3 is close ties with uncharted 4. I loved uncharted 3's story, but the quality of uncharted 4 ,and I used to love the gunsway heist as a kid...its tough. Personally,I didn't really enjoy uncharted 2 as much as the others
The only bad thing about uncharted 3 is the gun combat cause you need to shot someone 5 times to kilk them and if you shot them 4 times they don't even flinch or even feel the bullet
your opinion isn't valid if you skip the cutscenes. In order to give a valid solid review on a game, you need to go through the game 100% to get into the depth and understanding of what connects the dynamics and the experience to its fullest.
You may want to watch the video again. I say I skip the cutscenes on repeat playthroughs, obviously not during a first run or any run where I am evaluating the product.
Tbh I don't think Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception was the weakess. I'll admit the story wasn't perfect & imo I think maybe they should've just killed off Charie Cutter in the story since the actor had to leave work early go work on the Hobbit movie. Also they should've had Chloe stick around to help Nate, Sully, & Elena.
Uncharted 3 was a very ambitious game, but it was a mix of action setpieces put together with very little story between them. Overall, I still enjoyed playing it, but it's nowhere near as great as Uncharted 2 or 4. 3 out of 5.
For me it was the puzzles that dragged this game down. Badly designed, tedious, frustrating and thrown at the player in very long stretches. I also agree about the story. It wasn't as good or as compelling as the first two games. Additionally there are some truly maddening gunfights where you can die far too easily and it feels like the game is being cheap in those moments. Overall though this is still a great blockbuster adventure. Just not as good as Uncharted 2 and 4 and maybe on par with the first game.
Imo in comparing the original trilogy, Uncharted 3 is a better looking part 1. The combat, taking cover, and movement overall in 2 was much smoother. 2 is by far the best out of the trilogy. Seems like 3 reverted to the clunkiness frustration of 1. The story of 3 was not memorable. Overall 3 is not a great game. Just good.
This game might be my favorite one of all uncharted
I don’t know why people don’t give it credits
I hated the gunplay. Enemies barely react to some guns when in uncharted two they always reacted to getting shot
The game was too short compared to Uncharted 2. Chloe disappeared a quarter through the game. Why the fuck should we have to purchase unlockable content instead of earning them like in Uncharted 1 and 2?
for me the story is the weak point 😢😢😢😢 but it's good. not bad but not good either
The entire ship segment is completely unnecessary and is just used as filler in the story, it barely has any presense in the plot besides giving Talbot an escape and progress the story by two or three days, other than that, it’s just cool looking set pieces without being much else besides that.
@saudf5921 same
I loved how since they sidelined Sully pretty early on in Uncharted 2 they focused more on the bond between Sully and Drake in this game
And Nate and Elena too ❤
If I understand correctly, that's because the voice actor had other work going on at the time. Probably my most disliked thing about Uncharted 2.
Every single Uncharted game is phenomenal in my opinion, with each one having their own things they do exceptionally well. I’ve played each game through like 10 times each over the years and still love each one. Definitely one of the best and most beloved PlayStation franchises of all time.

Uncharted 3 had amazing multiplayer I remember as a kid doing the coop missions it was so fun….can’t rate all 3 games all amazing
Ngl, my favorite uncharted game

Ive plan all the uncharted games countless times and yet my most memorable scene is the underground abandoned train depot
I replayed the trilogy after many years I got the platinum trophy for uncharted 1, 2 and 3 last month. These games still hold up really good in 2023. Loved every bit of them
The worst part about this game for me was the fact that they never explained why Talbot had his powers

Talbot is my favourite villian of all Uncharted games
For me is Uncharted 3 the best.
I platinumed the three uncharted games in less than 2 weeks

My man. Chapter 18 is my favorite game chapter ever.
17 is when he falls out the plane, 18 is when he lands on the desert
@gdlukas2889 I'm aware. I meant The Rub al Khali from the initial post. He specifically references the desert in the video, not the crash.
I'm playing uncarted 1 atm and I loved it after just a few minutes playing, I'm so excited to start part 2 and 3!! it can only get better
The multiplayer went hard back in the day
This is my favorite uncharted game!!! 🎉
Plane crash and shipwreck scenes>>>> Uncharted 2’s train scene
Uncharted 3 was my first from the series and then part 2 and then 1
And somehow this was not even intentional that I played them backwards

We all know why this game sucks: Talbot not being a Djinn!
I have the PS4 Nathan Drake collection I've played the first second and third and the fourth.
Uncharted 2 is the one that feel like a movie the most but U3 has the best gameplay and combat
I mean the whole series is goated imo. 2 probably the best imo
I wish there were more enemy varieties for The uncharted games. Im mean the first game takes place in a jungle and theres are no predatory animals to fight. Maybe a Tiger or a giant Anaconda. Never played the second game. Played this one and loved it, thought the story was great too. Don't know why people say it was lackluster
I was 12 when I first played this and understood the story perfectly 💀💀💀 its still my favorite Uncharted too 😅
Uncharted 2 and 3 are the goats and 4 its perfect

Uncharted 3 was better than 2. People are just blinded by nostalgia. A Thief’s End is the best in the series though

This game was my absolute favourite growing even more than uncharted 2 and idk even tho UC 2 is better I still would rather play UC 3
I wasn’t a fan of the desert chapter. Like 5 minutes of slow walking in a desert is not fun

Uncharted 4 is the best video game of all time
This is the best uncharted imo Idc what people say btw no hate always love to hear other opinions😊
UC1 and 3 is the best

Uncharted 2 was the best

3 out of 5.
Uncharted 3 was amazing I m tired of people talking for nothing all the time
The combat is what puts UC3 below 2 for me. What was ND thinking with that awful melee system....
