- Nate is discovered by Marlowe's men on board, and a shoot-out ensues, resulting in a fire on board, leading to massive decompression, which tears the plane apart and sucks Nate out. Falling through the sky, Nate collides with a falling supply crate and deploys the crate's unused parachute; he is able to land safely on the desert floor. Nate finds a weapon in the wreckage and starts to journey through the desert.
After wandering the desert, suffering from heat exhaustion, severe thirst and experiencing hallucinations and mirages, Nate arrives at a ghost town in the desert where he is attacked by Marlowe's men. A troop of men on horseback, led by Salim (TJ Ramini), appear and ride to Nate's rescue

Two days lost in desert without water and anything to eat. He's hallusinating and dehydrated. When he reaches village he's instantly combat ready.
And fights guys twice his size, and kills Talbot who is a trained and skilled fighter. Then gets beaten by Nadine in the next one and forgets how to block even, he can barely dodge. It's almost like they didn't want us beating up a woman's.

@@eggynuts7735 Nate doesn't even bother blocking anymore, they literally made him weaker so Nadine can beat him. Would of big way better if he still kept his fighting experience and made it to where you can actually have a real fight and kick her mercenary ass

@@eggynuts7735 yeah I agree if you can actually still fight back so it's still fun, taking away blocking and dodging just makes no sense.
What I always found most astonishing about these games was not Nate's ability to deal with these situations but rather the unbelievable lengths the minions go to kill him. Like the plane is falling out of the sky, save yourselves you idiots, call a temporary truce and go look for parachutes, do something!

Even all these years later… that build up into the track The Empty Quarter at 6:51 followed by its explosive and beautiful score, the aerial camera showing the vast ocean of sand- pure chills. Uncharted as a series truly has breath taking music, paired phenomenally with environment.

4:32 Nathan immediately after being happy that he survived the fall but realising he is in the middle of the desert has some weight. He starts to understand that he might be f*cked and we feel too.
This chapter of the game is simply genius. You feel everything he feels (besides thirst and heat obviously).
You feel lost, desperate to find any sign of life and you just can’t do anything besides walk, but you also can’t stop either or you die. But it’s also not a boring chapter just because of the desperation you feel, and the perfect transitions as well. Best chapter in the game for me!

Everyone always talks about the train in U2, or the truck in U4, but this is 100% the most unrealistic livable moment, the plane crash and especially the 48+ hours in the 100°+ desert with no water should’ve killed him. He didn’t even wrap his scarf around his head to prevent overheating lmao

The two enforcers waste my ammo and I'm sprayed with bullets while they stand there shooting back, walking towards me. Two or three other standard opponents come running in and I'm killed every time 😡 lol

Uncharted 3 is 10 times better than uncharted 2 uc3 has the bar fight,burning chateau, ship escape, boat escape, plan crash, the chase, the friendship between nate and sully, and so much more

Uncharted 3 is more cinematic but Uncharted 2 is just plain old fun and crazy as heck I mean you fight a god damn tank and a god damn Apache helicopter. Not only that but the intro imo is the best out of any video game I've ever played by a loong long shot (train scene).
They're all good games. I enjoyed every single one of them.

I’m from Oman and damn this looks good for a 2011 game, this desert is in 4 countries; Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen and UAE imagine having the guts to go there cuz we Arabs don’t even do that lol it’s just a game eventually

Some blunders in the sequence.
When he accidentally grabbed the box mesh and pulled off the parachutes, he could have seen the truck parachute, which he pulled off on the plane in the first place.
it would be much easier to see which direction the truck parachutes landed or at least see which direction the village is.
Why didn't he open the box with which he dropped on the sand. There could be some kind of survival equipment he could use to keep his strength established when he arrived at the village.
The whole sequence was just a comedy rather than a thrill.

After the first cut scenes and fight you can fast forward to the 18:00 minute mark. Once you start in the desert to the 18 minute mark it’s just a big waste of time with him walking around.
