Oh So Easy! Hooded Scarf

  • The Oh So Easy! Hooded Scarf really is easy to make. It’s a good project for beginners and anyone who enjoys making their own unique clothing. I found that the chunky yarn I used, made the hooded scarf extra warm and comfy. But really, you could use any yarn for this project. This hooded scarf has a rounded hoodie which I really love.
    The Oh So Easy! Hooded Scarf is a one size fits all project. The Hooded scarf is worked in three parts: the scarf, the hoodie and the ribbing for the hoodie.
    The pattern is easy and repetitive and works up very fast so in no time at all you have a hooded scarf.
    Pattern Notes:
    ch3 and ch2 counts as a st.
    Do not work a st into the same st from where the ch3 or ch2 comes out of.
    Check out chainsnloops.com for the free written pattern

    A friend asked me to make this for her but I’m using a worsted 4 weight yarn instead of the bulky yarn,so because it’s thinner I had to make my chain longer but it’s turning out great with this yarn. It’s also a fun but easy pattern to do. I’m just on the 12th row so I just got started but can’t wait to see the finished product. Thanks for sharing this with us.

      Hi, thank you🌸 At that time I didn’t want to be on social media🤦🏽‍♀️ - I needed to get used to it all! this hoodie fits a head circumference of 55cm or 21,5 inches - I created the pattern to give everyone an idea of how to make a rounded hoodie. The pattern can be used for any hoodie using the same stitch pattern - I don’t like pointed hoodies so I just shared this to help others that don’t like pointed hoodies too😊

  • @LoveEmpress
    @LoveEmpress 9 месяцев назад

    So wonderful that you created the hood without a point in the back! How would I make the hood wider and drapier without a seam at all, what would I do? Thank you! 🙏🏽♥️

    • @JKDHandmade
      @JKDHandmade  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, yes you can make it bigger. Once you are done with the scarf, you would make the width of the hoodie wider at the point where I fold the scarf in half to find the centre for the hoodie - and as for more ease on the hoodie, you would have to add a few more rounds before you begin the decreases for the rounded top of the hoodie - Gosh! I hope this all makes sense

    Love the rounded hood! I'm doing a bit chunkier yarn with an 8mm hook. What would be the height on the hood before you start decreasing? My stitches are longer using the bigger hook so I need to adjust pattern as it will be less rows. Just wondering if you maybe had a height measurement. Thanks!

    • @JKDHandmade
      @JKDHandmade  2 года назад

      Hi, work until when you sort of measure the piece against yourself or whoever you may be making this for, it measures from the base of the neckline to the highest part of the head (the crown) plus an inch or so extra to make it a bit loose, and then begin the decreases - hope this helps🌸

    • @hollyd1208
      @hollyd1208 2 года назад +2

      @@JKDHandmade Thanks! I did wind up having to pull it out and redo but it worked out the second time. I needed the hood. Little smaller so I shortened the length to 15 inches instead of 19 and it was perfect! I started the decrease about where you said and it worked out. For the band I only did one row of single, one row of double, and finished with a row of single. Came out great! It's going to keep me super warm this winter!!

    • @JKDHandmade
      @JKDHandmade  2 года назад +1

      Hi. Yes it will. You will have to adjust the number of chains for the scarf and the width and length of the hoodie. The steps for getting the hoodie rounded will always be the same regardless of the wool used

    • @JKDHandmade
      @JKDHandmade  2 года назад +3

      Hi Timothy. I’m sure that the scarf part of the pattern would be easy to adjust. You would have to make 2 adjustments to the hoodie (1) when you measure for the hoodie change the measurement from 9” to about 7,5” and (2) lessen the number of repeats for Round 2 and Round 3 - instead of 18 repeats, make it 14 repeats. I hope this helps.
