      I live in Chicagoland, Illinois, and if you are an American friend, I would love to get you in contact with some homeless shelters and homeless organizations around me because we have so many people each year who die in the subzero temperatures because of lack of warm clothes! Not nearly as dedicated to anything as most people are and I would make one and not want to make 50 more.. so I would not be a good candidate to make them on my own. But if you can spend a couple for some shelters around here that would be so incredible.

    Hello dear @DivingDucksCrochet , I am finally finished with this project. I crochet on and off mostly I taught myself how to crochet at 15 years old and right now I am 21. Sometimes I don't fully understand the lenghtes but you made it easier for me to understand by giving us centimeters. Thank you for explaining everyting plainly and giving me a grasp of why we are doing these steps in a easy manner. Sometime i get lost while doing a project because I do not understand which part we are making. This project took me totally 7 hours at my own pace. I made a lot of mistakes or was unhappy with my skill so i did it again and again. I am grateful that I finished this project in 2 weeks time I usually give up or get bored of the projects. For this project that you shared I am thankful

      You give me hope , I started crocheting, also taught myself. Got medium good,,lol. Got cancer , now I’m 63 , and my mind n hands don’t work well. I love this beautiful cowl with headress. It’s a fantastic video and your correct, well explained instructions. I can watch 20 video channels and I’ll be lucky if I find one person my brain can follow. Many people talk fast , or are about them doing the craft itself fast. I don’t learn like that anymore. So I’m delighted. Good luck with your project.

      Once you finish you'll have the hood attached to the "neck piece". Fold the neck piece inside out (inwards into the hood) and stop when the neck peice is pretty much inside the hood then put it on. I dont know if that made sense or answered your question but I tried :)

      I think if you want to make it wider, you would need to add some stitches on the edge of the ribbing instead so the hood will be wider and not the neck part. But I havent tried it. I would love to hear the result when you are done 🤗

    • @bigdelf
      @bigdelf Год назад +1

      @@jc0d67556 I am not a crochet pro at all so this might not be the best advice, but I am having the same issue.
      Instead of using single crochets I am using half double crochets (so that the stitches are taller, and it allows it to reach 14cm faster) you could also try double crochets which are a little bit taller than half double crochets.
      It was still getting a little bit too wide too fast so I am only doing the increase stitch at the end of each side, rather than doing the increase at the end, chaining, and doing another increase. So far it is working out much better

    • @samanthamitchell7355
      @samanthamitchell7355 Год назад +1

      In my experience that is normal, especially when you have tighter chains. If you continue through it should stop the curling. If it still curls when you have about 5 rows done then your chain may be too tight. When I first started making scarves and blankets I used to use a bigger hook to make the chains but as I kept going it got easier to get the chain tensioned right. Hope this helps!

    • @mei2hwang
      @mei2hwang Год назад +2

      if your first rows are curling ir means that you're doing it too tight, try making them a little bit loose and not pulling the yarn while you're doing single crochet

      Hello! Just a random person here: I also bought Honey bunny. 6 Super bulky 100g per skein. I barely touched my third skein. Needle size for crochet is a 7mm hook, but I used a 6mm.
      So it does work out, at least I needed even less. My measurements fit. What yarn are you using exactly? And did you measure your work? Sorry if this is a weird question, maybe your balaclava is just bigger by accident?
      I also am a bit confused, maybe it’s a country thing: I can only find 100g or 300g skeins of Honey Bunny. The regular and the Honey Bunny Big (the big is 10mm hook size, tho.)
      So are you sure that your Honey Bunny skein is 250g per skein?

      It van be, but I think if you need a hoodie like this, you might be okay with it being warm 😊

    Muy bonito puede ser en español?

    • @yardner1963

      You can choose Spanish in closed captioning which is the words spoken will be written in Spanish across the bottom of the video. To choose Spanish captioning click on the upper right corner of the video and a cog ⚙️ icon appears. From there you can choose CAPTIONS and a drop down menu will appear with language choices. I hope this was helpful 🧶

    I followed everything to the tee and this did not turn out like hers. I trusted the processed but all I did was waste my yarn and time, sorry but i don't understand why the edges of the hood have to be folded in just to make it look like the picture, if you don't fold it in it looks likes someone's first crocheting project. can you please show how to properly put it on cuz either that's the problem or the pattern to provided is messed up

      Hi 😊 The edges are supposed to be folded out. Not in.
      Try watching my other turtleneck video tutorial with the Brown one. In this video I show how to put it on.
      Hope it helps.

      The size of yarn, some measurements/directions given are different based on the yarn itself.

    Hello everyone! As I’m doing the increases for 14 rounds my final measurement horizontally measures roughly 43.5 cm. I understand that the type of yarn can affect this, but I believe the one I am using is a bit smaller than the one used in the video. Is anyone else getting this result? I’m confident it will not affect the end product drastically, but I just wanted to check in with others (:

    • @mangoslushie9892
      @mangoslushie9892 Год назад +1

      You can but it would be a ton more stitches and smaller yarn. Also You’d have to follow the measurements instead of stitches. She has another video with smaller yarn for a similar hoodie
