If reliability was the only thing to consider we’d all be carrying revolvers.
XD, CZ, Sig, M&P, Steyr m9A2, and others are every bit as reliable. A 1911 is my truck pistol and a XD 9 subcompact is my EDC. Shoot what you like…as long as you’re carrying it’s all good!
I don’t know why people think Glocks are reliable. Every one I’ve ever shot jammed relentlessly. I hate them. I once shot a hi point that didn’t jam through 3 mags, an over priced Glock once jammed 3 x’s in one mag. Definitely all Hollywood hype.
I agree with this comment. Nothing like a revolver won't jam and dont leave evidence. But hey were all greedy and adrenaline can very easy make u miss, so everyone want more shots but with practice and staying calm as possible wins the fight regardless. Mags have chances of Jams as well, never heard of such with revolvers but semi auto far more convenient and faster to most so think that were the line drawn. But a bullet is a bullet use is correctly and with practice and it will serves its purpose to kill regardless... be safe and only u can prevent forest fires 🔥 🙏 😅 practice pump paint , believe it or not, keep you trained to use your shots wisely.

@@joebuckles8967 Let me know when any of the clones get selected for law enforcement or military use and go through the testing required for them. Reliability and track record are the first things to consider when buying a gun to protect yourself with. The rest are simply range toys.
Sig, S&W to name a couple. Not clones, just improvements on good technology. Dont limit your selection of reliable, well built, ergonomic selections based on Glock fever. That being said, Glock is not a bad selection and you are well armed if you have one, along with multiple other brands with good track records. Not to mention the grip - oh but I did.. if you use a glock for self defense, make sure that it is the ONLY one you use, or your sight picture will not align perfectly - which is the only reason I won't have a glock - and stress makes you go back to your instincts/muscle memory/training. Glock is the ONLY handgun I have ever had that issue with - and I can't even begin to count the different number of firearms I have used - therefore not a good selection for me. I can shoot one and have fun with it but my life is dependent upon another good firearm that has well over a thousand rounds thru it without a single stutter. Glock isn't the end all be all - it is just another well built dependable firearm.

@@joebuckles8967 I own both Sig and S&W and they are great but the Glock is still the one I have by my bedside and I have never experienced any trouble with it or the other Glocks I have owned. I also recently got a Canik Mete SFX which is a joy to shoot. Have not had any problems with it either. I just trust the Glock more than the others since I have shot it the most without any problems.
once i got my canik rival i got rid of all 4 of my glocks, now in days most companies pistols are just reliable as glocks with better triggers better grip,glocks are just reliable junk to me anymore, love that trigger on my canik rival

Thing is, just about every hand gun designer’s goal is to beat the Glock. Not another manufacturer’s design. Always the Glock. That alone tells you all you need to know about the Glock.
I rarely hear it even considered in the guns I buy. Most gun manufacturers don't even think about Glock as a competitor

Seems like an odd business strategy NOT to consider the most popular, highest selling handgun brand in the world as competition. Since Glock has most of the gun world’s attention & sales, that leaves all the remaining handgun manufacturers to fight over the remaining market crumbs.
That's a good thing on Glock people should thank them for. It's easy to beat a Glock these days when it comes to appeal, but to truly beat it you also have to make an extremely safe gun.. It has to have a great barrel and the rest of the moving parts also have to be quality metal or polymer. It needs to function well with a variety of ammo. It has to last for many thousands of rounds without becoming iffy or needing a barrel change. Not all of Glock's competitors out there are accomplishing those things.
Cz is way better than any glock.
When I bought my Glock 23, about 20 years ago, it wasn't my first hañd gun, maybe my third one. I took it to a local gunsmith before taking it home. He polished the trigger mechanism to 3 pounds ànd installed iridium sighs. It is the most accurate of the half dozen hand guns l have owned.
I did quickly learn to keep my thumb away from the slide.😊
Between Garand Thumb and Honest Outlaw, I'm convinced the M&P M2.0 is the most reliable pistol ever made lol. Topped Garand's frozen test, and absolutely dominated their mud test, and Honest Outlaw allegedly left one out in the elements all winter and it fired immediately.
The PDP did not do well in muddy test. They had to do MORE than the actual test to get the M&P to fail lol. It was the ONLY gun that performed flawlessly after being drenched in mud. The Desert Eagle was a close second via sheer brute force.
I refuse to buy a gun that’s named military and police and lots of us feel that way smith ruined their good gun design with a stupid name. Change it to cmp civilian military and police and I’ll buy.

The PDP deserves top spot on this list-I agree. I'll also add that Canik and Springfield should have been squeezed on as well. I know it doesnt get much love, but my Springfield XDM Elite 10mm has close to 1000 rounds through it (some really good ammo, but mostly crap aluminum cased Blazer) with no issues whatsoever. I even once accidentally loaded some 10 mil into my 45 mags (I own both) and and it still functioned perfectly. Same is teu of my 45, except i only have about 200 rounds through it.
This is straight from the box with no lube or cleaning yet. I trust them both with my, and my families lives.

Bought my first glock 23 when I was 21! I'm 54 now and never had an issue with it! Now my EDC for two years is the glock 29! 10mm just seems to be the right fit! That being said I do have many others! Such as 4 Caniks , Hellcat, and S&W! But glock is my go to!

Canik has a good trigger pull. The rest is good until the parts ware out. I have retired two of them with less than 5000 rounds.

There are so many reliable handguns out there, many costing considerably less than Block. I've got $400 in my P07 and its never let me down.

The reality so many ignore when it comes to discussion of carry weapons. Capacity ends when the state limits you to 10 rounds - California unless you are a LEO.
How is a well regulated militia, well regulated (efficient) when they can't have semi auto rifles magazines over 10 rounds fully automatic action , pistol grips, gun rosters for example ca can't have a pistol under 4 inch barrel etc

I decided on the Walther PDP full size duty pistol. Since then i have sold all my Glocks.
Should have put shadow systems 920p in there, I been a die hard Glock guy until I got this one and love it
I have multiple SIGs, a Cajunized CZ P-01 (great handgun), a Glock 19... but I always come back to my H&K pistols. Pay the piper up front, and get an H&K USP Compact, or P2000 (either LEM or traditional DA/SA hammer fire), and you'll never need to reconsider. Both are easily concealable in a quality IWB holster. If you want more capacity, get a few 17 round magazines, and X Grip adapters - and they're still easily concealable. Old design? Yep, no question about it - however both have Glock reliability but don't feel like a brick in your hand.

I have a Glock handgun since 1998. The one key factor to remember is that Gaston Glock redefined the concept of how a gun is made. Almost all modern designs owe their influence from Glock. Especially in regards to polymer handgun build materials.
HK made and sold the first polymer framed, striker fired pistol, the VP70. It carried 18 rounds but had a miserable trigger and didn't sell well. Too advanced for its time. HK makde their VP70 12 years before Glock made a workable design. Glock did reduce the parts to just over 30 parts, and got lots of LE departments to try it by literally giving them away. Since it's a budget office who decides what equipment to buy, no ine can turn down free products. Once several large departments went over to Glock, all the small ones fall in line and bought into Glock.

Also, first polymer striker award goes to HK VP70, my first ever carry. I owned it less than year. It was horrible in every respect. Moved on to .45 Govn’ in 1987 and held on to that for decades.
I own a lot of different platforms and really like the CZ P 10 C on P 07. Glock boring? They are proven & run, that’s all I care about when I carry one.
I couldn't get used to Hellcat Pro's grip angle but recently bought the Taurus Gx4 Carry that's grip is excellent.

There is a proliferation of these kinds of YT review/top5/top10 channels where they put stock footage, or footage taken from other channels over the product they're talking about, and use some almost too-hard-to-tell AI voice reading their script. I can't tell if this is one of them or not, but because I've seen hundreds of these kinds of fake channels I now hate them. There's no human element behind the content. It seems souless. And the grip angle sucks too - I shot my Belgian Browning since 1973 - It's still a Mercedes . Smooth, sleek, accurate and reliable
DONT FORGET!!!! when ever you buy a firearm that is a small player, BUY LOTS OF MAGS when you buy your firearm, i have an FNG ( Browning Clone ) and cannot find a mag to save my life.
With a Timney trigger and some slide work my G21 is perfect for a backup weapon and it didn't break the bank.
Too bad you had to modify it in the first place? It should have come with a good trigger and sights to begin with.

I've shot a Glock a few times before. I don't hate them but I don't like the setup on them. I was raised up shooting a 1911 my grandfather had from WWI. I love how they are made.l love the trigger set up.l love the feel. They shot very true. The accuracy is top line. I just love everything about them. People tell me they hate them because of the safety on them. If you draw with the thumb on the safety, and as you bring it up to aim ,ues you thumb to take the safety off.If you train and put many hours in and do the work l think you will like them too. I have a Kimber custom l traded for back in the late 1990s. I've put somewhere around 75,000-100,000 rounds through it and it never let me down not one time.l can shot it better than the 38 other pistols l have. Don't get me wrong...l love all rifle's and pistols.....
if it wasn't for the functionally and reliability, I wouldn't have sprung for a Glock.
No denying Glocks work, but there are other offerings that are available that suit my needs just fine.

Glock will forever be in my top 3. Depending on the situation and requirements, Glock never fails. SIGS,Beretta, Smith, and the whole gambit are great pieces. I tend to go with military issue pieces, especially special forces lifelines.

Well, bit of a whoopsie moment; the thing is, it's never the tool. It's all about the operator; you can be sportin' a Glock or a minigun and I can take you out with a rock or a stick, so long as I'm quiet and I get the drop.

I came to conclusion that MadMan hate Canik and Glock. Every shooting range or competition shooting range i go; 10 out of 6 of them have Canik and Glock.
Everyone talks about how great Glock is, then through hundreds of dollars in after market parts to make the thing actually shoot able. Only to find out they need to add more parts because now the gun isn't reliable. Glock was relevant in the 80's and 90's, but not to much today with lack of innovation, fewer out of the box options, and more expensive than other pistols that do things better, for less money. Glock 👎

The Hellcats are cool, but the original XDMs rock. I bought a 4.5" 9mm years ago, and it sent all my full-size Glocks to my safe.
Always been a big fan of the Walther handguns. They just feel right in the hands.

Well from my years of experience shooting all brands and variations of pistols. There’s two different type of people, those that shoot glocks well and those that shoot something better.

None of those pistols had a manual safety.
And yet you ignored Canik completely. I have two, TP9 Elite SC is and awesome pistol. My TP9 Combat Elite is one of the most complete pistol out of the box.
Could add Beretta apx also. Very reliable & affordable gun. Shoots smooth right out the box. Can grab one for about 5 something

CZ used to be so underrated. german black market was flooded by the ČZ 75 back in the day and it was the kalaschnikow handgun. cheap, realiable in all conditions, easy to strip / clean and not to forget a really smooth ironsight accuracy for that time. i never was a fan of nines, but before Czechoslovakia became EU you got the ČZ plus 1 k mixed ammo for about 150 deutsche mark. check out todays prices for ČZ Pistols. And i cannot remember one ČZ in any Action Movie and i've seen thousands of movies lol....no hype like beretta ( early) , glock,browning hi and today even hk and sig. but if i had the chose between those nines i would always go with ČZ !and many ppl who used those fame guns shot with my Peters stahl ( thats same as ČZ ) and they were seduced in seconds !
I’ll have to find out the difference between the PDP and the PPQ. I have the PPQ and wow, hard to imagine anything better out of the box.

About CZ P10: P10 factory trigger is definitely better than Glock factory trigger. P10 grip is also a bit more comfortable - this is of course individual, but for most people its true. But the P10 is definitely not a better weapon in terms of long-term reliability. Proof? Created and produced in the Czech Republic, but Czech army and police do not use it... they use Glocks
I own very many pistols, including Glocks, I really like my S&W M&P 2.0's in 9mm and .40 S&W 5" FDE, but I love my Glocks too❤

Honestly, I would rather the Ruger. However, my department only allows S&W, Glock or Beretta unless you were carrying a different brand before they decided on the 3

Just go to a gun range that let's you rent different styles, caliber, etc and see which you can shoot best. If you can't shoot it well, it's not going to serve you well and you won't want to train with it.

I would of added the canik in the place of the FN and ruger sr9 instead of the american pistol and prolly the hk9 instead of the psa dagger. (I love the dagger but not in the top10 list). And the hellcat for the staccato P
They don't make the SR9 line anymore, that line was replaced with the American line.
Glocks are pretty much affordable across the board.. I like the Sig/Walther the best out of all the others you mentioned.
For a gun maker to be a Glock killer they need to have as much years behind them as Glock and some 😂
Why do you slow your videos down to .75? Setting the video at 1.25 makes it much better to view.

I admit the thumbnail alone made me want to see what the Glock only people would have to say.😅 My self, I really like glock. Between G17 and G19, I've carried at least one Glock for a really long time. I've got some of the guns mentioned in this video. The FN 509 and CZ 10C are two that I really enjoy shooting. Someone mentioned CANIK on the comments. I have the TP9 SFx, and I really like it. They include their own holsters with the guns. They are pretty nice holsters, too. It's got a nice trigger with a short reset. Now, I'm looking at maybe getting the TP9 Elite SC. I think it's going to happen, but I haven't fully decided.

only out of box striker fire trigger better than pdp is the ppq.... but its not drilled for red dot.
