- I double dog dare you to tire of this chord progression. If you don't like having to remember a bunch of seemingly unrelated chords, I implore you to move on. BUT if you love melodies that meander through several keys on their journey back home, then Kokomo by The Beach Boys is for you! So you're from Salem dude. This is one of my all time favourite beachboys songs. It just transports yo to paradise instantly. You can be having the crappiest day ever and this just lifts you above everything ❤
Neil Diamond Play Me. My mother listened to this on vinyl over and over and over. And so I was inspired to play acoustic guitar and sing ever since I was a young boy (and now I’m old but still loving it).

Late to the party on this one, popped up today for some reason.
I was in 2nd year of ‘big school’, as we call it here in the UK, and although I had heard the Beach Boys via my dad, this was kinda of the song I discovered and it reminds me of a long hot summer in 88 with the summer breeze blowing in to my bedroom of an evening.
It was probably raining though 😂but that’s where this song takes me.

This song serves as an inward soundtrack that kicks off in my brain whenever I am trying not to get annoyed at being wronged 🤣. Brain will just go "have this". You can't stay angry with this song playing.

This song reminds me of the summer before senior year of high school. I was part of program sponsored by the university of Texas to study geology around the US and we went to Florida for a week. We took a bunch of pictures and put together a slide show with this song. I met my best friend on those summer trips and flew in an airplane for the first time, so kind of a coming of age song for me 😌

Dude. I love your lesson style! Very straightforward, incorporating vocal cues, explains a bit of theory. I’ve never found such a palatable lesson channel for my skill level. Way to trim the fat and be funny as well 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Fun game. I think I’ve narrowed it down to 2 songs as my first “music is fun to listen to over and over and over so long as you can rewind the tape and luckily stop it in the correct spot.” It was Electric Avenue (not sure who sang it) and I Love A Rainy Night - Eddie Rabbitt. My brother and I got a boom box for Christmas with an equalizer and we were big time! Quite sure we wore that Eddie Rabbit tape out. I’m guessing that was about 1982 and puts me in kg also. Good memories, thanks Ryan! Oh and good lesson also;)

@@RyanLendt not going to lie I like it too reminds me of the movie "Cocktail"😂 just surprised you and Matt never did a Brad tutorial or cover. If you do happen to get to it I would love it if you did the song Lift. I met Stone after a Brad gig in NYC and he told me that was one of the first songs he wrote. And didn't know if he was referring to the band or himself.

My song that did that would be The Final Countdown by Europe. It was also the 80’s but reminds me of sitting at the kitchen table playing with the helmet from my Action Man (not a euphemism) by putting it on my knuckles and drawing eyes on my fingers 😂
he definitely was! i remember a bandana, dark hair, and aviators. The final countdown will forever remind me of a young student I had who was a VERY talented guitarist, and who also happened to be blind and lacked many social skills. When he performed the final countdown he would leap all over the place and scream WAY too loud into the mic and fall on the ground, etc. His enthusiasm was infectious. I should do that song sometime :)

that was an inside joke with myself - being 6 when I heard that lyric I thought he was really taking his mom on vacation and I still have the picture in my mind of someone sitting on the beach with their mom. I also heard the term "sexy legs" in another song and was entrenched in the notion that sexy meant "really really fat"
