Keith really was a soft spoken man when he felt that he didn't have to live up to his reputation as a wild man. I had a teacher in junior hi, her older sister dated Daltrey on the 76 US tour. She got to meet The Who and said the thing that struck her the most was these four tough hard rockers were some of the nicest guys she ever got to meet.
Great to see another side of Keith being displayed here. A very generous and helpful thing to do, although people are always quick to seize on anything negative.
Exactly, never heard the ox, daltrey, or Townshend reference this, but Pete ALWAYS has negative things to say.
For me the best drummer that ever lived, RIP keith .
I really wish Keith were still alive. The greatest drummer in the world, and though he could be a bit mad at times(putting it lightly, lol!), he seemed to be a terrific person who especially loved his fans. We loved him then and love him still, and miss him terribly!
Keith was a bit of a big kid at heart and you can see he loved being involved in this..He had his problems but i think this showed he had a heart to...good video..
What an awesome thing to do for those kids. RIP Keith Moon...
Truly incredible, mate. Thanks for this amazing footage showing the soft side of Mooney. This is a true example of how generous he was. He knew the cash would just be partied away anyways! He will never be replaced.
...RIP Moonie...
So proud of Keith. . everyone was out of step except him.
I've been waiting to use that joke for a long time. Seriously, I love Keith, he was one of a kind.
how could I not love that...beautiful.
A side nobody ever saw of Keith, he looks great in this clip....what a bloody shame he was gone within a year.....
Thanks a lot for posting this unique footage showing yet another side of Keith Moon - the great thing about his style was that he made his kit sound like drumbands colliding: listen to "Cobwebs and Strange" or "The Kids Are Alright". He was also the last of the great English Court Jesters alias Shakespearean Fools, along with Peter Cook and Peter Sellers. Bit of a chat?
I love Keith. We need more people like him in music and life in general
How lovely! What a truly nice clip. At last, something that shows what a generous and caring guy Keith was. Yes he had his problems and could be a total b*****d when he was drunk (who can't?), but he was also an extremely generous man, and this was a lovely thing for him to do.
You are sorely missed Dear Boy...
So good to watch Moonie here doing this..what a drumming hero he (still is) to so many people..Long may his leg-end live!
Thanks for uploading this. Moonie looks so nervous here. What a great thing for him to do. Gawd bless 'im.
What happened to Tony Roma's restaurant
Ya know,he may very well have been sober here.
He’s quite clearly off his tits. But it’s a wonderful thing to do and who cares either way. Fantastic memories and love to all Keith/Who fans. 🇬🇧🎸❤️🙏🏼
Lovely little film! Very nice to see it. Thanks for sharing! !!
I just love this clip!!!
There was so much to Keith. Try as I might I just can't figure out what sort of a man he'd be today. I like to think he'd be a national institution adored by all.
Holy shit! I've never seen him so serious.
He actually might be sober in this clip! I cant believe it. Funny.
The Best of British." I used to play the Bugle but there was more money in drums". Miss you Keith
Would love to hear those cadets recall their memories of meeting Keith that day what a star 🌟 ❤
Great drummer, fantastic character, RIP Keith Moon John Entwhistle..The Avver 'alf o' the 'oo!!
Fucking INCREDIBLE footage! I've been a Who fan for 15 years and it still sends a shiver down my spine when I see something new. Thankyou so much!
The greatest!! Keith was the full embodiment of Rock&Roll!!
I can't believe this exisits !!!! HUGE Keith fan . I would have been a 2 year old boy in Miami then ,ha !
I miss keith every day. What a mad champ he was.
Top man Keith, gawd bless ya Son
Wow, thank you so much for this clip! I love seeing any new footage of Keith that I haven't seen before.....there's so many facets to him, thanks for showing me one more and keeping his legacy alive.
he's so...SERIOUS in this video. SHEESH.
I went to brecknock late 60 s and left in 1974 Mr Peters , mr alaway, miss barklett, miss wood .mrs kaufman ........... some names to remember and you Stephen ......... Richard ..............
A lovely guy. I miss him. 🥲❤
nice low key entrance as usual from keith
Keith Moon was a Giant of the Sixties! Of course, the media treated him like a clown. He should have been embraced by the establishment as a positive influence to get kids into music. Of course they chose to hound him mercilessly!
what a great person :')
aah, they all looked a bit uncomfortable bein interviewed, even Keith! Gawd bless 'im! spoze it WAS all a bit novel, a reporter comin to your scout group, let alone Moonie!. Fantastic to see any rare or unknown footage of the great man himself tho, brilliant post, thank you!
Hi Stephen,
Many thanks for posting this brilliant clip.
KM was a real talent & by all accounts a gent.
I do not know if it's just me but everytime I watch a vid with Keith in it he makes me crack up just looking at his expresssions. Oh, how I would love to have gotten drunk with him. Could use someone like him at the Thanksgiving dinner I have to endure tomorrow.
Thanks for posting this one!
He is so cute here
Thanks a lot for posting this precious document!
Beautiful clip. Thank you so much for this ❤️🙏🏼👍🏼
awwww. this is fantastic. Keith even dressed up for the occasion. awesome.
Brilliant. Thanks for posting.
What a gent...
Great footage, Stephen. Thank you for sharing it.
Thanks for the upload!!
Absolutely Beautiful ! Thank you !
it is strange but he has an almost haunted look in his eyes and looks quite freaked at point when being interviewed. He's usually much more 'lairy' and seemingly self assured when ive seen other interviews.especially at 2:28 ish..he kinda zones out and in again.really weird.
Awesome! To me , clips like this are what I enjoy most about youtube. Rare or forgotten film or video that someone un-earths and shares with the world.
Thankyou for uploading this :)
Proud to say that I too was there - though not a cadet.
Gracias por publicar tan valioso video, un saludo afectuso desde Chiapas MÉXICO
Fantastic!. What a great find. Thank you for sharing.
Brilliant!!! Tear to my eye!
what a lovely man.
See... how Keith can conduct himself when he's sober.. what a good looking distinguished British man.💋

I reckon he was a real good, fun mate to have!!!!! What a bloke!!
This is absolutely priceless, i live very near there, and it is a fabulously funny and endearing find, Reggie
and this uploaded just days short of what would've been moonie's 62nd birthday. what a treat. thanks for sharing! :D
So funny and handsome.
That was pretty cool. You never see him that serious! Any more like that?
very touching, thanks!
fantastic!
-Thankyou for taking the time to upload this clip,i do not underestimate your patience involved, admired the Who for some time, this has been an unusual discovery for me.awesome stuff!
Keith Moon is awesome!!
bless him
What a gentleman.
A good interviewer should never make the interviewee(s) uncomfortable (or the viewer for that matter)! Why not ask Moon how he developed his drumming style, and how this was shaped by his experience in the cadets?
Top bloke on the skins👍
Hi could you please post the John video?
Unfortunately i have to agree, read " Dear Boy" the autobiography and it tells all!
"He'll pass" Smart kid.
shall I give this clip 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺and 🍻cheers ✅🥁
Yes, you were extremely lucky you got to meet moon! Somehow going to the Garden of Remembrance at Golders Green Crematorium just isn't the same thing...
"bit fast"...ha ha! Keith didn't expect that.
@chriscritsini Keith Scorcese I LOVE !!
He is simply commenting on Keith's bearded look which Scoresese had at the same time (see The Last Waltz).
Thanks for posting this from 46 years ago. Great footage. So you are the kid in the white shirt @ 4:03?
Hi.
Thanks for the message. Yes that’s me.
la prematura muerte de keith me pone triste.. cada vez q veo algo como ésto me tira pabajo..
I wonder if he ultimately wrecked that bass drum.
I go to that school
genuine fukin geezer!! why does it always have to be bout the drink n drugs moonie was a down to earth fukin man, remember this was the spoilt 60s crew who had it all...scuse the pun!! nice one keith u legend!!
My go d Keith being witty and charming.probably invited them all down the boozer after
Cobwebs and Strange Part 2.
one of those kids looks like jamie bell aka billy elliot
Serious, yes...
Sober, I have my doubts.
I'm not just saying this for effect. I am a huge Keith Moon fan. But it appears to me that he is under the influence of something.
Hey, who's that next to you in the jeans and red top?
@badmuddafadda he wasn't even 32 here-he's jus 30-his birthday is end of aug & this says it was filmed may~june so he still had a couple months 2go before turning 31-i don't thing he looks 50, i'd say 45 but still tragic-i think thers so much more 2 the story of moon than any1 ever knew-ive seen a lot of this guy &he really puts life in2 other pples yet to do so takes it out of his own-totally selfless yet self destructive& he always avoids answering questions directly about himself in interview
Errrrm ...OK !
I think naturally he was quite shy, like his great friend Oliver Reed. He comes across quite uncomfortable and restrained here and himself - must have been trying to dry out around this point. Some interviews I've seen him stripping off, being rowdy (in a funny way) and what have you.
@chriscritsini No, that was Martin Scorsese, the directer of Taxi Driver, who played the part of the man who was going to shoot his wife. I'm guessing you probably already knew this, and you are just goofing. He does kind of look like him though.
only 32 but looks 52 in truth
Kieth isn't TOO incapacitated here, is he?
Hi.
He was drinking .
They filmed Keith’s car coming into the playground twice .
I was standing pretty near the car and I could see him with a large bottle.
He was charming 😊
i bet half the people in this video are in prison now lol
