The fact that my internet connection is already built-in to the phone means I don't hit with speed caps for tethering or hotspot usage. Fantastic!! What's great about this set up is how affordable it is vs buying a laptop that would be as powerful. Direct mobile internet is also big plus
It depends on what you need and if you have a Galaxy S9, S10, Note 9, 10, Tab s4, 5e or S6. In this case you can save money buy just buying the screen and the keyboard.
I like all the individual parts, they all seem super cool and useful and I can see myself getting that screen sometime soon. At the end of the day though, you seem to have a laptop that is falling apart. you probably also have to buy a bag to hold your loose screen and loose battery and loose keyboard and your mouse and your xbox controller. It seems super fun to put together if I already have all the parts but it seems impractical to actually buy all the parts for the specific goal of roughly approximating a laptop.
I'd recommended the HP x3 lapdock. I've Tested on Note8, Note10+, S10, and S10+. You can also screen share with it and has an micro hdmi port port for a second screen. It has 3 USB C ports. One is a video in for if you hardwire your phone in, it has a built in battery, keyboard that lights up and a track pad (thought it sucks), along with a very thin profile and aux Audio Out, because there are no speakers. Cost me about $270, but I happened to find it while it was on sale
I love your setup. Only thing I would have to say about this is that if you want a big screen, you can get a much bigger monitor for cheaper. I am using my Dex on my ASUS ROG PG screen (27").
I used Dex for backup productivity and I have found that the Rii keyboard mouse combo works great and only uses 1 usb slot. It's not the best since it needs the dongle, but my dock has 1 port on it and it does the job. Rii RKM709
There is another use for Dex that I wish they promoted more because it is pretty awesome if you travel a lot. We use Dex connected to a hotel TV to have access to anything our phone can do. I'm posting this on a hotel TV right now and we were watching movies last night.
I love this set-up, just wish the phone with dex enabled wasn't so pricey! eventually this tech will trickle down to cheaper phones (I hope), when that day comes I'll upgrade my phone to a new one just for the sake of powerful portable emulation and basically a cheap efficient laptop replacement. Would love to play some Gamecube games on-the go!
Hey ETA! I think you may already know this, but the dolphin emulator also supports Wii emulation! It's great for things like Mario Kart Wii! If you dump your original wiis nand it gives you access to online play. I'd say give it a shot! (Only if you want to though)

This configuration allows sharing of the Display while doing a sales presentation to clients - RUclips videos, PowerPoint slide decks, etc. plus the other "Desktop" feature offered with the DEX - email, Google, Facebook, etc. And send/receive text messages or make phone/conference calls. Easy to setup when meeting with clients at a coffee shop or other informal environment. I can also use the Display panel with my ThinkPad Helix laptop and have a second display. I have an S10+ and I've never heard of DeX lol I dont think it is something I will use but that monitor is something I'm interested in!
I know what to get you for christmas a trackpad lol
😂
Lol what would you do if all game controllers had track pads instead of joysticks
@@corymillen9824 the steam controller has one
imagine how long we have come with smartphone remember few years back when phone was thing for calling and texting damnn! these days it almost replaces laptop for lots of peoples thanks android and samsung for awesome deX
I can relate but the young generation will never understand this because its there since they came to life
lol
I just read the thumbnail as "Portable SeX station" ouch
oh you N A S T Y
Ouch
I bought a samsung galaxy note 10 plus and so amazing phone. A powerlful phone. I love it
thoose mobile "gamers" are really going wild theese days
if u dont know already the dex mode is only applied when its the only sours of power out so when u hook up the battery the monitor uses that as its power sours and then passes threw extra power to charge the phone
in my opinion notebooks are done after seing this kind of thing... the best part is when you run ubuntu on the thing and that's the moment I say ok notebooks are super done.
Fantastic!! What's great about this set up is how affordable it is vs buying a laptop that would be as powerful. Direct mobile internet is also big plus
This looks cool, but isn't it just easier to buy a laptop lol
not really, especially if you already own a phone that can do this
It depends on what you need and if you have a Galaxy S9, S10, Note 9, 10, Tab s4, 5e or S6. In this case you can save money buy just buying the screen and the keyboard.
I would rather have a phone that can turn into a Laptop, versus just having a laptop...
@@ateez_stan777 For the money all this costs you can get an amazing phone and a great laptop that can play real games not just android trash. But ok.
@@JebesNikove stfu with yo sheep headass... Can I play GameCube, Wii, 3ds, and Ps2 games on iPhone? No? That's what I thought!
8:15 The beat synced well with wolverine's hits
Man, get a chromebook.
Exactly. All these extra accessories just for a portable DEX is just not worth it.
Snapdragon is more powerfull than intel core m ;) wait till galaxy s12 comes with an amd gpu 🤣🤣🤣
@@dimitrios0072
If someome is welling to pay over 1000$ on the phone and tge accessories, then he can get a decent chromebook a little over 500 $
I agree completely.... At the end of the day this setup is still on Android. At least on a nice chromebook I have the chance of putting Linux on it.
I pretty much have same setup great video
THE BEST SETUP 👑🥳
I have Samsung Galaxy S10 plus Beast For Gaming Me Free Ram Now GB 4.5
Dang , Like that Key Board. Wanting One for my Atomic Pi and other portable toys. Way better then the finger button key pad remotes.
I'm definitely gonna use this. Awesome video
The Dex is top... DXTOP! Great Vídeo! \0/
I think this has actually a lot of potential ;D
I like all the individual parts, they all seem super cool and useful and I can see myself getting that screen sometime soon. At the end of the day though, you seem to have a laptop that is falling apart. you probably also have to buy a bag to hold your loose screen and loose battery and loose keyboard and your mouse and your xbox controller. It seems super fun to put together if I already have all the parts but it seems impractical to actually buy all the parts for the specific goal of roughly approximating a laptop.
I never get why people are so obsessing over dex 😂😂 how of these people will ACTUALLY use this feature if they had the phone?? 😂😂
I so hope Google builds something like this into Android! It's the only thing I'm jealous of Samsung devices for.
Thanks for sharing , I've been looking for something like this.
Thanks for sharing this ETA. Running that Nvidia Geforcre streaming thing you set up a while back could be awesome on this.
I would love to see a notebook style Dock with the screen, keyboard and track pad with all the ports in one handy unit.
Nice setup ETA
Thank u for your videos 🙂
That's a pretty sweet setup! Nice video.
I love your setup.
Only thing I would have to say about this is that if you want a big screen, you can get a much bigger monitor for cheaper. I am using my Dex on my ASUS ROG PG screen (27").
I am watching this video with Samsung Dex right now!
I'd love to see how dosbox will fare on dex. A desktop setup for dosbox is exactly what is required.
Brother I love your content.keep it up 🔥🔥
❤😍✌❤😍I want one
Good work brother❤❤
This is what the future should look like!!!!!!!
The Dream Cast was well ahead of its time. Probably ten years to early to the party.
I used Dex for backup productivity and I have found that the Rii keyboard mouse combo works great and only uses 1 usb slot. It's not the best since it needs the dongle, but my dock has 1 port on it and it does the job.
Rii RKM709
Logitech K830 is a pretty great bluetooth keyboard / track pad combo, if anybody is looking for something better than that foldable guy.
nice set up I should try it on my note 10+ it’s looks great
There is another use for Dex that I wish they promoted more because it is pretty awesome if you travel a lot.
I would love to have had this setup yesterday in the Galaxy Cup
DEX setup for doing sales presentations: Note 9, Morphie 15k Battery, ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth Keyboard with TrackPoint, UPERFECT 14" LED Display plus two USB-C cables. All items fit snugly in a 14"x 10" protective sleeve. But the former configuration is very portable and lightweight as I always have my Note 9 with me and having everything in a slim carrying case is very handy and not as heavy as carting my notebook computer around. Thanks Samsung. :)
You can build a really sick lightweight lap-arcade out of this. Just mount the screen to the back of an arcade stick and put a Raspberry Pi inside
