I do. Sadly, quite every time a version is released because on my specific HP PC, HP fixes A LOT, but A LOT of security vulnerabilities, some of them even being severe in some cases. yes, i know, i shouldnt do that every time, but since security vulnerabilities are fixed, like a lot, well, I consider in this case that the BIOS updates specifically for me need to be done

for those who see what i said here, dont update ur bios like i do every time unless there are serious issues that are fixed and affect u. i repeat, i am doing it for a very good reason cus i wanna keep myself secure, otherwise i would avoid the updates

@@krishnakantaacharjya5558 If you feel that update is really needed, you can download it and update manually. Keeping an inverter for pc is compulsory because it should not be turned off while updating abruptly with power failure. Though you don't need every bios update sometimes it will increase the speed of pc and graphics too.

A tip for anyone trying to do this : make sure to look up recovery methods for your specific motherboard before flashing, in case you do end up with a bricked system. Not all, but many motherboards either have a backup ROM of the original factory BIOS (this is also known as the DualBIOS) or allow you to retry the flashing from a USB drive using a recovery utility or some other method. Even if you have DualBIOS, make sure you know how to activate it in case things do go wrong (some boards auto reflash if the checksum is incorrect, others require either pressing a button combination or flicking a switch on the actual motherboard). If all of this fails, you can manually reprogram your BIOS chip or send the motherboard back to the manufacturer.

I'll be honest, one thing I've never done to date is updated my bios, simply because 100% every time I've bought a board brand new with the original bios version that specific unit was supplied with, it's always worked pretty well, but never to date have I ever purchased a board with an advertised "updated" bios that has not had a lot of problems.
Could just be my luck, but you can see why I'm scared away from updating the bios if the current version I have suits my needs, haha

I have a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master. The bios is up to date. There was an important security update with one of the recent bios updates so that's the last one I did. B550 Aorus Master is such a weird mobo! It has 3 PCI-e gen4 m.2 slots! Direct to processor too. It steals bandwidth from the graphics slot which will revert to 8x (gen 4) when you have more than one m.2 drive plugged in.

My motherboard is pretty old now, there are BIOS updates listed on the manufacturer site, but, they don't recommend them for Pinnacle Ridge processors, which is what I currently have. One day, I do plan to build a newer system and the board I have in mind is the Pro version of yours, so this video will come in handy whenever I get round to all the upgrades. Cheers for sharing.

BIOS Flashback is also useful if you brick a computer because of a bad BIOS Flash although it's not 100% it does work the vast majority of the time. Personally I have a UPS so I don't have to worry about a power outage during a BIOS update. Last time I had a problem it was either a 486DX-100 or a 1st gen Pentium back when they still used socketed EPROMs so I was able to just pull the chip and program it in a dedicated EPROM flasher. With the right tools you can reprogram a SMT EPROM in situ but it's not something the average person can do and the tools will cost you as much as a new motherboard so it's generally not cost effective unless you already have the tools.
If you are building your own systems you really need to update the BIOS because if you buy this same MB (I have the exact same one but without WiFi} today it's likely going to have the 1005 BIOS on it .... I'm surprised you didn't have USB problems which plagued a lot of X570 motherboards with the older BIOSes

Think I remember years ago BIOS chips were in QFPs in sockets and you could fairly easily obtain replacements or prog them with the right gear offboard. Not sure why they made BIOS chips physically hard to get. Also maybe Laptop BIOS upgrades are safer due to battery backup? Not sure on this cuz I've never burned a laptop BIOS during a power cut.

I literally can't update my BIOS. I don't need to, but if I ever needed to, I won't be able to do so. I bought a prebuilt and the company for some reason renamed the BIOS so that if I use a BIOS flash or any sort of software it will brick it. I have a chance to do it in some way I read, but it's the same, has a chance to brick it. Lame.

Also, another moment when u need to update the BIOS is when a new version of Windows is released, like Windows 11, bcs in this case, manufacturers send bios updates to make ur motherboard be ready for Windows 11 and fully support it. thats what i did when Windows 11 got released too. That should be done to make sure that whenever u want to move on to the next version of Windows, u are fully supported and u wont go into issues. I mean, u still can run into issues if u go to a new version of Windows, bcs yeah, thats the life, but it lowers the chances of this with a bit

A couple months ago I discovered that MSI Center has an option to update your BIOS through MSI Center. I thought it was a good idea because i wouldn't have to deal with doing m-flash so I decided to do it. Well that was a mistake, I almost bricked my motherboard. The only way i was able to get it back was by downloading the bios from MSI's website on my laptop putting it on a thumb drive and using the bios flashback button on the back of my motherboard. If I didn't have a laptop and that bios flashback button i would have been f***ed. So guys update your bios exactly like how he is telling you, and if you have an MSI motherboard a DO NOT try to update your bios via MSI Center.

I have a pc that i built last year around June. Since then most AAA or high end games like cyber punk or the new helldiver keeps crashing after a couple of minutes of playing. I've tried deleting the GPU and reinstalling it but that didn't work. I'm not much of a computer genius and I'm not sure if updating the bios will help with this problem. Can anyone help?

Ever since I flashed my BIOS, I can't run a restart, as it won't post. I can shut it down and it starts again perfectly, but if I tell it to restart, it seems to work to the point the screen shuts off but then it just sits there doing nothing until I press and hold the power button to shut it down. Now the problem is I can't flash a new BIOS as once I tell it the file and it verifies the file, it wants to do a restart before starting the flashing process...but it never gets started as it can't do a restart.

ok if you have a new motherboard and a new gpu, but if you have a very old gpu, careful when updating your bios. had an experience when the updated bios no longer recognize the old gpu. the only solution was to return to the old bios.

Is there MSI software? I am having a bear of a time my motherboard is American trends I have the model number and I went to the website it's a Military 4 last updated in 2014 there is no listing for my series or board there, Windows 11 says the TPM can be updated to 2.0 I can't find it in the settings I thought if I updated it I would be able to find it, it's not in the advanced section I didn't see a header either to get a chip, AGGG frustrating!! I do fear bricking the board, it's not new and I don't think it has a rollback some of them do

I’m gonna try this as my RTX 3060 gaming laptop with 16gb ram and 144hz monitor has been having issues. It cannot seem to play games like Fortnite with direct 11 graphics even on the lowest setting because it stutters, freezes and in general effects my ability to play the game because I drop about 71 frames and I have tried many things to optimise this

Good morning, sorry to bother you, but I have seen that you are an electronics specialist and I was wondering if you could give me some solution. I have a Sindoh 3D 3DWOX 3D printer and when I inserted a USB flash drive to update the firmware, there was a power outage. Now only the Sindoh presentation screen is displayed and the image is frozen there. I have disconnected the printer from the power and even removed the internal battery from the motherboard but it remains the same. There is no way it does anything. It has been left frozen. I'm afraid the firmware has become corrupt. I have observed that the motherboard has some jumpers, I don't know if any of them have any use. Can you help me please? Any suggestions to force flashing the firmware? How can I find out which chip on the printer's motherboard is the EEPROM? Thank you very much in advance.

I hate doing this so much, because of how nerve-wracking it is, but it is a necessary evil.
