I have a 2007 240000 miles cam tower leaks a bit I use Castrol or Valvoline high mile syn blend ,since dipsticks are not accurate changing Every 2000 miles skid plate stays off😂
No, it’s actually recommended for certain temperature climates as shown in owners manual. Others report it helps w valve clatter and other known issues w the 5.7.
I have a 2020 Sport. With the 5.7 as yours. I also do my own oil changes. It does not take much of a piece of debris or sliver of metal to cut into your new O- rings on the oil filter housing. JUST WONDERING....... WHY WOULD YOU USE YOUR DIRTY MOTOR OIL TO LUBRICATE THEM??
Bro don't use cheap oil I have a 2015 TRD off-road Tundra I bought new I'm currently sitting at 407,000 miles zero issues no oil consumption test my oil periodically test fine I use Amsoil and I change mine every 10,000 miles
I would NEVER change my oil every 10k, don't care if you use the best oil there is, every 5k. Obviously it's cheaper to replace the oil than the engine or head gasket, just my opinion. I used to use Mobil 1 fully synthetic, but now I went to Valvoline restore and protect. If you read up on it it's a much better oil, I still change every 5,000 regardless. There is also an oil pan adapter you can put on your oil pan, so all you have to do is attach a hose and it will automatically drain. No need to remove a plug anymore.
I have the RCI skid plate and it makes changing oil a lot easier

LOL, 2016 and I hate that skid plate, hardest part of the job and a PITA. ( 50,000 No issues at all )
Also, 2015 Camry 180,000, same, NO ISSUES!
Is 5w30 bad for these engines?
