Never knew he was such a huge Fallout fan in addition to being Benny, RIP Matthew Perry.
He talked about that in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on the Ellen Degeneres show about him loving FO3 so much that the team working on New Vegas gave him the opportunity to voice Benny

Only just today I learned of the charity work he did for recovering addicts. Even though ultimately he will just be "that guy from Friends" its nice that people are making an effort to point out the actual good he did in life outside of the entertainment industry. RIP.

It's sad we lost the big guy. Just sad he died young, he's about my mom's age.
His work in Friends helped bring me into comedy, that show helped get me through a lot of hard times, and it was a constant in my life growing up. Chandler was always my favorite character, and Matthew really shined in it. Its a shame he was essentially type cast as the funny man and wasnt given the chance to really shine outside of that role.
I think his work with addicts will go down as his lasting impact. He met with presidents and received honors for his work for those struggling. Man truly was a gift to us, its a shame he isnt still with us. 54 is far too young. I hope in the end he was proud of the work he had done.
Looks like I'm gonna go Wild card in my next New Vegas playthrough in his memory.
You were an incredible person, and you'll be a part of this community and this world as Benny.
This is a very nice tribute. It's a very touching way to remember him as a human being, with passions & hobbies, unlike simply viewing him as a celebrity. Thank you.

I'd never heard of Perry before the news of his death came out, but he seems like he was a good guy and his work as Benny was incredible.

When René Auberjonois passed away I did a full Mr House run in FNV. I believe it was my 11th play-through of the game. Now in memory of Mr Perry's passing, I just started up a run to actually romance Benny and do all I can to save him in the end. How I wish the original Obsidian team that did FNV would get a chance to do a true successor to their masterpiece but be given enough time to actually do it!
I kept Benny alive in my last playthrough, in my eyes Benny was essentially just like the carrier. He was hired to do a job only to be attacked for doing it. Matthew will be missed, rip a legend

Considering the state his organs, especially his heart, were in after years of drug and alcohol abuse, the vaccine should have (hyperboly speaking) immediately caused him to keel over after the jab, if its potential side effects were to blame for his death. The fact that this didn't happen pretty much rules the vaccine out as the root cause.

I started replaying FONV about two weeks ago, going through a lot of side content before entering the strip. I entered the strip and ran into Benny a day before Mr. Perry died. His voice is unmistakable.

Fallout has always been lucky to score big name actors that still delivered fantastic lines, something that is almost nonexistent when it comes to actors doing voice work in film.

What did Benny know?
For real though, my guess is his hard life of chemical abuse had lefts its mark into his body even if he had been clean for years. There is a reason why it is called "burning candle from both ends". If his heart did not stop outright then he had a sudden loss of conciousness in a wrong spot, meaning in the bath tub, with disastrous results. But lets see what the pathologists have to say when they are done investigating, if the results are ever made public knowledge.
@@MaaZeusOpioids can cause permanent damage to your heart. He probably had heart failure or something like that and ended up drowning as a consequence.

I was waiting for something like this. I've been checking Nexus to see if anyone posted a mod commemorating him. He was part of this community, he had a passion for Fallout and played the games. But most importantly, as mentioned in the video, he was a selfless man who tried to help addicts get better.
