We have very similar stories, not until last year did I start having vivid flashbacks about what happened to me as a child and I'm now 29. I cried soo much last year, I was so angry. Wondering what did my parents eventually do to the guy, I'm wondering where he is now. God I was so angry last year that I could have gone to research about this lesson teacher to try to find him and deal with him myself. I remember he'd ask me to sit on his lap and he'll unzip his trouser. He'd take my little tiny 5 year old hands and begin to stroke himself. This happened daily. Mind you there were other young girls who came to do lesson at my home, I'm pretty sure he did same with them. It later evolved on to him backing me, then he'd blindfold me and then put his hands at the back while I'm being backed and start to play with my vagina while he asked the others to go and play its break time. Funny how the brain works right? How a 29 year old can still remember what happened when she was 5. It gets worse, I remember how he was caught and the exact day. He didn't know my mum was returning early that day. He had again blindfolded me and laid me on the couch that day (thank God for my mum coming) he had pulled down my panties and was playing with my vagina when my mum suddenly was asking the other kids what they were doing outside. He immediately yelled at me and asked me to go and play. Go and play like other kids but my mum knew something was off and I started to cry. I remember my dad suddenly being around and my older brother who was like 8 to all yelling at the guy and he begging. That's where my memory ends. But he never came back. This really really really affects victims. I'm currently pregnant and have anxiety on how I can ensure my baby is protected. Lots and lots of my friends also have their own stories. It's insane I really hope this guy is dealt with

The film company should be made liable for all costs incurred until court case settled. The film company can recoup what they can from the peeodo. The film company should have proper processes in place to safeguard their actors and everyone on site. I was touched inappropriately when I was 8 and 10 and it was done by my Bible club teacher at 8 and an older female cousin at 10 and I couldn't tell my parents tough i spoke to my older sister who had also touched by same Bible club teacher, together we were able to protect our little sister from him but our parents would have done more if we had confided in them. Now as an adult, I am a teacher and I have encountered several parents who still do not give their children sex education early, we teach it at school and try to guide pupils and students but we cant do too much. Children these days are so innocent and reach out to older people easily (hugs and embraces are so normal) they should be taught by parents to limit intimate hugs as they can't identify predators. I get so much hugs from both male and female students and sometimes the males hug me inappropriately and I would have to teach them how to give light hugs. Parents really have to give sex education early to protect their children who are too trusting, innocent and vulnerable.

We've had wives who dropped their complaint for domestic violence, and the court will continue to pursue the case against the husband. I have a patient whose husband has been ordered not to go near the wife and children due to domestic violence, and the wife is telling them she needs her husband home to help her with their disabled son, and the court said absolutely not. The government should still pursue this because animals like Prince will not stop. Neze, I am not Nigerian, but I really appreciate you discussing such a sensitive topic. Girls are mistreated and abused like this in Haiti, and they rarely get justice.
Barrister why do l feel that the family of the girl was paid, because honestly speaking l don't see why someone can withdraw such a case. But what they don't know is that they are perpetuating criminality n the life of the girl is ruined she will live with that scar for her life. Psychological help is needed for the girl.

This story reminds me of my childhood when two of my classmates quarrelled and one of them exposed the other that she had gone to do an abortion, then I was in Jss 1 and that happened to be my first time of hearing the word abortion without knowing its meaning. I got home and tried to detail all that happened in school to my parent, especially my mum, she shunned me immediately never to mention that word, and asked if that was what i went to school to learn. I felt so bad and ashamed of myself because she didn't even allow me tell the story. After that episode with my mum, I never discussed any issue that happened to me or around me with her, rather I discuss with my peers or friend, even to the point when I started my monthly flow, she wasn't aware. She only found out some months after when I carelessly forgot my used pad. Now I'm a mother, I know how I felt with my mum then, I allow my children ask me anything no matter how stupid the question may seem. I love it when they say to me 'mummy I want to tell you something', my attention will be so rapt to know what it is. So I state this because I know what a child feels if not given that attention to their personal needs.

He immediately yelled at me and asked me to go and play. Go and play like other kids but my mum knew something was off and I started to cry. I remember my dad suddenly being around and my older brother who was like 8 to all yelling at the guy and he begging. That's where my memory ends. But he never came back.
This really really really affects victims. I'm currently pregnant and have anxiety on how I can ensure my baby is protected. Lots and lots of my friends also have their own stories. It's insane

Why would the mother hand over her little daughter and take her eyes off her. I’m sad for the child and pray for her healing but feel I’m soo annoyed with the mother… yes, I said it!
I was touched inappropriately when I was 8 and 10 and it was done by my Bible club teacher at 8 and an older female cousin at 10 and I couldn't tell my parents tough i spoke to my older sister who had also touched by same Bible club teacher, together we were able to protect our little sister from him but our parents would have done more if we had confided in them.
Now as an adult, I am a teacher and I have encountered several parents who still do not give their children sex education early, we teach it at school and try to guide pupils and students but we cant do too much. Children these days are so innocent and reach out to older people easily (hugs and embraces are so normal) they should be taught by parents to limit intimate hugs as they can't identify predators. I get so much hugs from both male and female students and sometimes the males hug me inappropriately and I would have to teach them how to give light hugs. Parents really have to give sex education early to protect their children who are too trusting, innocent and vulnerable.

In the U.S. a person can drop their complaint, and the government will tell you it doesn't matter, and they will continue to pursue the case. We've had wives who dropped their complaint for domestic violence, and the court will continue to pursue the case against the husband. I have a patient whose husband has been ordered not to go near the wife and children due to domestic violence, and the wife is telling them she needs her husband home to help her with their disabled son, and the court said absolutely not. The government should still pursue this because animals like Prince will not stop. Neze, I am not Nigerian, but I really appreciate you discussing such a sensitive topic. Girls are mistreated and abused like this in Haiti, and they rarely get justice.

Neze you're a good storyteller. This story reminds me of my childhood when two of my classmates quarrelled and one of them exposed the other that she had gone to do an abortion, then I was in Jss 1 and that happened to be my first time of hearing the word abortion without knowing its meaning. I got home and tried to detail all that happened in school to my parent, especially my mum, she shunned me immediately never to mention that word, and asked if that was what i went to school to learn. I felt so bad and ashamed of myself because she didn't even allow me tell the story. After that episode with my mum, I never discussed any issue that happened to me or around me with her, rather I discuss with my peers or friend, even to the point when I started my monthly flow, she wasn't aware. She only found out some months after when I carelessly forgot my used pad.
Now I'm a mother, I know how I felt with my mum then, I allow my children ask me anything no matter how stupid the question may seem. I love it when they say to me 'mummy I want to tell you something', my attention will be so rapt to know what it is. So I state this because I know what a child feels if not given that attention to their personal needs.
