Sorry for the background bugles....Born & Raised Outdoors - Land of The Free Project was blaring in the background. Those Elk101 guys like to bugle : ) Go watch their Wyoming series if you haven't already!
Lots of options when selecting your release...we are going to keep playing around with a variety of styles and brands until we find something that works well for each us.
Hushin they're just sticking to the gameplan! Bugle, bugle, stalk. Rinse and repeat. :)
😂 worst background sound ever.
I’m new to the archery hunting game but falling in love quickly. I appreciate this channel. I honestly do not know why you guys don’t have your own show in the outdoor, sportsman’s or pursuit channels. You guys are way entertaining and have better content then some shows on them channels.
A video about arrow building would be great. Specifically, whether it’s better to start with a lighter platform arrow and add weight with an insert or, just have a heavier overall shaft? Love the content you guys put out!
Hinge saves my hunting career. Target panic was so over the top I was quit after 40 years of shooting a bow. I now can shoot any release aid with back tension. And it will change for the good on how you shoot your bow. I've never been so deadly accurate. I hunt with my hinge and every deer I've shot with it has been lights out nobody's home kill shots !! Never ever been so confident I'll shoot in front of anyone. In the past didn't like a crowd , now I hope for one just so I can show my skills !!
I'm a beginner fursure and the information in this video was great, thank y'all for your time and content it's much appreciated. Be safe, stay healthy and GOD bless y'all

Excellent video , one other exercise , I learned from Dee , was to draw anchor aim hold on the bullseye , and let down without releasing , really helps with target panic
This is a great video about how to properly shoot an index release. This bow tech is super knowledgeable
Every shooter is different. I made the switch to a thumb release from a index wrist strap release. It made me a more accurate archer. I dont really like a stiff tension so mine is set right in the middle. Gonna get most the people in my hunt group to try the thumb release but it is all personal preferences. Good info guys. love the videos.
Lol , my wife and I had a discussion kinda about that today,
I went and bought another release a week ago , and then today I went and bought a bunch of batterys at Costco, well she bought batterys about 2 weeks ago barely opened them . For some push button style lights I keep in our sheds.
Anyways she starts giving me crap and brings up that release !,I'm like hay if it breaks or I forget to grab it or something it's like a gun . Better to have it and not need it . Then to not have it and need it. Or like the batterys , better to buy them before you run out. So when you need more you already have them,
Rather then run out and need them! Now, I drive a manual transmission truck , my second release is around my gear shifter. So it's always in my truck .
Glad I stumbled onto this channel . I use a wrist release but been wanting to go with a thumb release.
I'm new to archery, so this is exactly the sort of video I need. Thanks!
Found an old browning at a thrift store. It was bare bones. It's my first bow ever. I'm slowly getting it set up. I'm sold on the Beast.
Perfect information! Couldn’t agree more with everything said in this video!! Nice work fellas!
I have the tru all beast. Have had it for 3 years. Amazing release.
I've kept my finger behind the trigger since I almost knocked out my teeth.

Nice job B-Mac.....for that being a different style than you're accustomed to shooting, it seems like you guys picked it up pretty quickly. Good stuff guys thanks for sharing, definitely will help when I get back into bow hunting after a 15+ year hiatus
Great video. I’m getting back in after 10 years. This is awesome
Thank you so much for this video. I'm a beginner at Archery Hunting and wanted to try bow this year for deer and turkey but I feel like im just not ready yet. One of the reasons is my release set up. This will help me out for sure.
Just came across your channel and this video has alot of great info. Found out your in Centerville UT amd I'm in SLC so I'm gonna have to stop in one of these days and check out your shop.

Finally someone who can explain a release to someone who shot 3 fingers their whole life.
Great info. Thanks for sharing. Not many ppl share this kind of info. God bless.
Need more! I’d enjoy a video about the front hands role in the shot process? BTW Jeremiah is awesome you should bring him on a hunt.
Another awesome video guys! Keep at it!
I have the the tru glow detonator hook release as a backup very comfy and adjustability in length is easy, trigger pull is light enough out of package.
Yup I love my detonator just don't like it uses rubber oring. I luv the boa I'm gonna get a spot hogg wiseguy next.
Used to use a wrist strap trigger release, Went to a hand held thumb release Carter wise choice and will never go back.
Thank you! This was exactly what I needed! A plethora of information! from well educated and well spoken individuals! I had to borrow a couple of dollars for that word! lol! I wish you guys were in my neck of the woods...I guess in a way through RUclips you kinda' are! lol! To me you ARE the Professionals. And lastly I'd like to say what a Awesome shop! Wilde Arrow Archery you have my VOTE! I'll need to come out there and visit. Thanks again!
Thanks for the great videos. Proper set up/sighting in the black gold- assent verdict or any movable sight
Love the tip to work on shot mechanics at short range. I will be able to use that at home!
I am currently using a TRU Ball Beast release on my right hand but because of the strap configuration, it is ok but not as comfortable when I use it on my left hand. i am currently switching to lefty because my left eye is better even though it is not my dominant eye. Can you talk about releases for lefty's or are all the releases all supposed to be ok for both left and right.
very interesting video and good information. ty

Hey i just seen this and this is a good eye opener,
Not sure if you did a vid on this but whats a good bow for a beginner thats in a wheelchair thats light and easy to pull back?
Im interested in starting but i have no idea where to start
love my Tru Fire Hardcore release!
Hushin+nockon would be amazing content looking forward to it!!!
You guys should pick up some turkey tags for your visit to Iowa. Opening season is in a couple weeks!
I think an arrow rest tuning video would help a lot
I use a carter chocolate lite. I shoot target so it’s great for that. It’s a handheld as well so even beter
very infomative . Thanks
6:40 !!!! exactly what i came to this video for. Great info. Thanks,
hook pull method
I’d love information for new adult archers buying their first compound bow. Also, hip quiver for hunting with a compound bow vs bow mounted quiver.
From my first year walking thru brush and thorns and all types of wicked I'd recommend bow mounted that way if you do trip you won't break your arrows
#hushlife !!!! Great videos boys
Hey you guys! Great video! I'm new to archery and was wondering if you could a video on what style of broadheads to use for different types of hunting! And if you all have a general preference to fixed blade or mechanical styles? Any pointers and recommendations would be awesome. Keep at it!
foxmichael26 , the biggest thing is finding out what the laws are on what you can and can't use in the state you plan on hunting!
Another big thing is broad head makers don't sale sample packs. Meaning you have to buy them shoot them and see if you can get them to group well.
I find this to be where I spend a ton of money. Because not all broad heads fly the same . And at $40 just to try them it's crazy . So find what ever flys the most accurate for you, and stay with in the state laws! Good luck this year happy hunting!
Slick Trick, wasp and magnus all make tough fixed blade heads along with many others. As far as mechanicals go I have had success with rage hypodermic +p’s
You guys should invite Matt Carriker of Demolition Ranch on a hunt. He is such a good dude. I would love to see this collab!
Does changing from a wrist trigger to a thumb trigger change your peep hole sights and aim?
Could we get a video on FOC percentages as well as broad head selection
Zac Hickman while I am always up for some tech talk there is an abundance of existing material on the subject out there already.
The main thing I require from a release is the ability to transition to a handgun. Hunting on the Mexico border in Arizona we have the smugglers/ cartels & mean dogs to deal with. Most of the time they only want water etc.... But it does make you think. I like the flexible nylon wrist strap like you used is real good. Good video, more to consider. Well done.
I watched, I learned, I implemented. Thank you.
Wild arrow was my favorite now shop to go to until I moved to minnesota
Sights...types, set ups, pros n cons, things to look for
Thank you This is very helpful information. Much appreciated!
Awesome video!
The biggest thing I learned so far is to take my boots off...fucking brilliant.
I will never go on a hunt with only 1 release. Last year, the trigger actually snapped off my scott and I didn’t have a good backup... alwaysss buy 2!
I couldn't get used to a metal sear release like the Scott Rhino xt even with the extra swept back trigger in the package and bought another the Silver Horn been bowhunting 40yrs with a roller sear with no issues
I use the fang 2. The only issue I have is the wrist strap is extremely tight on my wrist almost restricting blood flow and I have it let out all the way and I cannot wear gloves with it can I change just the strap?
I've owned so many releases. The only way to go for a hook style wrist strap is spott Hogg wise guy
With it being called Archery 101, I thought the video would be for beginners. This seems like something aimed at archery hunters with quite a bit of experience. For example, I'm just starting out, and I can only guess by context what jargon like "anchor point", "sear system" (spelling?), "target panic", etc.
Can you recommend any video series for someone who is just starting out with compound bows? Like to have the terms explained and maybe how to adjust draw length on a beginner bow, etc.
Such a GREAT demonstration. I learned so much! As a returning (beginner) I will focus on mechanics first! There are so many factors that affect your shot, limiting (sighting) them is a smart
Sadly, the background chatter is VERY distracting!!!
I will be practicing like this
Great video
What releases did you guys end up with? awesome video just getting started into Archery and there was a load of great tips in this one.
I know this vid is kind of old but I'm a newer Archer and am curious as to the relation of pull weight to speed
I'd love to hear about arrow components; nock collars, inserts, fletching ext.
what are thoughts and opinions (forgiving the price) of the nockonarchery.com Nock 2 It -custom-release ?
I love my Tru Fire Hardcore Buckle release..
Is it better to paper tune or broad head tune your bow if you plan on hunting with the bow?
Great video thanks
thanks for the video, after watching this, I now know my release is too long. I would love to see different arrow builds for different game. I live in Pa and hunt whitetail. I'm so confused on how heavy of an arrow I should be shooting.
When using a release, don't you need a D loop to attach to the release? If so, where can I find a D loop?
I bought a Southwest archery recurve bow it's a left hand draw and I'm right-handed so when I draw from my left hand even when I have finger tabs wrist shakes so I bought a true fit Patriot releaseand it works great but it's too cheap and dinky and triggers really Harris line sensitive would you have any recommendation for a good release for a recurve bow I appreciate it mahalo from Hilo Hawaii mahalo means thanks in Hawaiian
what target do you recommend for shooting in your basement? I am shooting a 70lbs draw and dont want a target that an arrow can blow through into my drywall.
stuff a cardboard box with plastic, such as visqueen. Not for broadheads.
Try the short n sweet by truball. But I really want a spotthogg wise guy boa. Same hook style release will never go back to clamp style
Can u do a video on like bow accessories
Owned and hunted with many releases.
Nothing beasts my Carter RX1.
My back up release in my pack is the Carter Like Mike.
I shoot them both the same.
I use them both all the time.
Do a my first bow buy ..... please
I'v been using the Scott silverhorn for the past couple of years.Highly adjustable and relatively cheap at about $70.00 depending on where you shop.Been pondering on trying a back tension style release, what are the pro's and cons of back tension and are they better for hunting or are they more of a target release?Love you're video's guys, cheers
We haven't used a back tension yet. Jeremiah has and we'll try and cover that in another video. Again, it really comes down to personal preference like many things. He likes to practice a lot with the back tension and then hunt with an index release. Other guys use the back tension exclusively or the index exclusively.
I'll get a back tension just to practice with during the summer months.I'm really liking the true ball sweet spot.A lot of guys i shoot with use them and they seem to get some good scores. Thanks for the reply guys, you're awesome.
Love your vids
Hey how you doing buddy I just described to your Channel and I came across your video and I'm trying to update my release I've been shooting with the same release for the past 20 years and I was wondering what was the name of that type of release I notice he said Beast but what brand a model?
Arrow selection and set up
I just put my first bow on lawawy it's a fred bear species rth how Many times do you recommend a person train thru the week and which bag target whuld you recommend for shooting inside an apartment
Backtension vid, or release testing?

Have they deleted that stiffer spring i todays beast xt? I ordered the beast xt and did not get an extra spring or any tool to adjust the trigger travel/trigger stiffnes.
Is a drop away arrow rear better than whisker bisket
Great videos
Single pin with dial sight or multi pin sight, what do you guys prefer.
This is like picking boots....everyone has a different opinion. Casey played around with both last year and when it was all said and done he opted to have a multi-pin set up vs. the single. 3-4 pin with slider has been what we've used. Sighting the pins in at 30, 40, 50, 60 and then sliding. These have been good especially as we shoot 3D courses and practice out to yardages that exceed your last pin.
Again, everyone will have a different opinion. If possible you should try both to see what works best for you.
Hushin
Could you show that sight you are talking about sounds interesting
What draw weight do you recommend for elk. At least 50 lb obviously but is 55 lb or 60 lb plenty with a good broadhead and a good shot? Thanks
I had a release without a spring return, accidentaly released my string and broke my string, i o ly trust releases with spring return. I'm a noob, but I love my bow. Blackout SS got it for $150
Where should the end of the release come on your palm?
do any of you close an eye when you shoot or are both eyes open?
Good video
Could I order a setup and get it shipped to my door from this shop

Nock on podcast you'll learn everything you need to know
John is a wealth of archery knowledge!
If you can stay awake
@DirkDiggler i just spat my coffee out 😂😂😂
I would love to buy a 2019 hoyt prevail and all that ***** but it's way to complicated for me drawlenght spine shaft length adjusting....
How to choose the right spine
Nice
My cams keep coming out of sink and I don't understand why bit had my cams resinked about 4 times last year
Joshua Rose , what bow are you shooting , could be a string and cable issue, like they where not prestreached !
Bear treat I even bought new strings and cables problem is still continuing
Threat
Low quality string and cables., stretching and putting bow out of tune
Yeah but there not low quality I was told by the others bow shops near me there the best in the area
I use a Hotshot Nano and it's freaking awesome!! I hope to try a Wiseguy for my next release but I don't see the Hotshot failing me anytime soon.
Create a compound bow which can be used by fingers.
Find a long ATA compound. Anything 38 and above can be done without that horrible short ATA pinch.
I train with my PSE Beast EXT with both a release and with fingers.
I have two cars, one for back up in case the main one didn't want to start! man that is typical sales management, if I break my release in the wild that's a sign for me to pack up and go home!
