Fix for the dredded 'SE' error: This is a failure of the membrane keypad connected to the circuit control board. Had a Samsung technician replace it years ago (it was a known issue, and under warranty), but now these parts run $110+!!! Instead of replacing, you can attempt to fix it FOR FREE: remove the control panel (for mine, this involved 2 tiny screws on top to remove the top front vent frame, then 1 screw to remove the panel, then disconnect the flex-ribbon to the keypad, then 4 screws to remove the circuit board). Once you have the touch pad, you need to dehumidify it -- no joke, put it in your refrigerator for a few hours. Or put it in a big container filled with rice. Whatever method you have. If you refrigerate, ensure no condensation develops as it warms up (I put mine in my oven preheated to 100F). Or you could seal it in a plastic bag for a couple hours with all the air out until it's warm again. Now reassemble, and see if it works again. Just did it myself and it worked!
Hi. Thanks for this video. My microwave is giving that error. If i don't have CRC electronic cleaner, is there anything else i can use from around the house to clean the ribbon? For example would an alcohol wipe work? Thanks!
Yes a alcohol wipe can do the job to. you can wipe the ribbon only. but the better thing is the CRC spray you can spray the ribbon socket with the spray to get out the dust and stuff.
I had removed the Cable and cleaned with spirit, didn't worked for me. Later i have cleaned all the cable socket, keypad buttons, exhaust fan unit and reassembled it. Microwave worked for 3-4 mins and then again start giving me -SE- error. It generally work for few minutes and then the error come back.....any other solution?
Hi. when it work for a while and giving the problem over and over again in this case you need a keypad replacement, there is nothing to do then to replace the keypad for it to work properly.
@@abhishek007alal I mean both keypad and circuit board, in this case you does have to change both parts to make sure it will work again, but if you can't afford both keypad and circuit board then buy the keypad first and see if it work, if the microwave still giving trouble then you have to buy the circuit board to.
Hi Mr Fixit, I'm located in Maraval and need the control panel/Keypad for that same unit, can you tell me where I can find a replacement part as I'm having no luck on the internet
No i don't have any link and supplier, normally I would look for the model number and go online and look for the item, it takes a while to get through and sometimes I don't get through with the item. that's life.
@@mickeypm100Did you ever find parts for it locally ? No where on the internet I found the key pad membrane I was looking for. Bought my microwave at PS.

Use a pencil ✏ eraser creed ribbon

Only one place you will get it, go online and type in the model number of the microwave.
