- Hampden Park is considered to be the ‘Wembley of the North’. Located in Glasgow, also home to Celtic & Rangers, the stadium itself is home to Queens Park FC and the Scottish National Football teams. It's also home to the Scottish Football Museum. But what’s the stadium actually like to go around? Is it worth doing the tour and museum here?

FOOTNOTES -
- If you havent’ already guessed, this was shot back in November at the same time as the Celtic/Rangers video. I had planned to do a comparison with Wembley, but obviously with this whole virus thing going on - it’s not likely I’ll visit that place anytime soon. So to keep making content, I've decided to make it as a standalone video.
- Yes, I did say that I preferred the Hampden Park tour to the Wembley Tour. The main reason because you actually get to learn stuff as opposed to walking around a £1 billion soulless (albeit very nice) American-style bowl stadium. You’re entitled to your opinion of course, but I’m entitled to mine.
- A couple of whiny bitches have appeared to try and 'correct me' by stating that Clyde FC is the 5th Glasgow team. They play in Cumbernauld, far out of the jurisdiction of Glasgow City Centre. Technically Hamilton Academical plays closer to Glasgow than Clyde FC. That'd be like saying Bolton Wanderers is a 'Manchester team' because they're in Greater Manchester. They're not - and nobody else thinks so either.
I've actually been! It was closed when I got there.
Ultimate Bucket List - if you’re ever in Dunfermline will you do the home of Dunfermline Athletic
It would be cool if you did an Edinburgh Tour. After all this virus stuff obviously. And there is both the hibernian and hearts stadiums. There is also Murrayfield the home of scotlands rugby team.
Ultimate Bucket List - who is your favourite Man Utd player
Lorimer Gardens were greenoock morton we’re better than u
Honestly mate your the funniest and best tour reviewer I've ever seen and you always put a smile on my face
Thanks, much appreciated!
Fun Fact: The Scottish Cup seen in the museum is the same trophy that was first awarded in 1873, making it officially the oldest national trophy still being awarded.
Yes, that's correct!
yes it is
Well done ur a true Scottish football nerd wtw that's cool
Kilmarnock fc have a section due its 150 year anniversary, also its the oldest professional club in Scotland
Yes, someone else pointed that out.
It was also the stadium that hosted the champions league final between real and bayer leverkusen, most famously remembered by the zidane volley
Yes, I believe so.
Great video 🏴
Thanks bro. Although I doubt you've watched the entire video yet?
Ultimate Bucket List watched most of it already great review 👍🏴
@@Comefourthjoe7 Cool man, thanks!
Ultimate Bucket List np after corona go to Easter road (Hibernian fc ) or tynecastle
Yeah, I'll consider it.
I've been waiting for this one, it's my favourite stadium, thank you

Nice video mate 😀😀 keep them coming, such a good watch
Thanks bro, glad you like my stuff!
As a Scottish person and me loving your vids I love this vid
Thanks bro - I appreciate that.
I love these vidssss!!!!
Thanks bro, much appreciated!
Absolutely love these videos hope fully you keep on going after this virus has gone thank you
Yes I will. Thank you very much!
Ultimate Bucket List thank you so much for commenting it really means a lot these are probably the best stadium tour videos that I have watched cheers.
Good video yet again highly underrated channel. I love Scotland since my Local football club has a lot of Scottish fans
Ah that's cool!
And thanks!
@@UltimateBucketList btw great crossbar hit much harder then scoring
The Kilmarnock exhibition is there as last year (2019) was the club's 150th aniversary (founded 1869). Making them the oldest fully proffesional club in Scotland, and I believe one of the top 20 or so oldest clubs in the world (even higher if you consider consistently proffesional teams that didn't go bust for a bit.
Yes, someone else pointed that out.
Great video love the stadium toor vids
Thanks bro, I appreciate your support as always.

Thanks dude.

Yes indeed.
Been outside of hampden it's great well Done Ninh
Thanks. It's worth going inside, it's an interesting place.
Yea
Amazing! That was the biggest one in the world, before Macanã was built.
I believe you are correct, yes! 😀
I went last year was a pretty good day out
Yeah it's not bad!
Nice vlog Mate 💪
Thanks bro, much appreciated.
Great video, I would recommend a tour of tynecastle in Edinburgh 🇱🇻
Sure, when the virus is over and done with, yes.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Brilliant video I was there before hope you enjoyed it! You should do a travel guide of Ireland. If your ever in Ireland you should go to Croke Park it’s a GAA ground that holds around 82 thousand people it’s one of the very few stadiums that still has a terrace!
Yes, I've been planning on Ireland for a while!
Once this virus is over, I'll be out there for sure.
Great to see the women’s roll of honour! Not seen that at any of your other stadiums which says a lot. Wonder if they have it at Wembley? Looking forward to your video on that if you get round to it! Hampden is a great stadium, would love to go someday
Yes you don't see that enough. Definitely not at England.
It's worth going around, for sure.
You should come to Dublin and get a stadium tour of both Croke Park and the Aviva Stadium when this pandemic is over.
Yep, will do.
Good vid Man maybe should do a tour of my club (Middlesbrough) also maybe a few of the London team ground like (West Ham’ Arsenal’ Chelsea & etc) 👍
Yup - just get rid of this virus for me and I'll do it! :)
ipswich would be good
I actually had my high school prom at Hampden and a lot of us thought it was a weird place to have it at first but it was actually very good!
Cool place to have a prom!
Nice vid mate. Would love to see you visit Windsor Park in Belfast where Northern Ireland play. The stadium was redeveloped over the last few years and it’s brilliant. The tours are also fantastic.
I was planning on doing so ... then the virus hit.
Ultimate Bucket List ah that sucks. Hopefully we’ll see the back of it soon enough and you get the chance to go. Stay safe mate
You too bro, thanks!
i love to see scottish videos 🥳
Okay cool!
Wow so.nice place imazing
It's alright, yeah.
The reason Queens Park have the biggest stadium is because they were absolutely brilliant back in the 1800’s and won the first ever Scottish cup and used to get almost EVERYONE in Scotland coming to their games. So anyone confused about it this is the reason Hampden Park is owned by Queens Park.
I believe you're correct, yes.
Ultimate Bucket List I’ve been before so I asked the tour guide about it that’s how I found out. Good that you enjoyed it
Great video, very informative and thorough, though I'd like to know what you wound up missing. Interestingly, I got to see a Dryborough Cup final way back when before the renovations to the stadium when it wasn't an all seater. I had a relative who played for Queens Park and I managed to get a walk around the stadium and a chance to go on the grass...very intimidating looking place when it's empty; I could only imagine what it would have been like full.
Ah cool - that would have been fun. Never got to do that as part of the tour.
Thanks for the info.
Nice Vid
Thanks fella!
I had artwork in the hall of fame about a week later with my school and I got a stadium tour with it
That's cool.
Great vid man 💪, do you have any plans to travel to italy or italian football stadiums?
Thanks bro. Yes, I do once the virus situation is over!
Ultimate Bucket List cool bro, best of luck and blessings during these hard times 👍🙏
I didnt realise until this video queens park and partick thistle were also based in Glasgow
Love the videos btw
Thanks bro.
Yes, QP and Partick Thistle are also Glasgow clubs.
A lot of people consider Clyde FC to also be from Glasgow, but they technically play in Cumbernauld.
Appreciate your comments!
If you get the chance, please come to Melbourne Australia and come see the MCG. It Holds 100,000 people and has so much History.
Yes, just have to get there first.
Go Bombers.
Finally you have done a stadiam tour
A suggestion is selherst park stadiam tour.
I actually did this back in November, but am running out of content to put out.
Can't do anymore tours until this virus is over.
@@UltimateBucketList can you do selherst park after the virus stops
I'll consider it.
Great video. You should check out the 2 north London stadiums
Yes, the virus might have something to do with that though.
Ultimate Bucket List ah yes. Maybe after all of this is over
Been here a few times, for a concert back in 2004 it was pretty nice. and the best one was a competition won to go on the field at half time during a semi final match. When it is empty is still ok, But when your on your Countries National Field, in front of your own team fans cheering YOU on to shoot into the Real Nets. Its another feeling entirely. The backroom staff and all are usually always nice and friendly and up for a laugh most of the time
Ah cool - that would have been fun. Never got to do that as part of the tour.
Thanks for the info.
@@UltimateBucketList Sorry it wasnt part of the tour, that was just my experience at Hampden, its a ok stadium but for football the stands are way too far back
That's what you get when your stadium is also an Athletics track. Just ask West Ham.
@@UltimateBucketList I know its an athletics track. im speaking for football terms it kills some atmosphere in my opinion
I feel ye mate, I can't score from an open goal either ...
Oh boy, that was embarrassing!
At least it aint as bad as that crewe player who missed a 9 yard certain goal against the beautiful argyle it was open goal as well and he put it wide lol #weareargyle
Oh yeah, it could have been worse. Could have been that guy!
Looks a lot better than some of the football national stadiums I've been to. I will have to check it out next time I hit Glasgow. Have you done the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff at all?
I've been to the Millennium / Principality stadium, but never did the tour there. Will have to do that one of these days.
Kinda odd stadium since its the oval shape but still has a decent view from the seats.
It's alright. It's not the best view and it's certainly not the worst.
The oval shape - it's also an athletics track.
Do West Brom do a stadium tour
I've already been to West Brom - not much to shout home about I'm afraid.
in case you were wondering, the Kilmarnock section is there because Kilmarnock is Scotland's oldest professional club, with it being the 150th anniversary last year
Yeah somebody else mentioned that. I had no idea.
Thanks.
I was initially planning on flying over there to take this tour, but then the US national team said they were playing in the Netherlands so I booked flights there.
Didn't matter anyway thanks to the Coronapocalypse, but maybe in the future I'll be able to make it over to Scotland.
Ah that's cool!
Without sounding too pessimistic, the tours at Rangers and Celtic were far better and if you're going to the Netherlands, the Johan Cruyff Stadium is immense.
See Hampden if you've got some spare time and you're not doing anything else. Otherwise, Celtic Park or Ibrox it is.
@@UltimateBucketList A Cruyff Stadium tour was planned when I initially diverted plans from England/Scotland to the Netherlands, but then COVID-19 hit. A Phillips Stadion tour was also in the works. Thankfully Delta says I can use the money I spent on the initial flight for a future flight!
As for my Scotland plans in the future, Celtic Park and Ibrox would also be in the works, though the Scottish Football Museum looks absolutely amazing, as well as going to Edinburgh for a Murrayfield tour, perhaps even Easter Road or Tynecastle
Oh yeah, I think you would have had an amazing time for sure.
I definitely recommend Celtic Park - that's probably the best one you'll do all trip. Not sure about Murrayfield, Easter Road and Tynecastle ... I've not done them yet. But as soon as I do, I'll post it so that you can make a more informed decision as to what to do when you finally re-book!
The Johan Cruyff stadium is nice, but the 1937 built “the tub” or Feyenoord stadium is nice too! That’s where Dutch cup finals are held every year and the final of Euro 2000 was played there along the Final of Europa League 2002.
Scotland Scotland my favourite football stadium
I must admit, I've been to better stadiums. But it's still cool nevertheless.
true mate true
The thing about Clyde FC being a Glasgow team: when they were formed, the played in / near Bridgeton, in the East End, and they played there for about 20-odd years, but they then moved to Shawfield Park, which was in-between an area of Glasgow called Oatlands, and a Lanarkshire town just outside the city, called Rutherglen.
At some point Rutherglen became incorporated into the Glasgow Council area, so a lot of people thought of Rutherglen as being in Glasgow, but Rutherglen has since reverted back to being seperate from Glasgow (I dunno which council boundary it's in now), but alongside that, Clyde didn't move to Cumbernauld until about 1994, so even though they play there now, they kinda are and aren't the local team, and they kind of are and aren't a Glasgow team :-)
A side note, too:
Rangers aren't a team from the West. Anything on the southside of the Clyde is in "the Southside", so Rangers are a Southside team. I suppose South West, to be precise.
Also, Partick are more the West team, as they were founded in Partick, which is one of the areas in the West of Glasgow (but don't believe anyone that tells you Partick is in the West End. They're just trying to make themselves feel better 😂), even though they do play at Firhill Stadium in Maryhill, which is north of Partick.
And then there's Queen's Park, who a lot of people would are "the real Southside team" ’cause they have more of local feel than Rangers do.
And don't forget the amateur and junior teams dotted around. For example, BSC Glasgow (Broomhill Soccer Club Glasgow) play in bloody Stirlingshire, about an hour's drive north of Glasgow.
Glasgow's a bit confused about its boundaries. 😂
Aw! And the 'p' in Hampden is silent 😂
Also also: The "East End" is the East side of Glasgow.
Boy, I bet you're fun at parties, eh?
I'm fully aware that Clyde FC used to play in Rutherglen, but they don't anymore.
And as for the locations of the clubs, I used it's geographical location, not necessarily the district information. Otherwise you'd be correct.
I love this guys stadium tours, well done, great video 😊🏟️
Thanks Dane. I'll record a few more once the virus stuff is over with!
Cheers for this. I've been a spectator many times, I've never done the tour. I'll pop that on my bucket list. :D ***Did you know Queens park have played in 2 English FA cup finals? 1884 and 1885***
Yes, I actually knew that about Queens Park - but didn't know they owned Hampden (of all things?!)
The tour is okay, I wouldn't rush out to do it, but if you're passing by it's worth a look.
Yasss I'm a spiders fan
My Granda was a Third Lanark fan. I've always wanted to visit Cathkin Park. The 2nd Hampden :D
After the virus is gone maybe you should do a Murrayfield and Twickenham comparison. Only ever been to Murrayfield once for a football game against hearts but it was a very nice stadium to visit.
Yeah sure, why not?
FYI the Kilmarnock section was a special section put together to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the team as it’s the oldest professional team in the country. Also visit Rugby park the home of Kilmarnock F.C (best team in Scotland)
Ah, that makes sense! I've never been to Kilmarnock, will stop by if I ever drive by that way. Thanks.
Please do the aviva stadium tour, its one of only a few stadium tours available in Ireland and its the biggest football stadium here home to our national football and rugby team, it was also redeveloped in 2010 and it looks great now
I've been to the old Lansdowne Road, but never to the Aviva. Will do it when I'm in Dublin.
@@UltimateBucketList class stuff bro, while ur here try head to a bohemian fc match in dalymount Park, used to be the home of the Irish football team, fallen into near disrepair but is set to be completely redeveloped in a few years time
I visited Hampden park a couple months back for the Rangers vs Celtic cup final, we were in the Celtic end, boss little trip.
Cool, I watched that one on TV. Must have been a good game!
@@UltimateBucketList It was you know the fans are unreal, every single fan on the bottom tier stood up

You should visit Aviva Stadium and Croke Park in Dublin 👍🏼
The Aviva isn't open and there's no timetable for it to re-open.
Will u go to the Aviva stadium in Dublin , Ireland after covid 19 !? Ur vids are really good 👌😊 !!!!
At some point, yeah! And thanks!
Thanks lad !! Great video 👍👍👌 !!
Anytime!
Best youtuber in soccer I've seen !!
mcgrath tablets Croke park aswell. The Croke park tour is more interesting than the aviva, because of the history and because of its unique attributes of being the home to irelands national sports. The AVIVA doesn't have much history despite its predecessor being the oldest rugby stadium in the world landsdowne road. Its basically only 10 years old.
Do cardiff vs swansea. You have done scotland, england but need to do wales!! Or you could do a stadium tour of the principality stadium which has hosted many fa cup finals. The principality stadium is a big underrated stadium!!
Swansea don't do tours.
Ultimate Bucket List Might aswell do the principality stadium tour.
@@akajshhshbob4005 Probably
Can you do Cardiff City/Wales stadium when it's safe
Sure, when the virus is gone.
After this virus is gone, I recommend the Arsenal tour! Went to it back when I was at the Carabao Cup Final. Although it is a self-guided tour, I don’t know if you’re a fan of them or not 😬
Yep, absolutely.
I actually prefer the self-guided tours!
Ultimate Bucket List that’s perfect then! 😁
MON THE SCOTLAND 🏴
Indeed.
You should come to northern Ireland some time and do a tour
Sure, why not?
On your next trip to Glasgow, walk a few hundred yards up the road from Hampden to what's left of Cathkin Park. Maybe you can get someone from the Third Lanark Supporters Club to tell you the strange sad tale of what happened to their club (see Wikipedia). Also, you can pop in to see Queen's Park's new home at Lesser Hampden (right next door to the Natipnal Stadium).
I did see Lesser Hampden whilst driving around. I think I read about Third Lanark and the fact that Cathkin Park is largely in disrepair?
@@UltimateBucketList largely is putting it mildly. The stand was set alight by vandals and demolished about 40 years ago (I used to go past Cathkin as a teenager on my way to Hampden in the 70s). What's left are some banks of terracing, part of the boundary wall and some crush barriers. As you'll see on RUclips, there are trees growing out of much of the remaining terracing. I believe there are still some amateur sides which play the odd game at Cathkin although Third Lanark Amateurs play elsewhere.
Do you have any other pre-recorded stadium videos that you will upload, or is this the only one?
I think that's the lot so far. I'm hoping this virus crap will end soon so that I can start doing more of these.
Can you do AIK (Friends Arena) vs Djurgården & Hammarby (Tele2 Arena) in Stockholm, Sweden after this bloody virus is over? /New sub

Those tickets are like gold-dust!
Please do Sheffield United (Bramall Lane) and Sheffield Wednesday (Hillsborough) in Sheffield, where the football actually start.
Both aren't anything to write home about.
Queens Park will have a nice few quid in their coffers after selling Hampden Park. Could be a climb to the premiership for them?
Yes, they will.
Will that fuel a rise to the Premiership, given that they're now a professional team?
Who knows? But it'd be interesting to find out!
@@UltimateBucketList on your tour league table you have the Bernabeau on there but I can't find your video of the tour. Do you have the link to the tour please?

The reason there was a whole section for kilmarnock was because it was our 150th anniversary in 2019
Yes someone else pointed that out.
Can you do a tour of the allianz arena in Germany
Sure ... when the virus goes away and everything opens again.
Imagine if the World Cup happened in hampden, I would go to every game
Interesting proposition. I'm not sure Scotland has enough 5* FIFA stadiums, so the hosting would have to be shared with England. But yeah, would be interesting to see.
The Kilmarnock sections because they’re the oldest club In Scotland and they recently celebrated 150 years 🔵⚪️
Yes, someone else said that same.
Queens park are playing at lesser hampden which is literally a 10 second walk from one side of the stadium
Yes, I saw it.
Some may say that Queens Park FC are as central to Scottish Football as Hampden park. They are the oldest Scottish club and one of the oldest clubs on earth. They also essentially invented modern football as they introduced passing the ball as a central aspect of the game.
Yes, some might say that.
Do Allianz Arena, Munich.
