- Celtic Football Club supporters hold British and European records for the biggest-ever crowds. In 2017, they were awarded "best fans in the world" by FIFA. Many of the world’s greatest players are enthused by the atmosphere created by the Celtic "faithful".
Still, the team and their fans are about more than the sport.
Founded in 1887 to help poor Irish immigrants in Glasgow’s East End, the charitable side of Celtic continues to this day with fans funding schools and clinics for the poor across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
They have stood in the face of some of history’s greatest human rights issues; Nelson Mandela himself applauded Celtic fans for their campaign against apartheid in South Africa, and today, it is the Palestinian cause that grips club fans.

Been a fan since I was born .IAM 62 and remember the good old days in the 1960s .I was 8yrs old Football mad went down to Bobby Murdoch's house and he would show me his medals and play football with me FANTASTIC Memories of those days .When Celtic won that night in Lisbon I ran outside with my strip on and Ball reenacted the 2 goals with my friends and followed the TIC ever since . As a 10 Yr old I was invited to a party of mate who lived beside Billy McNeil, the celtic fans (not me) chapped his door and returned with loads of celtic memorabilia. The following week my pals and me saw Rangers captain John Greig in City centre. "Hello John" as they clammered for an autograph. "Mr Greig to you son" , he answered as he walked off. Different circumstances I know, but it set me against Rangers. And then there's the history..

They had a stadium built before they even had a team, which they then created by bribing the top players in Scotland to leave their clubs. It should also be remembered that football was an amateur sport and paying players was illegal. Celtc FC, cheats from their inception in 1888, as of the present.
