- You’ll Never Walk Alone is Liverpool Football Club’s war cry for the underprivileged - a cry of unity against adversity and authoritarian rule - and it rings loud and in unison at every Liverpool match. For Liverpool fans, it is about more than football. It is a fight for equality, social justice and a voice for the United Kingdom's working-class often ignored by a series of right-wing governments who neglected the country's north.
Being a hotbed of left-wing socialism, former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher set out to make an example of Liverpool city while it was enduring drastic economic decline after the UK joined the Common Market in 1973. Her crushing policies of "managed decline" left much of the population jobless. Thatcher expected the city’s people to buckle to her authority, but she did not realise she was also up against the power of the city’s football team, which brought strength and hope to its city. This film looks into how Liverpool FC became a symbol of defiance on top of its shining success.
Liverpool FC’s famous stadium sat within the working classes of the city and stood in the face of a government set on treating victims of poverty as collateral damage. And despite the money behind the multimillion-dollar game, Liverpool have remained a team that continues to put the people before profit.

The last statement;
The day when Liverpool was crowned champions, their points tally was 96...the same number as those who died in Hillsborough. Rest in Peace.
It was a nice touch ❤️ it was for them
the points were 99
You mean the 96 people who had their things robbed whilst they lay dead
🔥Justice for the 96!🔥 you’ll never walk alone!
@@magicsteve5523 Well considering they're dead I'd have thought it was obvious that they'd never walk again, never mind alone.

I ve been a Liverpool supporter for 50 years. I was a young boy from Thailand attending school in North Wales. My classmate’s parents took me to Anfield for the first time. I was mesmerized. The managers, the players, the passion, the fans and atmosphere were incredible. I never stopped supporting LFC through thick and thin.

All hail Liverpool. Fan from California
being a liverpool supporter is more than just football its a 'way of life' caring and supporting a community a big family
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am from Cyprus - all my family are REDS since the days of King Kenny - My dad made sure I became a Red when I was 6, the Owen and McManaman era. I visited Anfield in 2017 and 2018
The city , the stadium, the people are absolutely beautiful. I have been all around the UK and I have to say that Liverpool (and Newcastle) are the best cities in the UK.
There isnt a day going by that I will not think of this club - absolute love and passion, even during the Jay Spearing days :)
Always in my mind, Always Loyal
❤
A couple boarded the bus to Anfield and asked the driver to tell them where to alight. I chuckled when he assured them with “Oh, you’ll know for sure.” The city of Liverpool and Anfield were wonderful for any visiting LFC fan.

They haven't won the league for 30 years because of referee mistakes. Yet they managed to be in 6 European finals, wining 3 (2001, 2005, 2019) and loosing 3 (2007, 2016, 2018). No other English team managed to be on as many finals since 1990.
Manchester United made it 5 times (1999, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2017). Chelsea 4 times (2008, 2012, 2013, 2019). Arsenal 2 (2006, 2019). Manchester City ZERO times!
With 9 European trophies Liverpool is the pride of England 🏴.
Seems the refs mistake's are back , of course the rest of the season for those mistakes to be leveled
2016 it is a Europa League , not champions league do not mix em
Liverpool going through a hard time atm injuries ,new players settling in , no crowds but Liverpool will bounce back I’m sure off it

This is one of the best documentary that I watch on RUclips and I truly enjoyed it till the end!
Winning the league with 96 points was just so appropriate at the time. As I write this comment the news of the 97th victim passing away weighs heavy in my heart! As a survivor of pen 3 Leppings Lane I can assure you the real death toll resulting from that harrowing day is much higher when survivors who suffered in silence for decades found they could not carry on any longer and felt the only way to find respite was in taking their own lives ! I find it hard to understand how their journey has not been recognised, their passing has been as a direct result of injuries sustained on 15.04.1989 and in my opinion their names should be added to the list at the memorial!
Truth. YNWA

It looks like that, it feels like that and it is definitely that
Not English? What league are Liverpool playing in again? The ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE.
It’s cause Liverpool was invaded by the Irish and since then the accent has just gone so downhill. Wasn’t like that back in the 60s tho you could have an intelligent conversation with most scousers

Sorry, but it does.
For me, in the current Liverpool squad the best player is without doubt Virgil Van Dijk.
He's probably the best defender in the world at the moment. It's not just about what he does in terms of how he plays, it's his calmness and his presence on the pitch.
You only have to look at what Liverpool were like without him during the most of the 2020/21 season.

I had the pleasure of being at the Liverpool game v Indonesia in Jakarta in 2013. It was held at the. Gelora Bung Karno National Stadium in Senayan. I was working and living there at the time and the atmosphere was amazing. With over 80,000 fans in the stadium I just marveled at the support Liverpool had. What was funny though, I noticed the Indonesian fan were also cheering just as loudly for the Indonesia Team also and quite righty so. I’m no longer living in Indonesia but try to get back to Jakarta at least once a year to meet old friends as I have fond memories of the country. God bless Indonesia 🇮🇩

I'm a BIG BIG FAN FROM ZIMBABWE
Bonds formed during adversity are always stronger than those formed during prosperity. That's why the sense of community & unity among Liverpool supporters is unique in the modern day. The disrespect & haughty attitude by the administration, especially the Tories towards the people of Liverpool, have bonded them together in an unbreakable identity of "scousers". People of Liverpool have been discriminated, derided & disrespected over the years, not for being wrong but simply for being liverpudlians. No scouse will ever support the English anthem, unless those in London accept & admit their historical wrongdoings. Defiance, resilience & unity will continue to define Liverpool football club. This is the eternal fight for justice & in this fight the scousers will never walk alone & this means more.
What a great show!!!!

Some people are reading too much into YNWA and acting like it's a socialist rally cry and needs some deep examination. It's just not. Is that why the fans at Hillsborough started rooting through the pockets of the dead. Is that why there was a time in Liverpool that you couldn't even leave your clothes on the washing line or your milk bottles on the doorstep or they'd be robbed.
So you actually think fans actually did that after the videos and court suggest they didn't
