    After Munich, the first team to come to United's aid was Liverpool, offering players and everything else that was needed.
    After Hillsborough, the first person to call Kenny Dalglish was Sir Alex Ferguson, offering United's and his personal help in whatever was needed.
    Rivalry on the pitch, respect on and off the pitch. Working class knows working class.

So entertaining to watch these clubs collide with all the pressure they have with the fixture.. United Vs Liverpool at the moment is like a mid-table club Vs Liverpool...

    Last year I was living in Malaysia for a while and my appartment was facing a district with open air restaurants that were running 24/7. Some days, at around 2AM, I heard shouting and cheering. It wasn't until one night I decided to go for a midnight snack, that I realized they were all massively supporting Liverpool. Every time there was a match, the restaurants would be filled and everyone's attention was at the screens. Bizarre how the fanbase has grown over the years and how all eyes follow the premier league in general

    • @vlkscode
      @vlkscode 5 лет назад +16

      Lots of Malaysian in the past (60s, 70s) ended up in Kirkby for teaching English bachelor degree and Mersey dock working as dock workers hence being absorbed in the magic of Liverpool FC then. Sure enough, it was passed down to next generations then until recent time. The magic dwindling down at some point but never flamed out.

      @@3dsaulgoodman43 South East Asia is a Liverpool strong hold... Malaysia.. Borneo.. Singapore.. INDONESIA especially ARE Basically anfield east and add Australia into that, but united have taken a big bite into China and Japan rotates between united and Liverpool whenever a Japanese player plays for one of them and now it's Liverpool bcuz of Taki. Spurs took over the south Korean market bcuz of son which was smart cuz they never had a global fanbase like the other big boys.. Oh and Don't forget all of Egypt is Liverpool plain n simple cuz of Salah, Brazil is split between arsenal, Chelsea united and Liverpool but since Liverpool have more Brazilian players I hear Liverpool are dominating in Brazil again it always fluctuates there. United States is open territory that every epl club is tryin to take a huge bite out of, I'll tell u now I went to a 100k seater stadium at Michigan stadium when united vs liverpool played each other couple years ago in 2016 and 80% of the stadium was lfc 20% united that's roughly 80,000 people singing YNWA who never been to liverpool that's unprecedented and would've never thought that just 5yrs earlier that klopp would be the driving force of why the club is so attractive to New fans let alone the players .... That can give u an estimate of how big Liverpool are in the states now. Same with arsenal they have a big American presence. Chelsea has Africa on lock or atleast west African bcuz of the Drogba era and then mekelele and etoo later on. I tend to notice Africans just like Chelsea or most of them do mainly cuz of Drogba and as for city... Well they got nothing worldwide facts are facts they have zero world wide presence

      ## There's nothing wrong move from Liverpool to Man United. Afterall, the latter's greatest ever manager is the former Liverpool born and bred captain, Sir Matt Busby. Liverpool have always been the benchmark of excellence that United have strived for. The city has also given the club players like steve copell and Wayne Rooney. Lastly, Liverpool are European royalty with their 6 UCLs/European Cups, a feat that no english or British club can rival let alone emulate.

    Both great clubs, success comes down to who has the best manager. Utd had Busby and Fergie, Liverpool had Shankly, Paisley and now Klopp. I’d love Klopp to stay for a long long time but I know he won’t, he’s not that type of person and I just hope that Liverpool have a plan in place so that the club doesn’t go backwards once he leaves

No matter the rivalry we have more in common than we care to share and I this game is without the biggest in English football because of what it means to both fans. This documentary perfectly captured what this means to both fans, the banter, the passion and more than anything the love for their respective cities. I’ve been a Liverpool supporter since I really got into football when I was about 12/13 but even before I was proper interested. I always had to say I was a Liverpool fan because my dad was. I’m born and raised in Norwich. Then I really started getting into music and am currently attending a Music college in Manchester because that’s where all my heroes are from. You know, Oasis, Stone Roses, Smiths, Joy Division, The Verve (it’s near enough before anyone corrects me) so all I’ll say Is I love the culture of the north west and it’s always been a part of my life despite originally coming from 200 miles away.
    I love them both and have massive respect for each.

My best mate supports them and my in laws are from Manchester so there's friendly banter but it never gets too serious despite my love for our Reds. I'm sure living locally would have a different feel but I'm certain I would still feel the same. I love the rivalry(not any hatred) for sure and whilst I even admired their football(love the beautiful game) through the Premier League era of course I didn't want them to win, keep on winning grrrrrr when will it stop. I have seen so much over the years but can't recall as being excited and hopeful as I am now since Klopp arrived.
