I bought a brand new Duster last September and I absolutely love it, I honestly don't know why I like it so much but I do. My only regret is not buying a 4x4 version, having said that it was impeccable throughout the winter months so it didn't matter.
Got one from new 71 plate , due to work cutbacks no use of the pool cars so have had to use duster to get to different locations in the UK so clocked up 98k , its been reliable, excellent mpg it has everything I need and more , sat nav, Bluetooth, had it regularly serviced using dacia parts , oil etc,all in all I would not hesitate on getting a new one, it's diesel all I have to do is fill it up and add blue , well done dacia
Badge snobbery mate - its alive and well in the UK. Idiots will pay twice as much for a VW that offers nothing more than a Duster does. A few years back my company car Ford was in for repairs and I got a loan car that was a Skoda Superb. Gorgeous car - superbly equipped and drove well with huge room. Mt next door neighbour and brother -in -law agreed it was a great car but they would never have one because it has "that " badge on the bonnet. They would pay twice as much for a Passat - don't get it myself......
A useful review! Being cheaper cars its good to finally find a review that talks about the longer term reliability. I would be interested to hear more about its credentials as a car for green laning.
Think it looks great, I’ve always thought that base vehicles are much more honest than the high line models and I really like saving a few dollars. the Dacian and the Panda are two of my favorite European automobiles.
got it as a company car, 70 000km only thing that I had to do to it.. change the light bulbs. Everything else works perfect.. yea same only thing I regret not taking 4x4. Anyone knows when the new duster is coming out?
Good stuff, keep checking the oil and your good to go. From the top of my head (currently at a bbq) the facelift is out 2023 and the “bigster” is out 2025 give it take a year from what I’ve heard
@@EllisonAdventures I keep it serviced regulary, so far I wasnt warned by the mechanics that I m an idiot. 2023 hmm and yea that Bigster looks awesome if that concept comes through. I m looking to make a road trip to Kiev, visit Chernobyl with ma faithful Dusty so scouring any videos to see if people have any issues with the car. Thanks for replying
but I have one thing to add, I ve got the diesel version 1.5 and it says the tank is 50l I ve managed to fill 67 liters in the damn car. Several time over 60 liters..
I own a 1.3 turbo (petrol-manual) in india. The engine (156ps) actually seems refined and fairly quiet at least until one hits 5k rpm. I did never face any lack in performance so far in any terrain. Being at the driver's seat, one could never feel the power grunt that this unit generates as much feeling it standing right behind. Thanks to the stock exhaust for all the muffling therein, for sake of saving it all from the ever aggravating noise pollution, and more so while driving it thru the jungle.. 😊
Getting one myself with that engine. But its stupid to rev a turbo car that high. It has 240 NM in the 130 hp version. However the engine can tolerate it as the sleeves are spray coated like on F1 engines. The engine is made in collab with Mercedes and Nissan-Renault, and Mitsubishi
D'ya mind me asking where abouts you're from/located? I'm looking to buy one of these and would also like a couple of mods, I'm in Wigan. I'm a huge fan of the steels that come on the access rather than the alloys of the laureate. Is a lift kit necessary to accommodate the mud tyres? I also love the tyre noise 👍
Hi pal, I’m also in Wigan. The lift kit isn’t needed for the mud tyres I just did that to increase ground clearance for green lanes and also the option to put bigger tyres on later. The steel wheels I have are tuff torque as mine is a laureate and has the alloys but obviously they will break if you hit something on a lane.
@@EllisonAdventures I figured you might be fairly local, I can't believe I've never seen you about!! Once I pick one up I might pick your brain about where to get some bits for it. Cheers pal
Not sure about just the roof rack but with all the additional weight and things like mud terrain tyres my MPG on a motorway run has gone from 60mpg to 34mpg
Great review, mate! You mentioned in your other video that you have the Eibach lift kit on. What's your opinion on that and did you just install the Eibach springs, or the full kit with the B6 Bilstein shocks? I've got mine in the shop right now getting the full kit fitted and my mechanic is worried that the springs are too stiff and long for the shocks and they might rip off the mounting points. TIA
The Eibach pro lift kit is pretty good, I’m looking to swap it out for a bigger lift so more ground clearance but I have had no issues with it. The springs are heavy duty and so if you don’t carry extra load could be very stiff, mine has the extra load of the drawer system, fridge and all the gear on the roof and is still a little stiff. The shocks should be ok, I’ve had no issues and I’m pretty sure a lot of people are running the B6 some with bigger springs like the H&R
Enjoyed your video. Can I ask what mileage you did in it? Looking at buying new Duster in 2022,so your video helped. What accessories from Dacia would you recommend and would you buy the extended warranty? Also any rust issues and would you waxoil from new?
Hi there, My milage is around 60k miles, I don’t have any accessories from Dacia, I also didn’t get the extended warranty as I bought the car to modify. As for rust issues, pre 2014 had rust issues but they were sorted when production moved to Romania in 2014/2015, I don’t have mine waxoiled but I have always considered it but not yet got around to it. Hope this helps

Thinking of getting a race chip for the engine?
Not really thought of doing anything like that yet but I would probably have it remapped instead of the race chip or maybe even an engine swap
How’s the duster doing??
Still going strong, been using it as a daily currently as I’ve been working on some other projects that will be revealed in the new year
