      Mr Random Reviews if you wanna know another Lil trick to shut the governor off to go over the top speed of the cluster as soon as you get to where the governor turns on hit the 4 ways and then you can go faster than your speedo says your going (REASON the 4 ways flash when in pursuit so they connected the governor to the 4 ways so when they flash you can go faster)try it.....

    Perhaps they are in part 3, but you missed three items.
    1. In slippery conditions, putting the shifter into the 2 position will put the transmission into 2nd gear. It puts down less torque and helps when pulling out from a stop in the snow.
    2. The trunk button. Behind the dash is two wire connectors for that button. One allows it to work with the key off and the other restricts the button to only work with the key on.
    3. In the trunk there is a manual trunk release, like if you were locked inside. It can be accessed from the outside by removing the reverse light (I think that's where it is, it's been a while) and the trunk can be opened from the outside without a key, and minimal damage. Some departments would weld a piece to block access.

    You forgot to tell them about the hidden steering wheel. It's located right in front of the dash cluster and it can be used for steering the car in case your route requires turns and not just a straight line. Oh and the secret way to turn off the breaks without having to turn of traction control. You just snip the lines and tadaa, no breaks. But don't tell anyone. It's a secret.

    Informative video. The part about the drug stash openings at the back seat is especially interesting (never knew they'd use that to stash stuff).
    One thing though- just because there may be a knock or ping in the engine doesn't necessarily mean it's rod knock. It might actually be the timing chain and tensioners, which get loose (and -according to Ford- should be replaced at around 120,000 miles). They'll make a bit of a racket at occasionally at startup until they're replaced. A rod knock will sound a lot more serious- something like someone smacking the engine block with an aluminum baseball bat... you'll definitely know when you hear it.
    Also- CVPIs after 2009 used P7B in the VIN instead of P71.
    I've had my CVPI now for a little over three years now. Got it when it had 89,000 miles on the odometer and 4100 hours on it (it has 147,880 mi/4335 hrs. on it now). Runs like a champ even with slight timing chain noise starting to happen.

      the guy doesnt know what hes on about. lol. he doesnt know what rod knock is if he had it even. He'll think a click from a fuel injector is rod knock even. lol

  • @bryonheath
    @bryonheath 7 лет назад +6

    the ABS on a cvpi does not have any thing to do with traction control traction control would be a separate circuit on the pcm
    also the fuel pump shut off is standard equipment on all modern vehicles to prevent engine fires from mva's
    also a "certified calabration"is only relevant if the tires are the same size I.E if some one bought new tires that were bigger the true speed would be higher than indicated speed and opposite for smaller tires

    The ballistic doors are a $4k factory option and you can definitely feel the difference between those that have it and those that don't. I had a 2008 with ballistic doors and it takes effort to open and close those doors. There was a memo out to not kick those ballistic doors open to get them to shut when we are seated in the car because the heavy doors could come back with enough force to break your ankle.

    Certified calibration is useful because certain radars cannot register a speed while in motion, hence the need for calibration. But that can and is frequently thrown out.

    I have a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor. Inside my trunk, behind the right tail light I have an On/Off switch. I know it's not a fuel shut off button since I have it on the left. Thought you might know what it is.

  • @johnweisinger7390
    @johnweisinger7390 7 лет назад +24

    Every fuel injected vehicle since the 80's has been required to have a fuel pump shutoff switch.

    • @solrosenberg9552
      @solrosenberg9552 7 лет назад

      So they are hidden in other vehicles? Or did you mean certain vehicles or brands? I've owned many civilian vehicles of various brands and models that are fuel injected and newer than 97 that did not have any that were obvious to be found in the trunk or elsewhere. I'll keep that in mind and look into it more for future reference. If true, thanks for that info.

    • @johnweisinger7390
      @johnweisinger7390 7 лет назад

      They are usually behind the carpeting and some in the inner structure on the sides of the trunk and some are behind the kick panels in the front footwells. Owners manuals will tell you where they are located.
      They are mandatory because if a fuel line becomes ruptured in a collision, the electric pump will continue to pump fuel creating a fire hazard. First one I ever saw was on the '84 Dodge Daytona Turbo I had as a teen.

    Just a quick question , you said the 2006-2009 have kevlar in the front doors on the P71 package !!! Do the 2010-2011 P7B have the same secrets as the others?? Thanks

    • @BC.ZJ.OVERLAND
      @BC.ZJ.OVERLAND 7 лет назад +2

      They dont have kevlar in the front doors. cops remove the panels at end of service to be put into new cars or the panels get destroyed. they are never sold to civilians unless the car was totalled and the panels were not accessible. the P7B is a continuation of the P71. You have the same features as the 06+ but the guy who makes these videos is clueless. If you want to know some real secrets, message me. I'll tell you more then this guy could ever even guess.

    Dude, certified calibration means the speedo has been calibrated to tighter tolerance than a civilian speedo at time of instrument cluster manufacture.
    Which is not the same as a certified calibration run on a dyno for legal proceedings.

    • @MrRandomReviews
      @MrRandomReviews  7 лет назад +1

      WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG.....working more than 8 years in law enforcement and going to 8 different radar and speedometer calibrations i can call BS on this...you need to do a better job at googling next time becuase EXPERIENCE trumps it

    • @alexb.1320
      @alexb.1320 7 лет назад +2

      Your experience as law enforcement and certified calibration isn't the same as whats silk screened on a speedo that comes as delivered from the factory. They are using the same terms, but different reasons for each. Yours is actually certifiying the accuracy of the speedometer. The 'certified calibration' silk screened on the speedo is certifying that the speedo is accurately reporting what is input to it.

    • @MrRandomReviews
      @MrRandomReviews  7 лет назад +1

      alex...you do realize that you just said EXACTLY what i said in the video right??? go back to that part of the video and youll see what i mean

    • @111himan
      @111himan 7 лет назад +1

      The silk screened certified calibration is pretty much redundant with an in-service police vehicle that has received calibration certificate from a calibration service. It's even more redundant with a traffic officer who is trained in radar and visual estimations

    • @BC.ZJ.OVERLAND

      posi track? what are you smoking? its a ford. its trac lok and is your car equipped with it? You need to contact dealer for a harness that does permanantly disable the traction control. Also, try adding weight into the trunk for driving in the snow. couple sand bags and you will be good to go. atleast 300 pounds though.

    I'm looking at either a 2000 or 2009 crown Vic. The 2000 (p71) has 120k miles, dual flow master exhaust, and cold air intake. The 2009 (p71) has 130k miles. Does it matter? Price is $3000 for the 2000 and $3100 for the 2009.

    • @BC.ZJ.OVERLAND
      @BC.ZJ.OVERLAND 7 лет назад +1

      2009 is flex fuel. Go for 2009. it'll have more power, and parts will be easier to come across. they are on 17's so your ride will be smoother, the transmission is a 4r75e which is a f150 transmission so its a little bit better, and it being newer gives you the digital odometer which is nice to have.

  • @solrosenberg9552

    Not sure how accurate gps speed apps are, but all my vehicles have been dead on or within a mile per hour. I've also compared my speed to those police radar watch your speed things were I used cruise control so it would not vary. My 1998 oldsmobile 88 was accurate at highway speeds but at lower speeds like 30mph it was a mile per hour faster than what the speedometer said I was going. As long as the tires are correct size and inflated properly, any newer vehicle in good shape is likely callibrated properly in my experience. So far anyways and as far as mattering in most court cases where being off by one mile will not make any difference. Also many officers in my experience of riding with other people that were speeding, the officers reduce the speed on the ticket to be nice. If you were not purposely speeding and if you don't give them a hard time anyways.

    Several years ago a friend of mine ppurchased a Crown Vic at a government auction. He did not own the vehicle but only a week or so. He did notice at one time it drove extremely quick. Also he noticed that his daily work commute was using much less fuel than normal. Few days later the police showed up at his place of work, which was a body show,and they explained this car had not gone through the process of making it ready to be sold to the public. The car was taken from him,nad the money paid at auction was refunded. Don't know if I would have agreed to this without first asking for legal advise. The was nothing on the bill of sale stating anything but sale is final. The buyer purchased the car in good faith, and believe he had legal rights to the car. What do you think?

    • @MrRandomReviews

    • @henryperry2710
      @henryperry2710 7 лет назад

      I keep my OD off (light on) until i maintain speeds above 50mph. This will keep your trans from shifting in and out od OD. ......And Mr. Random, we have a 4spd trans not 5. 3rd gear is direct drive. 1:1 ratio, and 4th is 0.70:1..... love your vids thou keep them coming... oh and one more thing, the 1500, 2500 has nothing to do with the tow ratings. I own a 2014 cummins ram, and its rated to tow 17,000lbs

    • @111himan
      @111himan 7 лет назад +1

      It is not a sport mode. Its used mostly for towing or wherever it needs to prevent the transmission from constantly shifting in and out of overdrive on uneven terrain. It essentially locks out the 4th gear. My 07 vic runs better with overdrive left on

    • @BC.ZJ.OVERLAND
      @BC.ZJ.OVERLAND 7 лет назад

      no you don't. lol. that cage restricts the seats from going all the way back, and it also prevents you from reclining your seat. its irritating. i took mine out for that exact reason.

    So the doors are bulletresistant but what about the Windows

    • @solrosenberg9552
      @solrosenberg9552 7 лет назад +1

      No. That is a even more expensive option. Bullet proof doors are a option (not standard) that many departments don't even get. The bullet proof door option is likely used from high crime area departments.

    • @BC.ZJ.OVERLAND
      @BC.ZJ.OVERLAND 7 лет назад +1

      The doors aren't bullet resistant. They are ballistic panels that are put in the doors and removed after service as they are too expensive to just let them go in an auction. They are over a grand to replace all 4.

    If your driver seat is automatic, and the passenger seat is manual, the passenger side is wired for automatic seats.

      aftermarket. cops usually remove the module or cut off the button. dont know why they do but they do. mine they just cut the button off so i put in a new button and it worked.

    the fuel pump shut off is on most fords , pain in the ass if it goes out because most shops won't even check it if your vehicle wont start( notorious for tripping for no reason) simple hack...cut the 2 wires going into the button and twist them together...bypassing the tripper switch...not ideal but it will get you down the road and save you anger issues of trying to explain to dumbass mechanics its not the gas cap!

    more fun facts....
    1. you can put a normal car inner tube in the lowest part of the trunk and the cram a blanket around it, then fold a blanket to lay on and boom up to a 6ft tall person can sleep in it, its a camper.
    2. both front seats recline 95% flat. who needs a tent when camping.you can fit three people in a Vic to sleep fairly comfy .
    3. the pcm can run a 2v 4.6 and a 4v 4.6 , it will also run a 5.4 2v & 4v( will need to be tuned for max perf) .
    4. it uses the most common bolt pattern and off set for its wheels. that's right a impala wheel fits, dodge intreped , new camaro wheel , dodge cop car wheels .
    5. one of the easiest of the newer gen cars to modify . its a non pats car so swapping engines is a cake walk. 2jz no shit! ls v8 , no problem...the 4.6 dimensionally is bigger than a 460, every thing fits.
    6. is the easiest of the big cars to control , if you've owned one you all know what I'm talking about . give it 100 horse extra and swap a t56 in and go merc and BMW hunting.

    the amount of problems with this video is sickening.
    its not a fuel pump shutoff switch. its called an inertia switch.
    Secret chair controls? are you kidding me? if somebody didnt see these controls, they shouldnt be driving. it has nothing to do with budgets or departments. it has to do with the model year.
    Traction control off switch? its not hidden really. if you want to permanantly turn off your traction control, ford sells a harness that goes in place of the button which permanantly shuts it off.
    You act like you know everything about these cars. but it seems you really dont know much. I should make a real video and message you about it. Something cool and useful. How bout a video of how to do your gauge cluster test? Thats a really fun one.

    That fuel cut off switch is not a secret; as I know all the cars have it ( at least in Europe since 80's ) It's called "inertia switch".
