Welcome to Chengdu Shev and Dev! I would like to show you guys around if you have time, looking forward to hear from you, Im a big fan of your channel and currently in Chendu😊
You can order outside food (eg. KFC, McDonald, Starbuck and other Chinese foods) inside the train. the food will be delivered to you by the train staff.
My wife is Chinese and I have traveled on the Chinese high speed rail . Chongqing to Chengdu was very smooth and fast. clean too. Excellent presentation. Thank you for sharing .
You are riding on the old Harmony train, which has been in operation in China for 16 years. The service life of the Harmony train is designed to be 20 years. By 2030, most of the Harmony trains will be out of daily operation and will be replaced by Fuxing trains. Currently, the latest version of Fuxing train has been upgraded to the second-generation intelligent model. In addition, in 2025, China's latest generation of intelligent Fuxing trains, CR450, with an operating speed of 400 km/h, will be put into operation on new lines.
The people who are sitting on the ground are because they bought a ticket without the seat (it's the same price as 2nd class ticket so not many people would do this), they are usually in a hurry to get somewhere or only on the train for a few stops.
@@Trust_but_Verify Stand up tickets and seat tickets are priced the same, but stand up tickets generally do not have seats unless there are seats available and no one is sitting. There are many trains in China, and they are very dense. Generally, there is no need to buy station tickets unless it is a holiday.
@@Trust_but_Verify This is like overbooking policy of airlines and hotels. Because there are always people who make reservations but no show, they are usually overbooked by 10-20%. But sometimes all the reserved passengers show up, or there are passengers who make last-minute reservations, so the waitlist passengers have to take their chances and end up standing.
@@gulijim8080 So, I have something to supplement. First, only people who have a short distance to travel could buy the stand-up tickets. Second, if there are any empty seats, the people who bought stand-up tickets can sit there, unless the person who bought the seat tickets comes. This is because China has a huge population, and sometimes people have emergency situations where they have to buy stand-up tickets. This is convenient for these people who are in a hurry.
The highest class of high-speed trains is business class. I hope you can take it next time. Business class passengers can rest in the VIP lounge with a dedicated escort. The experience is even better in business class, where you can sleep and get free snacks. Must experience it next time!
The train is CRH-2A which is old model and original from Japan. because from Guangzhou to Chengdou, it has lots of stops, the distance between some stops aren't too far, it can't always keep at 300kmh, I saw sometimes the speed is only 180kmh. however the train you took last time from Shanghai to Beijing is "Fuxing" which is a total brand-new model and designed by China independently after absorption 4 different technology routes among German, Japan, France and Canada. so the "Fuxing" is the best train for China and maybe in the world. it can run at 350kmh, from Shanghai to Beijing they only stop at a few major stations. so whenever you take the HSR train in China, don't be surprised if you find trains are running at the different speed. e.g., 180kmh or 250kmh or 300kmh or 350kmh on differnt routes because they may use the different train model.
@@f.s.monster3765 You can determine by the train number code: The train code of Harmony usually starts with "CRH". The train number code of the Fuxing Express starts with "CR", and sometimes it is directly labeled as "Fuxing Express".
@@f.s.monster3765 if you are Chinese, it's easy to find out through website, they will tell you which route use "Fuxing" train. I remember 30% of HSRs in China are running at 350kmh. if you aren't Chinese, just use math method.(speed=distance/duration time), but you need also consider the qty of stop stations.
Your train is the older train, the 1st generation train. This train was developed with the help from Japan and Siemens. Its operational speed tops at 250km/hr. China has since developed the 2nd generation of its high speed trains from ground up so that they can sell to other countries like they did for Lao and Indonesia. The 2nd gen train is called Fuxing (复兴号 - reborn) and is much nicer and can go up to 350km/hr. When booking trains, for example from Guangzhou to Chenngdu, there are about 22 trains per day and each train has different travel times, ranging from 7 hours to 10 hours. That is because they don't travel on the same route. Each train goes through different cities and travels at different speeds. The trains starting with D (Dong che) are usually 250km/hr trains and the one with the G (Gaotie) are high speed trains and travel at 350km/hr.
The moment I stepped into China, I was pleasantly surprised by the 144-hour visa-free policy. From the bustling cities to the alleys of ancient towns, every place was beyond imagination. The beauty of China is well-deserved!
a bit unfortunatlly is that you took the train line starts with "D" instead of "G", and "D" Train is the oldest high speed train first came up like 15 yrs ago. As you can imagine it is a little bit out dated. With the "G" Train you could have save 3 hrs in this journey cuz it`s faster and newer and moderner. Check the train line next time before you buy the ticket :)
You guys are incredible! I am not sure if I can sit down for 10 hours train, I tried 5 hours train from Wuhan to Hong Kong, it’s enough for me hahaha. Thanks for sharing, enjoy your trip in China! Watching from Australia 🇦🇺
As a Chengdu native, it is not recommended to purchase items or eat delicious food near scenic spots. In Chengdu, delicious food is often found on the streets. For example, the Kuixing Building on the street next to Kuanzhai Alley is delicious and not expensive.
I think this train is an older version different from the previous one you took on your first visit. But still look fresh, clean and comfortable. Anyway have a amazing time in Chengdu. Beautiful place and great food. Take care! Cheers from Macau, China
The train ticket you two booked has its name started with letter "D" which means it is "Dong Che", that is the second tier of HSR. The first tier HSR should have ticket name starting with letter "G" which means "Gao Tie" -- the real high speed rail. The two have totally different technology. Usually "Dong Che" runs below 300km/h, typically ~250km/h. I checked the faster "G" train between Guangzhou to ChengDu takes 7.5 hours, while the price is just a little higher than the "D" train, ~10% higher.
Welcome back to Guangzhou where I live,I just took train back to Wuhan where my hometown is next to. Love your vedio, hope you enjoy your journey in China.
standing seat ticket means they can sit down on any seats at long as they are empty. usually HSR train will sell a few standing seat tickets. only the short-distance passengers will buy the standing seat ticket.

When you said you had 30 minutes before the train left and you were going to get coffee, I panicked for you! No way I would do that (of course, I don't drink coffee). I would have been heading for the train at the 30 min mark, if not earlier. Also, I noticed right from the start that the train looked older and less well-maintained than most trains I've seen on videos about China. One thing: for a high speed train to stop at all the small stations strikes me as odd. This train was definitely more of a general service train. Great video! Hope you enjoy Chengdu.
You guys should try business class. Definitely worth the price, especially business class lounge, which provides dedicated guide to remind and lead you to check in. No waiting in line. The entire car is tranquil with ample space.

12:39 so the price of first class is approximately 1.5 times of the second class, and the business class is approximately 3 times of second class, twice of first class. I’d go for first class because I’m too fat for 2nd class😂😂
You are very lucky. You can see the yellow track inspection train on the platform of Guangzhou South Railway Station, which is not often seen. 你們非常幸運,在廣州南站月台可以見到黃色的軌道檢測列車,不是經常可以見到。
There is a subway when you exit the station, so there is no need to take a DIDI. If you must take a taxi, just queue up at the taxi station and take an ordinary taxi. There is no need to take Didi because it is difficult for Didi to enter the station.

7:13 How lucky you two are!!! The yellow train is Dr. Yellow, i.e. the train checking if the railway assets are safe to run. Its timetable can never be known
12:39 so the price of first class is approximately 1.5 times of the second class, and the business class is approximately 3 times of second class, twice of first class. I’d go for first class because I’m too fat for 2nd class😂😂
You guys are back to China😍
Love your channel 😊😂
You are very lucky. You can see the yellow track inspection train on the platform of Guangzhou South Railway Station, which is not often seen.
你們非常幸運,在廣州南站月台可以見到黃色的軌道檢測列車,不是經常可以見到。
Hope you guys have fun here
What camera do you guys use and attachments thanks!
There is no doubt that China's infrastructure construction ranks first in the world😀
实际上并不在美国列的榜单上
Wow, what an amazing trip. I hope to do that someday
I like both of you and hope you have a great time in China
13:45 Curiosity!
There are also many places worth playing in Guangxi and Yunnan where you pass through. Such as Guilin, Kunming, Lijiang and so on
so relaxing
There is a subway when you exit the station, so there is no need to take a DIDI. If you must take a taxi, just queue up at the taxi station and take an ordinary taxi. There is no need to take Didi because it is difficult for Didi to enter the station.
This is Guangzhou South Railway Station, not Guangzhou West Railway Station. Guangzhou West Railway Station is a small freight railway station.

Have a time in China.
The trains starting with letter G are faster. The fastest train from Guangzhou to Chengdu takes only a little bit more than 7 hours.
Should try business class which is highest class equal to 1st class on plane
这一路错过桂林,阳朔,昆明,大理,丽江,香格里拉
My hometown folk are famous for their big voices. Welcome to Chengdu and I hope your ears survive.
