Police everywhere is their crime prevention policy and it works wonders. Crime rate is VERY low. I know how it felt the first time I arrived, but the police are your friends, they are all over, they are at a "crime scene" in seconds, their presence is a deterrent for any would be criminals. And the cameras are the reason why I leave my bike unlocked outside, imagine that????
I visited China 15 years ago, and I realized exactly what you are discovering today on this marvellous country. You put tears in my eyes. Thank you, Shev and Dev for so much beauty. F. B. from Québec, Canada.
There are a few reasons why western countries the governments don't want their citizens to visit China. 1st to see all the Chinese super infrastructures. 2nd how China is able to keep the public areas so clean, green and organized. 3th why China is so safe even for foreigners. If those western countries people visit China and see all these, they will realize how useless their governments are compared to the Chinese government. With so much taxes they're paying, yet their useless governments are not able to provide them the same infrastructures, cleanliness and safety to the people. That is why their governments keep lying to them about how bad China is. The governments do not want the people to see the real China and compare.
If you do not want to do bad things, you will not be afraid of those surveying cameras, instead, you will appreciate those cameras to protect your safety.
Felt so unsafe in London and Birmingham at night, even walking around back street in south Melbourne at night felt dangerous. absolutely relaxed travelling with my three young kids in China, thank you Chinese cameras
They have a lot more people than most Western cities. It makes sense to have police around to assist and keep people safe. Don't want a repeat of that sad stampede incident like in South Korea. More importantly it gives people a peace of mind to enjoy themselves free of crime and other nonsense!!
There is a saying in China that goes, "When you have trouble, go to the police." This “trouble” does not just mean that you have been violated, robbed, or cheated, but that you can seek help from the police if you encounter any problem that you cannot solve. Even if you have not eaten for several days, you can ask the police for help, and they will help you. I think this is one of the meanings of the police's existence. As long as you do not break the law, they are your best helpers.

Two thousand years ago the Chinese philosopher Confucius taught the Chinese people in his book, is it not a real delight to have friends come to visit you from afar. This is why every Chinese treats foreigners politely and warmly.
The safest city is Sydney, where 80% of buildings have walls only 1.7 meters high. There are no security checks when taking the subway, and one-third of the subway stations have no barriers, relying on passengers to tap their cards voluntarily.
The people on the street are not exactly police officers. Many are security guards employed by private companies or the government. Usually they are lively streets or scenic spots. The same reason applies to cameras. The more people and traffic there is, the more cameras there are. The purpose is to prevent crime and collect criminal evidence, you don't need to worry

@monipenny408 I have absolutely no problems with cops in the US. I appreciate them and know that they have a very difficult, dangerous, and stressful job.
I just found this channel. I can't believe there are so many foreigners now posting their trip in China and debunking the lies about anything China. That goes to tell you just go and see for yourself.
In fact, the country with the largest total number of cameras is China, the country with the largest number of cameras per capita is US, and the city with the highest camera density is London.
You guys are so lovely and professional with your vlogs! Here in America, we also have tons of public cameras and cops. The big difference is that in China, you don't need to fear them. In fact, Chinese cops are very friendly and always willing to help with whatever you need.
I have worked in the U.S. for the past 30 years, but it seems the country is regressing and deteriorating, either unwittingly or wittingly, in recent years. I am glad to be moving back to my home country and looking forward to enjoying my retirement life in my home country and China.
Welcome to Shanghai. You are handsome and beautiful. That’s why some people loved to have photos with you.😊 We live in Australia and my kids don’t like spend holidays here. They enjoyed each travel to China, different views different food in different cities. And the most important thing is safety. Thank you so much!! Yes China exceeded our expectations for sure! Glad to know you and your kids love travelling here too! Safety is a huge deal for us😍thank you for sharing your story with us!
Chinese people are so enthusiastic and kind rather than selfish and full of hatred as some media promote. I have lived in Hangzhou for 2 years!a city worth to visiting
Subscribed. What an amazing video. I have been to some Chinese cities like Shenzhen, Hongkong, Shanghai, Chongqing and Beijing. Shenzhen is my favorite city, it's so clean and technologically advanced. Shanghai and Hongkong are also world-class cities. Chongqing is vibrant, Beijing is my least Chinese city but still amazed me a lots with it's historical scenes. I can definitely tell you Shenzhen, Shanghai and Hongkong definitely much better than any American cities including NYC.
lol you are not the only one do not like Beijing that much. There is a joke in China: Every young person should live in Beijing at least once, and they will love the city wherever they move to later😂. The city is too big and as the capital, it has to remain a lot of space for historical buildings and administrations. So It's not that convenient and centered as Shanghai or other cities. But its unique vibe is still attractive
I"m chinese , aftet watching your video, I am becoming more proud of my homeland . thanks again for your videos. shanghai's mix of modernization and tradition is impressive. due to west media's negetive propaganda of china, forreigner mayy conviced that china is not good, actully the chinese people are living much better than before.
Every RUclipsr: China is not what you think! Me watching every youtube video: yep thats China! Not sure why there is such a weird vibe about traveling to China. It's a place i'd like to see.
It might seem weird to you, but it just goes to show how wrong and mistaken people’s idea of China is around the world, and how bad China has been reported, that pretty much every RUclipsr has to use this kind of title to let their audience know they have been lied to.
There are a few reasons why western countries the governments don't want their citizens to visit China. 1st to see all the Chinese super infrastructures. 2nd how China is able to keep the public areas so clean, green and organized. 3th why China is so safe even for foreigners. Some people claim all these travellers on RUclips that like China are paid by the Chinese government. Just wait a few days and this couple will be added to the list 🤣
showing & telling the truth about China to their western folks is political suicide. western politicians & their govt failed badly to providing their citizens safe clean effective govt & healthy progressive society. Not to mention about the development & infrastructure.
16:21 are green tea leaves. The dark black ones will be for various types of black tea. Chinese traditionally like to drink tea from whole tea leaves and not grounded tea leaves in teabags. Tea is infused with whole tea leaves have a more delicate and nuanced flavour profile than grounded tea. Teabags containing grounded tea were a modern British invention. But now in more modern times with globalisation, China do sell cheaper tea in teabags as well. Generally tea leaves are still much more valued than grounded tea.
As a local person,I highly recommend you to have a tour for several days to Suzhou city which is very near from Shanghai around 20~30min by trian or 1hour by car,Suzhou city is most beautiful garden and very long history city in China,I have been there for 3 times, really worth to go!
you dropped trash in the wrong side, one was for waste, other recyclable 😅 some of the 'police' are actually security guards common in big tourist shopping areas. the police should have a big 'police' on their uniform. they aren't armed and are just there mostly for crowd control since it's dangerous when too many people group tightly together. the cameras don't track you in real time - just another western propaganda bit. if something happens, they can check back to sort things out so if you ever have problems in china, just ask any police for help.
Hi Shev and Dev thanks for showing the world how amazing China is and how friendly Chinese people are. You guys are amazing and so friendly and nice too!!!
I love how the locals want to take photos with you guys; it means they really appreciate foreigners coming over to see their beautiful country. The Chinese are really people of great culture.
I'm from mainland China. Welcome to China. Although China is not that simple for foreign travelers, and the quality of some Chinese people still needs to be improved, China will definitely surprise travelers in many aspects. The Chinese people are very hospitable, China's public facilities are also very convenient, and public transportation is cheap and smooth. The most important thing is that China is rich in tourism resources, culture and food. If you love to travel, China must be one of your destination that you can't give up.
15:04 It is Chinese black rice vinegar which taste like delicious balsamic vinegar. It is a popular condiment with many various dishes you will see in China. Very simulating for the tastebuds. One can also cook with it.
Welcome to China! Chinese people have a very positive attitude towards police cameras, which makes us feel safe. There are many beautiful provinces in China that are worth exploring. Each province has its own unique eating habits, history and culture, famous tourist attractions and architectural styles. My favorite place is Dali City, Yunnan Province, where the blue sky and white clouds in the plateau area, Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake are unique, and many ethnic minorities in China are gathered there. You can go and have a look.
Quite consistent with what I saw in China! The cleanest and safest country in the world. No signs of poverty anywhere and people are happy with the way the country is run.
When you lose something like a wallet, go to the police, indicate location, time and date and the police will find it for you within 24 to 48 hours. My nephew lost his wallet in a taxi and got it back within 24hrs using the Security Cameras and the taxi driver returned it the next day and didnt want to accept any rewards at all. The police is for our safety and the country where I come from similarly has the same security arrangements even armed police squads in our trains.
maybe China. actually you don't need to go to the police, just called 110. I just called 110 2 days ago. if im in trouble or see someone in trouble that i cant help, i will call 110. I am an active caller, I hope they keep my records. I hoped my country become as good as US, so i called 110 from 1998.

If you continue to travel in China during this period, you should check the weather in advance. Many cities in China are in the rainy season. During the rainy season, I recommend Hangzhou, Wuzhen, Suzhou, Hongcun in Anhui Province and other southern CIDs with black bricks and white walls. Many ancient Chinese poems describe the beautiful scenery of Jiangnan in the rain.
First time here, I enjoyed your wonderful and informative video throughout. @7:31 well done describing exactly for what it was which many foreign visitors/RUclipsrs failed to do. Enjoy your trip in China, it will be a place you will remember for life and want to go back again.
This is my favorite touring video of SH so far, you two did a great job showing this real city. thank you so much~ from a Chinese audience who have been living and working in shanghai foe 8 years.
Many of the "police" you see are actually not police officers, but security guards of enterprises. The number of police officers in China is actually very small.
Shanghai is one of the world's greatest cities. Two of its premier sights are the Bund and Yu Gardens. What little is shown of the iconic Bund comes w/out explanation, and they went too late to visit beautiful Yu Garden. Checking Yu's operating hours in advance would've made for better planning and we could've seen how magnificent it is. More footage of these unique Shanghai sites could be used in place of some of the footage showing retail stores, malls, transit stations, and selfies.
I am Chinese. I have been to all the cities you went to. I can prove that what you said is true. I also hope that more people can travel to China to understand this country and culture.
The shanghai shopping distric or Nangjin road, used to be much more crowded 10 years ago. It was not even possible to walk without constantly bumping into people. Nowadays, people do most shopping online hence there is a dramatic decline of people on teh street. I went to there recently and was shocked by empty department stores there.
Excellent quality video! Fantastic! So cute couple, just like models! No wander so many people want to take photos of you and with you guys. Enjoy your trip in China❤
Thanks for the video! Slurping noodles is not "mandatory" 😄 (unlike in Japan?), in fact, in business settings, it's considered impolite. However, in casual settings, it's okay to slurp noodles.

if you don't want to tell the guy your age, you can refuse, especially a woman. It's not a problem. It's true that Chinese has no prohibition of asking a stranger: "how old are you?"
Watching your videos is like being back in joburg...now I understand why people say us Saffas have the best accent. Thanks for a lovely video and being so kind and respectful to the people of China ❤
The reason those people want to take photos and are very interested is because they are likely domestic tourists who came from other provinces most likely rural areas, they rarely see other races for the longest time after the quasi end of the civil war so when they see you they are amazed like seeing a flower or an animal you have never encountered before, its not a negative on their part, it's all good and they are happy to think foreigners are visiting their country.
I’m sure You haven’t been in China before and even never read any real information about China. Give you with one Chinese word: 鼠目寸光😅, if you can understand this proverb, you would not saying about Chinese people in this way. I’m sorry to provoke you, because you’re insulting my people, my country, never let this behavior just going away. By the way you’re welcome to visit, once you did you would understand another Chinese proverb: seeing is believing. Hope everything is moving well to you, because I want to see one day you will regret what you said today.

You guys are so lovely and professional with your vlogs! Here in America, we also have tons of public cameras and cops. The big difference is that in China, you don't need to fear them. In fact, Chinese cops are very friendly and always willing to help with whatever you need.
Because Chinese childhood education is to go to the police
I have worked in the U.S. for the past 30 years, but it seems the country is regressing and deteriorating, either unwittingly or wittingly, in recent years. I am glad to be moving back to my home country and looking forward to enjoying my retirement life in my home country and China.

Welcome to Shanghai. You are handsome and beautiful. That’s why some people loved to have photos with you.😊 We live in Australia and my kids don’t like spend holidays here. They enjoyed each travel to China, different views different food in different cities. And the most important thing is safety. We can do city walking and have yummy food midnight. ❤ Throwing coins in the temple is both for fun and lucky life. If you’re happy everyday, you must have a lucky life. Mint and redbean flavours are my favourite ones in Big Rabbit Shop. Love you guys showing real China to the world.❤

Every City in China is Modern, futuristic, clean , there infrastracture is in another level.😊
Professional! No wonder one has so many fans!Welcome to my country
Wow thank you so much! 😍❤
But its unique vibe is still attractive
thank u and welcome to shenzhen again

Both of you are so full of energy. Wonderful watching your adventures in Shanghai. Cheers from the USA!
Every RUclipsr: China is not what you think!
Me watching every youtube video: yep thats China!
Not sure why there is such a weird vibe about traveling to China. It's a place i'd like to see.
Because this country has been smeared and spread for too long
It might seem weird to you, but it just goes to show how wrong and mistaken people’s idea of China is around the world, and how bad China has been reported, that pretty much every RUclipsr has to use this kind of title to let their audience know they have been lied to.
There are a few reasons why western countries the governments don't want their citizens to visit China.
1st to see all the Chinese super infrastructures.
2nd how China is able to keep the public areas so clean, green and organized.
3th why China is so safe even for foreigners.
The governments do not want the people to see the real China and compare.
bcz, therearelosersarecrying......................!ha..............
Some people claim all these travellers on RUclips that like China are paid by the Chinese government. Just wait a few days and this couple will be added to the list 🤣
Another Awesome Adventure Thank You Shev And Dev 🙂❤👍 Shanghai China is so Beautiful 🙂Watching from NB Canada 🙂
Welcome to China ! You are so nice. The Chinese really like you guys.
In U.S., those power bank booths will be emptied out quickly and all the power banks will disappear and never be returned.😳
😂😂😂
There is a deposit to pay
@@ExperienceCN what he means is that in America they're all stolen😂😂
This is not something Western governments like to hear.
Actually nobody cares what they like to hear.
showing & telling the truth about China to their western folks is political suicide. western politicians & their govt failed badly to providing their citizens safe clean effective govt & healthy progressive society. Not to mention about the development & infrastructure.
We travel to discover and steer away from misconceptions - i hope we can discover more amazing places in China 😊
You can goto macdonalds or walking alone at any parks 4am.

Red tea in China is black tea in the West.
As a local person,I highly recommend you to have a tour for several days to Suzhou city which is very near from Shanghai around 20~30min by trian or 1hour by car,Suzhou city is most beautiful garden and very long history city in China,I have been there for 3 times, really worth to go!
you dropped trash in the wrong side, one was for waste, other recyclable 😅
some of the 'police' are actually security guards common in big tourist shopping areas. the police should have a big 'police' on their uniform. they aren't armed and are just there mostly for crowd control since it's dangerous when too many people group tightly together. the cameras don't track you in real time - just another western propaganda bit. if something happens, they can check back to sort things out so if you ever have problems in china, just ask any police for help.
Does anyone really think there will be another 1.4 billion people watching cameras monitoring 1.4 billion people?😆
They dropped a small paper box, which is recyclable.

I love how the locals want to take photos with you guys; it means they really appreciate foreigners coming over to see their beautiful country. The Chinese are really people of great culture.
You guys are very articulated, professional presenters. I really enjoy your video from top to finish. Bravo and thank you both!!
My profile picture is the white clouds and Cangshan Mountain in Dali City. I really like it.
What country are you from
maybe China. actually you don't need to go to the police, just called 110. I just called 110 2 days ago. if im in trouble or see someone in trouble that i cant help, i will call 110. I am an active caller, I hope they keep my records. I hoped my country become as good as US, so i called 110 from 1998.

You see that most uniformed individuals are not police officers but security personnel.

I come from China, and I like your presentation of China very much.
You were well prepared to see China through an undistorted lens. Appreciate that.👍👍
40:59 The beautiful sunset in the city suggests that China doesn't have the air pollution reported by the media.
I really like the wine tasting part, from low to high level.......🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LOL
I am Chinese. I have been to all the cities you went to. I can prove that what you said is true. I also hope that more people can travel to China to understand this country and culture.
I have been to South Africa 4 times,JHB and Pretoria,I am from Shenzhen City,China
The shanghai shopping distric or Nangjin road, used to be much more crowded 10 years ago. It was not even possible to walk without constantly bumping into people. Nowadays, people do most shopping online hence there is a dramatic decline of people on teh street. I went to there recently and was shocked by empty department stores there.

if you don't want to tell the guy your age, you can refuse, especially a woman.
