Alina, just for your information. Zhangjiajie is located in Xiangxi region, a historical minority majority region. The region was incorporated into China during the Three-Kindom Era (ca. 220 to 280). After 1800 years, the minority languages are still being spoken, the various minority groups account for nearly 90% of the population. This is in stark contrast to the fate of Native Americans in North America and the Aboriginals in Australia.

Absolutely, it’s interesting to note that Zhangjiajie, located in the northwestern part of Hunan Province, China, has a rich history dating back to the Stone Age. It was previously named Dayong and has a recorded history dating back to 221 BC. During the Shang and Zhou dynasties (1600 BC - 256 BC), it was under the Jingchu State’s jurisdiction. During the Spring & Autumn and the Warring States Periods (770 BC - 221 BC), it was under the Chu State’s jurisdiction. The Three Kingdoms period (220-280 AD) was a significant era in Chinese history, marked by the tripartite division of China among the states of Wei, Shu Han, and Wu. This period started when the Kingdom of Wei took power from the Han Dynasty and ended in 280 AD when the Kingdom of Wu was defeated by the rulers of the Jin, a new dynasty. So, the region was incorporated into central dynasty rules during the Three Kingdoms Era. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that this region is one(part) of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization.

Alina, I don't know how you ended up in my YT feed but I decided to watch you anyway. As one who lived in China for 15 years and LOVED every minute of it , train prices are cheap, especially as compared to the UK!! Do you think you can go from London to Edinburgh for $70 (GBP 56) by train - somehow I doubt it. Your "over priced" train ticket is due to the app you are using, who undoubtedly have taken a huge chunk of that $70 train ticket!! Hope you have a great time in China while you are there.

I traveled to zhangjiajie before COVID. The scenery is stunning.
Same i love it so much , i prefer place like this over busy city
Yellow mountain and Yangshu is also very senic place.
I came back to Canada from a fantastic trip to China. Zhangjiajie was the highlight of my trip. It was a magical place.
I was at the same Guangzhou South Station on 4/1/24 for a high speed train trip to Shenzhen. Now I am back home in San Diego, CA planning for my next trip to Zhangjiajie in the Fall! Thank you so much for the heads up!
China railway and road system are itself a wonder of the world. I was in Zhangjiajie 2 months ago when it snowed. It's incredible. Make sure you also see Tianmen mountain, it's surreal! Best to enter Tianmen Shan and Avatar mountains at door opening hours (7am or 8am) to avoid the big crowds. Even at 7-8am there were already many ppl queuing.
When I said "many ppl," I mean a couple of hundred ppl. Even though it was low season 2 months ago. Now, expect the numbers to be higher.

Really great tips throughout about how to avoid common mistakes! Love that.
Hair gel, sunscreen, and similar items are allowed, but they must not exceed 150ml each according to regulations. So if you need them, you'll have to transfer them into smaller bottles yourself.
It's not the liquids that is the issue, only aerosols.
HI from Florida. thanks
Btw just in case you don’t know, you can order food delivery directly to your seat while taking the high speed train. You can actually order Burger King McDonald bubble tea etc and they will deliver it to your seat. It’s quite convenient but few foreigners know it
The roads are so wide and spacious
The name of that inn means 'butterfly fall in love with flowers'.😁 It's the name of a 'Chinese classic tune'. You can simply regard it as 'a name of Chinese classic poem'. Enjoy your journey !
China is really safe! I've been to Shanghai and Yiwu a month ago and people are so helpful even though the language barrier, you just have to use Google translate and all will be good. Most Chinese people are going to help you!
Hi. Alina thanks good to see you. Scenics place and enjoyable trip. Happy to see your video. Take care . Watched here at montreal
Thank you so much 😊
China’s high speed rail has incorporated many advanced technologies from Bombardier of Quebec
The food at the train station is particularly expensive. I think the meal you ordered was priced at twice the normal rate. Moreover, these foods often taste not that good.
Wish you a happy visit. Watched many videos of this stunning mountain, the scenery is out of this world, it’s on my bucket list to go.
I’m really exited for the next video Zhangjiajie is definitely beautiful!
Your videos makes me want to go to mainland China Alina. Great video once again!
Thank you so much for your video. This is really helpful when I travel to China coming this Fall.
You will love Zhangjajie. You need to ask the waitor or shop keeper whether the food is spicy. In China, people are mostly friendly.
Better late than never. I tried convincing you on another account to visit and explore China back in 2020, the same time Alex from Reporterfy Media & Travel also tried to get you to visit China. Would love to see you and Alex do a collaboration in Chongqing someday, another must visit city. Hope you're having a great time in China and thanks for sharing your videos Alina.

Very good train, very nice station.
I was just there last year and also rode on that train from Guangzhou South Station. Hope you enjoy Zhangjiaje as much as I did.
The inn you lived in is called butterfly in love with flower, a song dynasty poetic form.
Alina is not only pretty but also funny too. Great vacation in China and great video.
I am so happy that you get to experience China! It's on my bucket list of countries to see too. Continue to have an awesome time and thank you for sharing the journey. You look gorgeous as always. ❤❤❤💋

I am glad you took the express train.
My friends took the normal train (not the express) from Shanghai to Nanjing.. holy jeez.. it took 4 - 5 hours as the train went in circles - stopping at every major/small towns.
We couldnt take the express train back then because the last express train left.
Yeah I would not want to take the slow train on that kind of journey. Tickets sell out super fast, was lucky to get mine as soon as they came out.
Alina, thanks for this video. Love from Germany.
Respect! ❤for how brave you are. Can't wait for the rest of the series.
Yep the mountains. Actually Guilin has mountain scenery of different kind. Wish you a great trip. While you are travelling by train, if you have time go to Xinjiang . Fantastic trip.
you can order food in the train any kind the food like McDonal's, KFC, Chinese food. When the train stop at the next stion. A train staff bring your order to your seat.
Thank you for your honest reporting. enjoy your trip.
We will visit China very soon too.

Lovely episode Alina! Was eagerly waiting for your vlog. The recently opened Guangzhou Bayun railway station is even more jaw dropping! It's absolutely crazy!
Can't wait to see you explore the Avatar mountains!! Such a lovely music collection! Love from India.
More westerners should travel to India and China. And more ppl from China and India should travel to each other's country. If many do so, good things will follow.

Interesting video. I find the progress this country has made truly unbelievable.
Just returned from Shanghai from a 10 day trip along Quanzhou, WuyiShan, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. I love the railway system, extremely reliable and convenient!

They are not different terminals, but different stations within a city and can be pretty far from each others. The food is quite expensive in the train station. But like airports, you are paying for the convenience and location.
