Welcome to my hometown Chongqing, Alina. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay! just so you know, all the highrise buildings you saw were build after 1990s
Chongqing was the war-time capital of China during the War of Resistance. The peace and prosperity we have today would not be possible without the sacrifices of those who fought for the nation.
As such there are historical sites related to the war as well, but I suppose that's probably more geared toward domestic tourists LOL. It would have been hilariously awkward if the iChongqing guide took Alina to go tour some place like Zhazidong: So here is where the CIA worked with the previous KMT regime on 110 novel methods to torture communist political dissidents!
@@tren133 It is all part of the city’s history. I am sure Alina can’t avoid mentioning the Great Patriotic War if she were visiting Stalingrad ( or whatever it is called now).

I lived in China for 13 years, mostly in Shenzhen, and it was great. Went to Chongqing about 10 years ago for work; was there for 5 days and I was impressed. It was generally clean, I felt safe and the food was great. The river going through the city was nice too. I was told by one of my co-workers that Chongqing was known for its beautiful women, he said ‘the most beautiful in China’. I’ve always wanted to go back to Chongqing as a tourist, and watching you video has made me want to do so even more. Great video, thanks!
In 2023 I took my American family and grand kids to visited the wonderful city of Chongqing which is more than I expected and everybody have good time.!!!😀🥰😀😀😍😍😍🤩🤩😘😘
Chongqing is a beautiful and majestic city. No matter where Westerners stand, China has made rapid progress. The intelligent and hard-working Chinese people yearn for a better life and deserve the respect of countries around the world, instead of resorting to unscrupulous sanctions, suppression, and mudslinging.
American here ... China is absolutely worthy of respect for the progress it has made and for its desire to lead the world into a better future. Anything the West accuses China of doing is something the West itself is guilty of many times over. The West has dominated the world for 600 years and it's mostly been an age of horror. It's time for something better. So my Chinese friend, don't be too concerned with the criticism you hear from Washington, London, or Brussels. Many of us Westerners have opened our eyes. Long live China.

Chongqing is my favourite city concentrating food and sceneries on top of each other repeatedly in a 3 dimensional manner. I was there last year, but I will be back soon. Liberation of parts of China from Japanese occupation in 1945 although Chongqing herself was never occupied by Japan.
To correct one of your mistakes, Chongqing, as the temporary capital of the Sino-Japanese War, was never occupied by the Japanese, but was brutally bombed numerous times, killing over 40,000 people.
I am one of those people you mentioned at the start of the video, whom had never heard of Chongqing prior to your attendance to this city. It was another city that somehow manages to give the ancient and historical room to coexist with the ultra modern. This tour was pretty impressive. My only comment is there was no way you and your guide were able to polish off that meal. That looked to be a weeks worth of food, not dinner for two. China by way of Alina, just continues to impress.
Hot pot food tends to disappear quickly when you are hungry. I used to live in NYC and when I and friends would eat at hot pots in Chinatown, we were so full we waddled out of the restaurant lol.
I absolutely fell in love with Hot Pot in China. Im kind of surprised it hasnt caught on in the West. I did find s great Hot Pot place in the Asian District in Boston that was very good. Had it 3 times in Sichuan. Once while watching a Chinese Opera. Simply amazing.
You can find it in Toronto and Vancouver easily, but yeah a lot of westerners have absolutely no idea (including myself before I started travelling Asia) how it works 😅

Ah finally! Finally, the episode I have been waiting for so so much!! Ever since you mentioned in a comment that you are already in Chongqing and meeting Alex in the afternoon, I just couldn't wait for the episode to come out! Really can't express how eager I was so see you exploring Chongqing! I have lived in China for 2 years and have been to the city. But I visited the city during summer and did not enjoy much because it's incredibly hot during the day. However, it's the night view of the city that blew me off to the river. It's literally a cyberpunk city and it was overwhelming for me. Everything was so lit up, entire skyscrapers looking like a video screen! I couldn't stop looking everywhere! I was in such awe!!! Cant wait for the next episode!!! And once again, the music simply pumps up the mood and you look so gorgeous in that traditional dress! Love from India.
One point about the warm water culture, it is to protect the core temperature from cold shock. The upper digestive track is in close proximity with endocrine system organs. Type 2 diabetics can be benefit from a stable core temperature.
Warm water helps your spleen warm up the food easier and digestion can be easier for the body. Spleen separates the liquids to go to the top or bottom of the body.

Chongqing is the biggest city by metropolitan area in the world. I think it was praised from Sichuan province in the late 1990s. There's a cargo train from Chongqing to Duisburg in Germany everyday.
I kinda wondered if you might link up with Alex. Voila! The good man point you to some helpful folks to make sure your day was packed full of sights and insights. Go girl!
A couple of years ago, part of the research I was doing for a book project, I was watching The Story of China with Michael Wood. Something that caught my eye without looking for it, I noticed how most people in the background, in the streets, that were incidentally appearing on camera, hundreds of them, were smiling. I told someone, things cannot be as bad as we are told they are in China when people display such a natural radiant energy. In New York, you can sense how the stress weights heavily on most everyone shoulders. Nobody smiles either.
I too was flabbergasted at the size of the megacity when I visited in 2018. I too never heard of this city on the Yangtse river. Visit the panda zoo and the try the hotpot - maybe too spicy for you!
Thanks for posting! Glad to see my mother's home city getting more international exposure. Refreshing to see things from a first-time visitor's perspective.

Two years ago I had never heard of it either. I met some people from there and now I have been there. It’s an amazing city. Phenomenal.
Hi. Alina. Nice hotel and great trip also. We enjoyed watched your vlogs. Take care and thanks
Thanks so much! 😊
One point about the warm water culture, it is to protect the core temperature from cold shock. The upper digestive track is in close proximity with endocrine system organs. Type 2 diabetics can be benefit from a stable core temperature.
Very informative. Thank you.
I recommend all you guys to come to Changjiahui Shopping Park in the evening. The night view here is very, very beautiful
I would love to visit china one day😮
Warm water helps your spleen warm up the food easier and digestion can be easier for the body. Spleen separates the liquids to go to the top or bottom of the body.
Ancient Chinese people worship ancestors,heros, animals,skies and nature,nice ❤
the concept of 'worship' in Chinese tradition is not the same as worship in Abrahamic religion, it's more to respect and unity between all beings in universe

Well said.
Is that why the CCP renounced Chinese culture under Mao?
I love waking up to a new video of yours. Best way to start or end my days 😊.
Greetings from Toronto!
Thanks for your wonderful videos! Looking forward to seeing my homeland for the first time in over 40 years! (Soon)
Chongqing is one big megacity next to Shanghai and Beijing. Been to Chongqing a couple of times and it never fail to impress and surprise.
Enjoy your stay in Chongqing Alina. It cant get any better with the support of Chongqing Tourism Board and a guide to show you around.
Alina, it was one of the most interesting videos ... Thank you.
The city is a gem and definitely worth to visit .
I think on order to attract more tourism, they will need to have more English signs ....
Otherwise wonderful city
The mixture of ancient and modern in Chongquin is amazing.
In China I went to Hangzhou, Tianjin and Nanjing. I love these three cities.
Hi Alina, so glad that you had a wonderful time in this beautiful city, immersing yourself into the culture, the food and the crazy but amazing city. Looking forward to your next.
It's amazing that you reported so much great content unseen on mainstream media in North America. You really build the bridge for peoples in the world. Thanks for doing a better job than our government officials!😀
I like your voice and speed. You speak very clearly and are pleasant to listen to for an English learner like me. Of course, you are beautiful, which is also one of the reasons why it is worth seeing. I am from Chongqing and now live in New York.
I’m very glad!
Excellent tour of this beautiful city ! I have been to China few times , but never have the opportunity to visit Chung Qing . Hope to visit soon 👍😀❤️
The tourist guide was an angel
Wow that's just simply amazing n beautiful ❤
It is a good idea to have some local tour guide for your first trip to China. It is much more efficient if you have tight schedule.

Chongqing is the biggest city by metropolitan area in the world. I think it was praised from Sichuan province in the late 1990s. There's a cargo train from Chongqing to Duisburg in Germany everyday.
Chongqing is truly amazing
Just left Chongqing last week. Amazing cityscape and cyberpunk atmosphere.
I kinda wondered if you might link up with Alex.
Voila! The good man point you to some helpful folks to make sure your day was packed full of sights and insights. Go girl!
Absolutely
A couple of years ago, part of the research I was doing for a book project, I was watching The Story of China with Michael Wood. Something that caught my eye without looking for it, I noticed how most people in the background, in the streets, that were incidentally appearing on camera, hundreds of them, were smiling. I told someone, things cannot be as bad as we are told they are in China when people display such a natural radiant energy. In New York, you can sense how the stress weights heavily on most everyone shoulders. Nobody smiles either.
中国不只有城市,还有自然风景,建议去看看自然风景
China not only has cities, but also natural scenery. It is recommended to go and see the natural scenery.
I would opt for the natural beauty off China 🇨🇳 not the big cities, they would drive me nuts, as too busy, too many people 😊..
Another great video of Chinese city, the amazing one! ❤❤❤
Chong qing.. Before many mountain.. Now became a futurustic city and electric city.. Wonderfull
Incredible, totally enjoyed....thanks, much.....
I too was flabbergasted at the size of the megacity when I visited in 2018. I too never heard of this city on the Yangtse river. Visit the panda zoo and the try the hotpot - maybe too spicy for you!
Another amazing City. Loving your China series. 👍😊🇮🇪🇨🇳
Thanks for posting! Glad to see my mother's home city getting more international exposure. Refreshing to see things from a first-time visitor's perspective.
In fact, this city was a temporary capital city of China during the WII for about 10years when Japan army occupied the Chinese capital city of Nanjing.
Few months ago i came across a video made by you about Toronto Canada and did not make connection until now that i am watching you in China! I wish you could go my hometown Qingdao in Shandong province where you could get some flavour of a northern chinese city. Lookng forward to your video with Alex Reportefy media another my favourable Vlogger., Wishing you all the best in China.
Love all your videos of China, really well put together and lots of details about the culture and characters of the country 👍😀
Good job Alina 🎉🎉🎉
Sesame oil is too greasy for outsiders. I recommend peanut butter with half sesame sauce, garlic and a little seafood sauce, with a non-spicy hot pot. beef and mutton.❤❤祝你玩得开心~
Amazing place

Hello! Your dress looks great!
Alina Thank you so much for presenting such wonderful program about China which I know very little of. You beautifully introduced Chongqing to all the people who have never been to China, even for a Chinese myself! ❤❤.
China definitely has changed! 👍👍👏👏🇨🇳. Great job China 👍
My pleasure!
Is that why you don't want to live in China 🇨🇳?
@@AhmetTekin101 me? I have two homes. Most of the time I stay in HongKong and California. I visit China a few times, but not extensively. I would love to reside in the wonderful city of Shenzhen where I had visited a few times.
@@kko-punch7059 Is that why you don't want to live in China 🇨🇳?
@@AhmetTekin101 it’s not why I don’t want to live in China, Europe Africa Australia S.America… I have only one body. I can’t split my body up to live in all these places at one time, even if I want to! How do you want me to answer your question??? Haha
You should definitely go visit Shanghai and Beijing. Two megacitys in China. The trip will be a whole different experience.
建议去帆船酒店的最高层,不贵,而且可以观看整个重庆❤️
wow this is my City
Many older Canadians should know Sichuan because this used to be the largest foreign mission supported by the Anglican Church in Canada. One of the legacies is the Sichuan Medical School.
