So cool to see the girl singing the cranberries song (I’m from Ireland where Dolores the singer is from of the original song )! This city looks amazing love seeing what china has to offer
This is related to a movie, "Chungking Express" 重庆森林directed by Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai in 1994. Of course, the "Chongqing" here is not the city of Chongqing, but "Chongqing Mansions" 重庆大厦in Hong Kong. The overall story uses Chungking Mansions in Hong Kong as a metaphor to refer to the concrete forest in the city, and tells the lonely inner world of people living in the dense modern metropolis of Hong Kong. The theme song of the film, starring Faye Wong, sang the original song "梦中人”(ps:“梦”in Chinese means dream)by the Cranberries. Many people learned about the Cranberries through this, which is why the song "Dream" is so famous in China.

Hey Sneha. Saw your other comments on other videos(tapping the profile allows us to see the 3 recent comments of the person on the same channel). It fascinates me everytime i see your tweet bcz our video interests are so similar and every time i see a particular video and i go ahead to comment my views i find your comment saying what i was about to say. and this is for the 6th or 7th time happening with me. And everytime its you. I remember this username very vividly. I saw your comment on other video too titled “what differentiates humans from Animals”. Seems like we’re doing things similarly & thinking on same lines in a parallel, all while living in different places. I’ve been seeing your comments for around a year and i remember your username very vividly. Your comments fascinates me bcz its not that i see you in short intervals instead i saw your comments maybe more than 6 months ago i noticed it, tapped on your profile and saw your other recent comments and here again today after six months i’m interacting with you. Earlier, it used to happen in a fortnight or a month. This time the interval was 6 months long. But just bcz i somehow noticed your account and it stuck in my subconscious memory, here again i’m interacting with you all while doing and thinking similarly but living parallel lives in different places. 6 months ago when i saw your comment, i wanted to tell you about how your comments are stuck in my head but then i thought it maybe cheesy. But it happened again this time after 6 months. So i thought I’ll tell you this time about his weird phenomenon. Its really thoughtful & interesting that how two individuals living in different small towns of India have so much common designs in their life and thoughts in general and yet living parallel lives without knowing about other’s existence. I feel like we both are living one life in parallel. I don’t know if i’m able to tell you exactly what i feel. But it’s fascinating😅 that You do not know that you have become part of my life. There were parents taking their kids on their first holiday and CQ was a pain to navigate. Hiking up and down 10 stories of stairs just to get to different sightseeing spots was not fun! 😅 My clothes were drenched all the time either by rain or sweat.

Chongqing is a great city, I lived there for over a year, great people in China, just like the delivery driver kid, I hope more people go there to see it firsthand. peace.
Chongqing used to belong to Sichuan Province, but due to explosive population growth, it became independent and became a direct controlled municipality like Beijing and Shanghai. In fact, Chongqing has a very large area, close to half a province, so this area is defined as a city, making it a huge super city.
I lived in CQ for a year, before Raffles city was built. It’s changed so much in the last decade but it’s still one of the best cities in China along with Chengdu of course. I fall in love with the place every time I return (last time was 3 weeks ago).

It’s weird to watch the German DW channel talk about China in a straight way, no mention of “human rights, blabla…”. Something in the management of DW must have changed.
It is totally strange to see a Western media make a documentary about China without politicizing it, since China is not a politicized country, but a civilized one.
People who can speak out online are actually not many; in fact, most people don't care about politics, they just want to live a good life. People who only care about their own lives and don't care about politics can do so precisely because they live in a peaceful and stable environment.
@@diemannschaftweltmeister8197 I repeat: China is not a politicized country, ergo it does not mean not talking about politics, since every year the Chinese have to go and vote for a delegate to represent the region/province as well as proposing improvements for the community in the town/city where they reside. This is done in a community way, in specific meetings and places, not in your daily life on the streets. Something that is known as "CIVILIZATION"
You say that as if Chinese media always portray the west fairly and positively... the hypocrisy of "morally superior easterner" comments is astounding as usual, and even validifies the view that you yourself are brainwashed by your objectively corrupt and authoritarian government. This comment section feels much more robotic than human, I'll just say that.
As someone that has travelled through three dozen countries around the world, I can comfortably say that China was the safest and most misunderstood country in the world. From city to countryside, its safe, people are friendly, hotels clean, no litter and no one is trying to scam you everywhere you go. China is so much more than Beijing and Shanghai too. Go to Xi'an (Terracotta warriors), Guiyang (home of Moutai and gorgeous views) and Nanjing (Memorial Hall).
This is the only time DW did not use a gray filter when photographing China, and the only time he did not mention "human rights" or "freedom". I don't understand. Chinese people have their own culture and life. As a country thousands of kilometers away from China, why should you impose your understanding of human rights and freedom on the Chinese? China and Germany are completely different countries, and they do not pose a threat to each other. So, can't we show a little respect and understanding to each other?
German people are very welcomed in China, most of them are honest and hard working technicians and middle managers, focus on problem solving and responsible for work. Wish more young German people to study and work in China.
Once again DW with an outstanding documentary. The storyline, the editing and everything is on point. You can see how much work goes into this. What a masterpiece. I can’t even see a DW documentary and skip anymore. Kudos to the whole team!

Chongqing looks amazing! But there’s def some weird information in this there are less than 6 million people in Singapore and the Empire State Building is actually taller than Raffles tower lol 😂
The locals took into account the altitude because Chongqing is a mountain city. The Raffles Tower itself is 354 meters, and the height above sea level at that tower is around 200 meters. So, if you go to the top floor of the Raffles Tower, you are 550 meters above the rivers. The Empire State Building is 454 meters tall. So the locals are not wrong about it. However, you are also correct; the building itself is indeed 100 meters shorter than the Empire State Building.

I once drove from Nanjing to Chongqing in China, a journey of over 1,400 kilometers. When I was driving near Chongqing, I passed through continuous mountains and tunnels, which helped me understand the origin of Chongqing's nickname, 'Mountain City.' Upon entering the city, I increasingly felt that Chongqing is an interesting and magical 3D city. Driving around Chongqing feels like being in an amusement park. The navigation often gave inaccurate directions, leading me to take wrong turns and drive around in circles, up and down, hahaha. The food in Chongqing is great, and the girls are as fiery as the hot pot. It's a fun and delicious city, and I will definitely visit again!
Chongqing is like a perfect example of a technologically advance and modern society you'd expect to see in a sci-fi movie. It's like Singapore or New York on steroids. Absolutely amazing.
Chongqing was the wartime capital of China during the Anti-Japanese Invasion War and World War II. Chongqing was bombed day and night by Japan's advanced air force, but never gave up fighting back. In a sense, what is happening in Chongqing, and to a larger extent in China, is a continuation of China's five thousand years of war against foreign aggression. China must develop its economy and military, and make itself strong enough quickly before the next foreign invasion, so its enemy will think twice before attacking.

Cuz when gas-car sell no more, and USD became paper, German turn to a 2nd tier nation, they could beg China.
You can't have "just and peaceful" without being well informed of the political scene and voting responsibly!
