It is no wonder why more and more Chinese long trip travelers are choosing high speed rail as their first choice all because of cheaper price, on time departure and arrival, and larger personal space available on board of rail cart than in the tin can airplane.

@@caozijian6 高鐵我以前常搭但還未有機會搭過睡舖的高鐵班次過，其實非常的方便及又省錢。晚上從南部搭往北部長途旅行，就不需要到站後又要找旅館花錢過夜。出差一路睡到終點站下車就早上可以去辦公了多麼方便呢！現在我擔心的事是因為高鐵普及之下越來越多長途旅客會搭乘，相反之下航空班機以後就會逐漸減少班次，班次減少之後航空公司取消航線也就是説會有人航空界的工作人員會因此失去工作，最壞的是還會影響到國內航空業製造服務業的發展。所以國內航空業必須要挺著住高鐵那以後帶來的衝擊！國家不能沒有航空發展，咱們如果航空業和發展前途走下坡，這樣也會帶來許多國家安全顧慮的。我國必須擁有一定航空人材才可以，畢竟航空可說是軍民兩用非常重要的交通工具

Rail operations are complex within Europe owing to the infrastructure. Also in Europe the high-speed lines are closed overnight for track maintenance.

And what other routes do such trains run on?
Hope the toilets are nicer than those on the old overnight trains. Ours ran out of water for flushing so the toilets became unspeakably awful overnight & the cleaning staff put the dirty mops under the bottom bunks next to the toilets even though people were sleeping on them! Our 6 friends in one room all got sick.

The fare is slightly more expensive than flight, however this suits businessman who needs to visit customer in another city (2-3 hours flight distance, 1500-2500 KMS) in early morning. Train stations normally is closer to city center compares to airports. Take a night sleeper train then arrive at 7AM in city center, a new day starts. Otherwise, wake up at 4-5 AM then spend 4-5 hours on airport transportation, checking, flight.

还真是D903啊，去年去北京玩回香港也是睡这趟车的全程，那是第一次坐动卧列车，当时正直复活节假期结束，一车都是香港人

Great trip. Years ago, I've watched High Speed Sleeper Train in China on another channel, but as far as i remember, it isn't like this, since the trainset variant was different. Before I realised you are on diet, I actually want to ask: are you sure is it enough to fullfil your stomach only with McDonald's? And not rice? Bit surprising me to see lower capsule is more expensive than upper one. If High Speed Sleeper Train taking 12 hours running between two Cities, can't imagine about the conventional train running on same route.
Basically, sleeper train in china are mainly those that you sleep vertically to the direction of train and this you have seen in the video is the rarest sleeper train in china. And, in fact there is no need to care about any hunger as one, you could actually purchase cheap set meal on the cafeteria car, or two buy take out in any stations your train pass by. However the necessity of eating more is not appear because for most of ppl they do sleep directly after get onboard

I don't know what you mean by a high-speed train, but for a long time there has been a sleeper train St. Petersburg-Samara, as well as Moscow-Berlin until 2020. This train is called "strizh" and reaches speeds of up to 200 km/h

In that case Austria’s night-jet is also there! And talgo set from Mardid to Lisbon is also there. But all are hauled by separate locomotive!

Similar to Europe, it costs slightly more than flight but it is a practical option/competitor as it saves the time of boarding procedures of travelling by air

Return air ticket will mostly be cheaper compared to that of high speed rail, sometimes single-ride air ticket is cheaper as well. The problem is the civil airspace in China is controlled by the military, delays are frequent due to sudden drill command.
Indian train can take much more people in one train, Indian train is definitely more advanced in terms of capacity

i just checked, 12 hours. now the price for a soft sleeper from RMB$970 to $1090. depending on the date, i guess. he paid $990.
