  • May 18, 1980. What started out as a quiet day for this Coronet, turned into the last time she would be ran. Mt. St. Helen would erupt this day, taking 57 people, 200 homes, 47 bridges, 15 miles of railways, and 185 miles of roads with her. Follow along as ‎@stephenhotzjustdriveit ‎@heavensmopars and I attempt to get it running again!!!

This sure was a fun trip when you guys came over! 😃
I appreciate all your help and knowledge so much! The cool thing is, that you both left with a car! 👍😎
I’m glad this thing fired up after its hibernation! Now to work the bugs out of it!
I’m glad that you got the one out of the carburetor! 😂😳

Awesome to see another resurrected MOPAR. MOPAR was the only product my dad drove. My first behind the wheel of my dads 66 Polara. Without his permission/knowledge I drove his station wagon.
I was pulled over by a police officer. He was nice enough to follow me home with the blaring mars lights.

This was pretty cool that you got it breathing fire again after it was caught up in an epic event in history that tried to take it down. Cheers to the group!

I crossed over the toutle river about a 1/2 hr before the bridge was closed because of all of the logs flooting down the river after mt st helens erupted.

I used a matchbook cover to set points back in the day. I don't know if you can even find a matchbook nowadays. Cool revival! Fell over sideways Dodge (Slant Six). One of the toughest engines ever built!

What's the story with the car? Where was it when the volcano erupted, and how come no one saved until now? (Also, a few shots of it and some details about its past would be well appreciated).

Scott @heavensmopars owns the car. I'll see what footage I have too.

Uncle Tony told us a dry engine needs a lot of fuel to get going again.

@mexicanspec we sprayed the cylinders with pb blaster, but if I'm starting any engine that sat, I dilute the fuel with two stroke oil for it's first start. But, not gallons of it...
