Have had my Pint for 2 months now love every second of it. Was hesitant at first because of the price tag but I would say to anyone considering buying it very well worth it. I was kinda a home body before but not anymore this thing forces you to go out and explore.
A lot of people talk about the price tag but fail to realize that most people have a cellphone that costs as much or more than a Pint. They fail to realize that the joy one gets from riding a onewheel is priceless! Float on!
@@jeffcompton6804 cellphones is pretty necessary in these times but a skateboard with a tire in the middle you don’t know if ur gonna use it all the time
@@ddoggyvii468 considering that I see them regularly for 500 bucks(used), many if not most people have spent that much on entertainment. A 500 dollar television is nothing today. Entertainment systems cost more. Vacations are expensive even if it's just a simple road trip. Buying a decent bicycle would cost more. One day at a ski resort costs anywhere from 150-200+ dollars a day (plus gear needed). It all comes down to the question of what does the individual want to do to entertain themselves. For a 500-600 dollar price point a Pint an excellent option (in my humble opinion of course).
I recently got my pint. I don’t have any prior board experience so it’s taking some extra practice to get used to, but I’m enjoying every minute of it.
in my opinion, when people think simplestop is weird or feels like it's throwing you off, it's because they're going backwards with their entire body. When I do simplestop, I maintain the upper body centered, while the one going backwards is just my hips
Yes, like I said with the text, I know I’m still learning it and I realize that it’s tricky to get used to because you simply have to stay flat and just put your foot down which is weird.
Just had the pint over a couple of weeks now and completely agree on all of what you said! The portability for my tastes are why I went with the pint. I fly my own plane and I literally stick the pint in my baggage compartment and take it to my destinations to get around close by areas to the airports I fly into. Great video!!!
I thought simple stop seemed dumb at first but after getting used to it I can’t imagine not having it. I’ve had mine for about 6 months or so roughly 100 miles on the odo. It’s the funnest dumbest thing I’ve ever bought and Id do it again in a heartbeat👍👍
Simplestop works great, you just stop, go back a tiny bit, but keep your weight centered. I usually turn it off though for whatever stupid reason (not having it on got me to into hospital recently). Hopping off is a good way to get off though, and you should practice hopping off whenever you lose balance before you do the awkward onewheel splits, I've been there. Since the "regular" way of getting off with the heel-lift is tricky and somewhat unreliable, currently my favourite way to get off is to do that thing where you basically smash the back foot down and just before you stop quickly lift off the front foot and have it touch the ground, while keeping the weight mostly on the foot on the board so it doesn't go backwards.
Gotta say this is a pretty accurate rep of the learning curve and buying new gear curve. I'm a 3 year XR rider. Was a bit wary seeing a disappointing insta360 one x2 video of yours but props and criticisms where due. This one, excellent info and production quality. Nice!
Why is everyone having problems with simple stop? Just slow down, rock back, tip back, step off. Jumping off will scratch your board and looks like a clumsy way of getting off your board.
Just gotta think of putting that thing in reverse terry when using simple stop, such a great feature. It'll delicately disable the board as you lean back. Learn the heel up stop method to transition you into not using simple stop so you can learn how to ride that thing backwards in switch stance, than you can wheel around like a graceful robot
Definitely something on my radar. I May need to drop a few pounds first, but hopefully within the year. I just made one big purchase, the FX3, this one may put me on the couch.
Bought one to get to work and back. Live about 4 miles away. And it is so nice. I was riding a bike before this and yeah it still hurts my legs and feet at the end of the day (because of work) it is still a lot easier than a bike. Had a bad wreck and I broke my arm, broke my head open and had 17 stitches in 2 layers. But that was my bad for not buying a helmet or pads 😂
Been wanting one of these for a while now! I already have an electric scooter for my commute but I like the size of these for bringing on and of a bus! Will have to buy a used one though as I can’t really afford the 950 at the moment! Awesome review! Also already hinted to my wife that I want one 👍
Think you could take this golfing with a golf bag? Ive always thought an escooter or this would make golf even more fun lol. But i dont knoow if habing golf clubs on your back would allow it to work
I just bought a one wheel pint to try to bring it to Brazil. It's been hard to know if the air planes company really will accept to travel with it, but I'm trying anyway. What happend with boosted board, still have it?
I'll be a month tomorrow 230miles on a pint. I got my #GreedyHungry shirt and color scheme going on. When I get that XR that's when I'll go all out with tha green n blk on it, very excited and can't wait. Showing love from #LASVEGAS #GreedyHungry 💯 👍🏾 🔥 ayyyyeeeee!
Be sure to wear a helmet. I had a bad nose dive a few weeks ago, and my helmet saved my life. I would caution anyone against riding these machines without proper safety equipment, no matter how good you think you are or confident, you feel.
If you buy a Pint you'll end up buying the XR. You think the 6 to 8 mile range sounds like more then enough range until you actually go out and really start riding. I started with the pint and now own two XRs. Range is everything and if you take a onewheel off pavement your range drastically goes down. That 6 to 8 is cut down to about 4 to 5 on grass or a trail. Oh and you are dead on about overconfidence that is when user error occurs and people get hurt. I was 50 miles in when I broke my wrist because 50 miles sounds like a lot and I thought I was comfortable but in reality you won't be really use to a onewheel til your over 1000 miles.
@@scottmckenna Hey Scott! After having both now, which would you recommend? I'm thinking of buying one very soon and would love to hear your perspective!
@@sm208 If you can afford the XR, I would say get the XR all day. It's more stable, more comfortable with the large footpads, and has a longer range. It's just better overall when actually riding it. The ONLY advantage the Pint has is the size for carrying and portability, but at the end of the day, you'll spend more time riding it than carrying it, so it makes more sense to have the XR. I'll do a video about it.
I'm thinking with battery mod I can get same distance as XR and cheaper.. I don't need the XRs top speed, I prefer the better carving. Also there's a Hoosier tyre you can swap to that's wider and flatter like the XR. Still cheaper with Battery and new tyre so start off at half price then when comfortable upgrade to those two and have best of both worlds... hopefully👍🏻
