Love your videos because you purchase things to decorate your house not resell stuff. While there is nothing wrong with reselling, I love to see how you use the items you thrift. Thanks for great content!
As soon as I seen the bedspread you thrifted I knew it was in my "Country Door" catalog. The regular price for the queen is $109.99. The shams are $24.99 a piece! Soooo...what a buy Julie, way to go!
I LOVEEEEE 🩷 that catalog!
I thought they might have been from country door also!
Awesome score!! I have the same bed spread from counrty door, I absolutely love mine.
I loved seeing little Brigham running across the comforter. It was so cute!
So do I.
Julie, if you can't get the stain out of the bed spread there is still a ton of great material there to make other things like pillow covers and table runners. Maybe even some dish towels. That's a lot of really good material. I think it was a great buy. Thanks for another fun video.
Was thinking that she could make pillows as well
So... I'm the stain removal queen... what does the stain appear to be in ur opinion?
You find the best things in your thrift stores! I would love to find items like the ones you find. The cookbook and tea towel are my favorite. I love when you cook recipes from old cookbooks too. Thank you, Julie, for sharing with us each week! Blessings to you and your family.
Love the tea cups stacked! I didn’t think of candies, I put plants in them!
I also have the same issue with my cat! I’m always having to sweep it away but the broom never it’s out the grout! Using the vacuum I’m sure would work 😊
My grandmother used to use vinegar and baking soda, which removed many a sweat stain from my grandfather! I loved how most of your stains came out with carpet stain remover and baking soda!
Baking soda removes a lot of stains, and is good to remove odours! I use it sometimes to remove tea stains from inside of my tea cup.
Loved the photo frame, so sweet!
I love watching your channel and all your inspiring ideas! Love seeing your sweet baby running across your comforter! I would love to be entered in your Mothers Day giveaway! So sweet for you to do that! Love that stinking cute basket and the vintage cookbook! Happy Mothers Day to you!🥰
Love the teacup candle! It is so sweet. Also I will be looking for a colander to put herbs in! You are so Creative!
Tea cups are getting hard to find in the wild.. I think Julie has everyone thrifting..
You might try original Dawn dish soap on the spots. Scrub if in the area that didn’t come out. Then wash again like you did before z. 🤞
I would like to be entered for the giveaway for Mothers Day. A very Happy Mothers day to you Julie, love your channel and your sweet accent ❤ ❤
Hello Julie. The comforter is pretty and I'm glad you were able to get the stain out. Brigham running across the comforter he is having so much fun. Love it! Our daughter bought a new vacuum like yours to clean the inside of our new Mazda CX-5 2023. She also cleans the conners of her bedroom. Good luck on winning Mother's Day Thrifted gifts. Thank you for the candle tutorial. My aunt gave me an expensive Apple Butter candle that is simply amazing the entire house smell delicious. I try finding it, but I can't find it. I will definitely make my own with my daughter. Fun Mami daughter project. She loves her infusers. This year my daughter is growing Basil and Strawberries. Today I made a Flan and my husband help open the cans of evaporated milk, Condense milk, 4 eggs and vanilla. He also helped stir the caramel after my arm got tire. Then I put it in a round aluminum tray and set it in a Mary bath to baked for 1 hour. It was delicious. Wishing you a lovely night. 🥰🌺
As of now 5-2-23 5pm cst, giveaway is closed. I have drew names and they will be announced with further instructions in the video published on 5-2-23. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Speaking of linen, you got me on the look out for the Percale sheets. I remember my mom always had them, and she was always looking for quality, so they must be good!
Also, i just found a star Colander and have it on a peg in my kitchen.
Enjoying this video!! Blessed day to you!
*I would like to be entered into the giveaway *
My Pillow has Percale sheets on a blowout sale. Bought 2 sets and love them.
@@carlajoye6594 oh thank you so much! And i LOVE MyPillow!!!
Hi Julie! Love your show! I love you do it for fun and pleasure instead of just PROFIT! I get sick of that. I love to thrift for my home, family, or friends like you do. I love the homey feel of your video's.
Love the comforter. I can hardly see a stain anymore. Great job! Great info.
Funny that you showed the teacup...My Granddaughter and I made a floating teacup for her Mama for Mothers day from a thrifted teacup and saucer. We bent a fork at the bottom where the teeth joins the handle, and glued that to the bottomof the saucer...bent the handle an inch or so, and glued it to the inside of the cup so it looks like it's floating. I used a little hot glue until the E6000 dried...It didn't take long. We covered the fork with moss, then glued silk flowers coming out of the cup down into the saucer. She is so proud and excited to give it to her Mama. She's already told her she made her something Beautiful for Mother's Day. It really is pretty, and of course her Mama...(my Julie)...will love it.
Once I stacked several teacups in all different directions, and glued them very tall with a ceramic tea pot, with a cute little ceramic mouse on to....for a centerpiece...for a Alice in Wonderland Birthday Party for my Granddaughter. She still has it, and treasures it. It turned out so pretty, and was perfect for the theme. I love old teacups, and love your ideas too.
I would also like to be entered for the drawing. Thanks Julie, as always.
Julie, thanks for all of the creative ideas using teacups and what a precious gift that would be for any Momma 💕I’m going to be on the lookout for some teacups now! I recently thrifted 3 aluminum STAR colanders 😁 I thought about trying to make a 3 tiered hanging plant holder but still figuring out how that would work 🤔 I love your videos especially because you are not a reseller! Some of those folks get carried away!!! Like you I thrift for my family and friends but mostly for the thrill of the hunt😂 Please enter me in the drawing, thanks!
Was at an estate sale today n saw some cute tea cups n said oooh Julie would love these, Hubby goes who's Julie lol.
Tea cups have so many uses! I have a weakness for them and bone china. I have a tree in my garden with tea cup feeders and old stainless steel tea pots filled with nesting material. Seeing the birds makes me so happy.
Love the tea cup ideas. Brigham is adorable running across the comforter. My cat Marshmallow is the messiest cat I have EVER seen with the litter!! I def need one of those! Thx for sharing. Take care 💜
*JULIE, DON'T USE VINEGAR - VINEGAR SETS STAINS IN! Use Fels Naptha Soap 🧼 - wet the fabric, rub the bar into the stain and scrub with a plastic bristle brush until sudsy and the stains are gone. Fels Naptha soap also removes grass stains and red clay/dirt stains‼️😉👍🏼*
I love thrifting too it’s so exciting to find things to make our homes cozy.
I agree with the Dawn dish soap too , it’s worked miracles for me. Please enter me in your Mother’s Day giveaway too❤️
I loved all your mother's day gift ideas that you make yourself. The yes cups were adorable.
I love watching your shopping ventures!!! I also love how you style your new thrift signs. It also gives me ideas I love that and now I’ve been going thrift in a lot. Thanks for all your encouragement.
Hobby lobby has granny's spot remover back where you get material cut. They usually have it sitting out in a galvanized bucket. It really works.
I love the tea cup tier ideas.
I so into the farmhouse decor and me watching your videos be giving good ideas how to decor
Love the candles and planting herbs is a great idea ❤
I’m so glad the stains came out of your bedding, what a great find!
I have a colander like that that I just have hanging with three others but during Christmas I put holly greenery and lights in it and it shines through the stars and is so pretty. Probably could do something for the fourth with it too!
I love the way this antique place or thrift store had Lilburn been sorted out that way that is a good idea
I've had great success with the spray and wash gel that has the little scrubby thing on the top. Another one I've had good luck with is oxy bright powder...made into a paste and letting it sit for a good while. Awesome finds!
If they still made Whisk( or was it Wish) liquid detergent, I would suggest that. Haven't seen it in years outside of Amazon at a ridiculous high price.
I enjoy watching your videos. I love thrifting been doing it for lots of years. Your decor is very much like mine. Love your style!
Thank you so much for all those amazing ideas, will be making some of them
I always use carpet spot cleaner on a lot of clothing for spots especially my husband's dress shirts with stained collars
I love the comforter/bedspread set!
If it’s that noticeable, you can use Dawn dish detergent snd lightly scrub in that spot. The soak in bathtub overnight in Oxiclean.
You can always tea stain the whole set snd that would be cute!
I have rubbed Fels Naptha Laundry Bar & Stain Remover on an old set in stain and it worked like a charm. I highly recommend.
Aw I loved the bedspraid, so pretty
Love the gift ideas X
Have a blessed weekend XXX
I really like how you did the plants in the colander that was really nice and then the tea cup candle. That was really nice of you to show us how make a candle in a teacup😊 and I would like to be put in the drawing 💐
I only liked the brass frame from this trip but it happens like that sometimes. I'm going thrifting today for the first time in years and I'll make sure to think about things in the buggy!
Hi Julie, thank you for all the inspiration I get from you, to decorate our home using thrifted items!
I have that very same comforter set in my master bedroom and love it.
I always us blue dawn dish soap for all of my stains, works great. For really bad ones I pour it on straight & leave it over night then wash it.
Love the comforter. It looks so much better.
Love all your ideas! You really are good at how to put decorating ideas in your home. So nice!👍👍🙋♀️
Thank you so much for sharing those sweet Mother's Day gifts. I no longer have Mothers in my life, but I do have a daughter-in-law.😊 I'll have to try one (bird feeder) for her.
Thank you for the gift ideas , the pin cushion is my favorite. The giveaway items are wonderful , such a generous thing to do ! Much love ❤️😇
Julie, you & your thrifting ways are near & dear to my heart!!! I’ve been doing this for decades & love the fellowship, knowing we both save money, but still have fun & nicely decorated homes with fun personal accents!! Hope I’m not too late to enter your drawing!!!!
Thank you for sharing your ideas! I will be looking for teacups at the thrift store tomorrow so I can make some mother’s day gifts.
You are just so sweet to think of others.God bless you and your family ❤️❤️
This was one of my favorite videos! Loved all the homemade gift ideas .
I had that same bedspread. I loved it. I think she told me it came from pottery barn originally maybe 10-15 yrs ago... I bought it at garage sale.
Great ideas for Mother’s Day gifts. Thanks for sharing.
I use peroxide & dawn dish soap i spray w/peroxide first then soak stain good with both let it set a bit then warsh, ive used this on old deep stains after repeated washes it has come out...hope this helps!
I find Oxyclean spray works great for stains I have used it on things that were washed and it works great! It’s the only thing I use for any kind of stains
Your ideas and styling are always so creative! I love your channel so much! 💗
Julie try a Borateam soak for stains also. It's a white
powder that won't hurt the
fabric! Thanks for sharing
with your fans.
I put carpet cleaner on my clothes sometimes. It really works better than anything made for clothing.
Enjoy watching your shopping and how you always know how to use in such a creative way the items you buy. I also admire how you take something most people would avoid--like the stained bedspread--and make it work for you. The negotiation for it was a plus! I'd love to be part of your giveaway. Thanks for the ideas and the entertainment.
Oh ty for all the DIYs…I have seen the bird feeder..but I totally enjoyed this VLOG 👍👍👍🌱
Hi Julie such great videos, that bed spread is beautiful wow 4 bucks an amazing deal ! Such great ideas for mothers day have a very Blessed day 😊
I would love to be included in the Mother's Day give away! I have been watching your past videos and are really enjoying them. I recently turned 60 and you have reignited my passion for thrifting! Thank you and God Bless!🎉
I use vanish but my absolute go to is Grumme Grön Såpa. Its based on tallölja/ pine oil. Its all natural. I use ut to clean oven to stsin removal. I have got ballpoint ink on bedspread. It took me washing it a few times but it removed all of it.❤ I live in Sweden.
😊😊😊😊i love all these ideas thanks for sharing with us I love seeing other thrifters who love thrusting like I do ❤❤😊
For the stain on the comforter if you are still trying to get the stain out I suggest scrubbing the spot with some Fels Naptha bar soap...it takes stains out of everything...I used it on baby clothes when my kids were young...it even gets out spit up stains and ground in dirt stsins on socks
Very cute pincushion in a lovely teacup! You could also put a collection of fancy hatpins in there!
You are such a kind thoughtful person. Love your video!
Here is the soak formula I use. It's wonderful on heavy soils and vintage fabrics that have yellowed in time.
1/2 C. Cascade dishwashing powder
1/2 C. Oxi-Clean
1/2 C. Laundry soap
Agitate long enough to be sure everything in the load is well saturated. Then stop the machine and allow to soak overnight. The following day, I let the load finish, check for stains and then rewash the load in the regular way. If you still have some stains repeat the process.
I'd like to be entered in the drawing. Thank you!
We love watching your videos together as a family. Thanks for the great content.
If you don't want to use the candle, you can turn it into a Washi Tape holder. Just wind the washi tape around it for storage.
Hi I just love that little basket with it looks like embroidery on it!!!!!
Julie you are so blessed you have an amazing imagination And I just love watching your show I wish you could do more of them I know you're busy But God-bless thank you
I’m glad you said it was a clean thrift store because just the door when you opened it looked like it needed a good cleaning, and when you first went in. Sorry I’m Miss Negative Nellie but the bedspread looked bad…glad you got it a little cheaper. Maybe oxy or dawn dish detergent!
HAPPY FRIDAY Julie, family, and fur babies. Thanks so much for the Mother's day Ideas. BTW Julie, I called the corporate number at Goodwill and of course there was no answer. I started reading reviews and people from all over America are complaining about Goodwill and their prices. Not to mention how no one is available to listen to any concerns. They were complaining about how rude the workers "managers" are in the different stores. Make a paste of baking soda, little blue dawn, and a little peroxide; smear on stain and then wash.
Thanks for cute teacup ideas!! Your candle looks so cute and farmhouse !! Love your giveaway!! Thanks!!
Is so rewarding when the stains disappeared, I got me a beautiful vintage white tablecloth with a big stain , some people will pass on linen but like you said what I will lose if doesn’t come out! But it did! Otherwise I will fold it and decorate with it . Thank you for sharing your decorating ideas. I love all your finds.
What did you use to get the stain out? I have a similar problem with a vintage tablecloth.... and am not sure what to use.
@@janallardyce1234 oxiclean ! I left it overnight! Sometimes I just just bleach and warm water! Good luck!
Loved your haul as always ❤️ such great ideas…you come up with the best.
I have seen coffee cup wreaths before made with vintage cups-I really want to make one. Probably there are versions on Pinterest. Loved your teacup ideas too. I always enjoy your videos!
Love the comforter set , and to be honest I could hardly see the remaining stain on it , fantastic bargain! Oh yes please, I would love to be entered into your giveaway Julie . I love the idea with the teacup candles too . Have a wonderful weekend Julie & Family x
Dawn dish soap. Squirt on the stain and throw in the washing machine. Be sure to hang to dry. If you out in the dryer the stain will set
Hey Julie go yo tractor supply and get the horses pellets to use as cat liter only takes a small amount, and it really counts down on smell and not as messy.
I Always look forward to your ideas and videos. I used your idea of the small jewelry box as a riser.
OxiClean MaxForce gel is the bomb for tough stains. I apply liberally and soak overnight in washing machine with All Free n Clear detergent. I also have been told that Cruc Cutter will remove anything.
Hi Julie, love your channel! You’ve motivated me to get up and get back into thrifting and decorating my home again after my stroke. Please enter me in your giveaways. Hugs from Tennessee!
Hope you are on the mend. !!
Try one cup of dishwasher detergent, the powdered type and 1 cup of dry bleach for colored clothes. Add to hot water in your washer and soak overnight. Washes as usual.
I’ve use this on antique linens with really good luck
This might sound crazy but if you ever get tired of buying cat litter try some cedar hamster bed shavings. I get a big bag of it at Walmart and combine it with sawdust shavings and you never have to smell the litter again. I have two cats and I have been doing this for almost a year. It's a total game changer lol
I went to my small town Goodwill today.
Think about it in the buggy. I kept hearing you say that.
I found some great treasures.
Your an amazing person ❤
Oh I forgot to mention.
Kiwanis sells all books 📚 for $.15. OMG. 😮
❤ the ideas you share with us! Give aways are wonderful 😊
That colander is cute! I may have a couple in my stash!! The teacup candles are so cute.
Spray the stain with LA’s Awesome spray from the dollar store! I’ve gotten out 100% of set in stains from thrift store items using it. Allow it to sit but not dry on there. Then throw it in the washing machine. Works like a charm!
That looks super! I am always stepping on scattered cat liter!
I've had good luck with the Oxiclean stick stain remover, rub it in and let it sit a few days before washing.
Love to watch your show , great decorating ideals .
Shout has been good for me overcyhe years. Gets stains out. I let it soak in for a few days on tough stains. Shout always wins. 😎 Fun video to watch-thank you!
Thanks so much for the ideas, I'm in tx too 😊
Love that comforter!!!❤
I wished I’d been getting your vlogs sooner as I just found you not long ago😢.. I’d loved the basket, cookbook etc.. ducks so cute!! Anyways hopefully if you do another I can get in on it!!??❤ Thank you so much!! Wanda in Tn.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You can also use the teacups and saucers and make bird feeders.
Julie try Dawn dish soap on the bad stains then also baking soda in the water. Really works for me. Have a nice day. Kime
Great video as usual, Julie. Great ideas for gifts to make too. I would love to be entered into the Mother’s Day giveaway. Very thoughtful of you to do that.
I like the bedspread you thrifted you got a good deal on it.
I love the stacked tea cups, so adorable! ❤
