Stevie could have been a great country artist. However, that gorgeous vibrato, growl, huskiness and sweetness translated very nicely as rock when teamed up with a trio of British blues aficionados.. so ladies and gentleman’s...
Jacob Corder but it was recorded around 1974 for the 2nd Buckingham Nicks album. Same with Sorcerer, Garbo, Without You and Cathouse Blues.....oh and Goldfish & The Ladybug and Candlebright.
Man Stevie's voice was amazing!!!! I'm a big Mirage fan. After Stevie wrote this song Lindsay responded with a song called Book of Love. They really brought the best out of each other
this version sounds like the middle ground between the 'alternate take' (which i assume is the demo version) released as a bonus track on the 2016 reissue and the final album version. the alternate take sounds like lindsey (couple guitars) and stevie (one vocal) doing the first pass. This version sounds like the beginnings of adapting it to the full band, with the new feel and vocal harmonies in their infancy. You can also hear the 'feel' of the final album version in this one as well.
This proves yet again how deeply influential the West Coast Seventies Rock groove of FM and Eagles to name just two Supergroups was and still is to the very existence of Country & Western Music.🤔🎤💃🦅🎼🎵🎶🎸🎹🎻🥁B.W.
The Fonz no deluxe...not because of Stevie or Lindsey. It's the fault of the musicians on the unreleased Buckingham Nicks II album. They demanded a ton of royalties for their parts and in the end it was a canned idea.
The Fonz we may never hear Rhiannon from that...or Sorcerer. Other songs could possibly be Heartbreaker (Circles In Time), You Won't Forget Me, I Don't Want To Know, Monday Morning... just to name a few.
Wow! 1971? Her grandfather was a country & western musician...he used to take Stevie at age 4 to the bar where he played, and she'd sing along to him, while standing on the bar. Where did you find this?
Both of these answers aren't helpful. I have this on vinyl on a bootleg titled Almanac. It also can be found on bootleg cd copies of the Buckingham Nicks LP. This was from some demos that were stolen from Stevie in the 70s
@NicksandSlick oh man wouldn't it be nice if she would do this? lots of the set is from her new album but i wish she would dig out these old Fleetwood Mac gems. she was stunning in the 70s and very early 80s. i'm sure your show will be wonderful. have fun.
This track is not on the Buckingham Nicks Album. There are many unreleased recordings by these 2 that would make a great compilation CD. Also I have read that they are thinking of releasing the BN record on CD this year sometime
It is available on CD. There are copies for sale on Fleabay right now. As for me, I just burned a copy of my signed Buckingham Nicks record to CD. It is the only time it has, and probably ever will be played.
just bc it has a copyright date doesn't mean that is when it was written or demo'd. SINCE Mirage was recorded in 1981 and released in 1982, it is highly unlikely it was ever written in 1982. Like most of Nicks' stuff - it was probably a decade old.
All hair was bad in the 80s, Stevies was dreadful, hahaha. She was SOOOO beautiful in the mid 70s i am seeing her on saturday night in Melbourne, Australia. I hope she does this song. It was the first song of hers that i ever got into, ive been a huge fan ever since
R grant on a vinyl bootleg titled Almanac. It also can be found on bootleg cd copies of the Buckingham Nicks LP. This was from some demos that were stolen from Stevie in the 70s
Keely Schafer All I know is that it's from a 1976 performance of Rhiannon, which can be easily found here on youtube if you search for it but I don't know where it took place. Hope you found out or that this leads you closer to an answer!
Stevie could have been a great country artist. However, that gorgeous vibrato, growl, huskiness and sweetness translated very nicely as rock when teamed up with a trio of British blues aficionados.. so ladies and gentleman’s...
My 7 month old granddaughter smiles every time this song starts. My future Stevie fan ❤
This IS a great old song! Shows Lindsey s Country picking abilities, and Stevie's velvety Vox wraps around it perfectly! Love IT!
This song is my all time favourite stevie song. What a fantastic version of a timeless classic
In high school i did join the official stevie nicks fan club... this was on the CASSETTE I received. It was called Designs of Love... ❤️
This is my favorite version of this song
She wrote this song in 1971 (for those wondering how old the song is)!
Jacob Corder but it was recorded around 1974 for the 2nd Buckingham Nicks album. Same with Sorcerer, Garbo, Without You and Cathouse Blues.....oh and Goldfish & The Ladybug and Candlebright.
Wow

Stevie wrote this in 1971. Lindsey’s “Book of Love” wasn’t written back then.
Had no idea this song was that old. Stevie needs to release a country themed album.
I've never heard this version before now. I think it sounds better than the version put on Mirage. This song has a very comforting, homey vibe to it.
Mountain music 😊
Es mejor la de Mirage ❤
gold dust woman, i just love her so much!

The video of her going totally mental at the beginning really doesn't fit this soft song lol
😂
Glimpses of Silver Springs from '97 in there 💓
Silver Spring es del 76, por cuando lanzaron Rumours ❤

Greetings from Fortaleza, Brazil ❤❤
I love this version thank you for posting this 💖
I wish she would sing this live.....
I fucking love the Mirage album..amazing...stevie and Lindsey had some killer songs
They need to get over themselves and do a deluxe BN remaster with a second disc of this sort of stuff.
The Fonz no deluxe...not because of Stevie or Lindsey. It's the fault of the musicians on the unreleased Buckingham Nicks II album. They demanded a ton of royalties for their parts and in the end it was a canned idea.

No way this is happening! Stevie is done with LB!
@@designstudio8013 And no tour?
Voice & Outfit: Fantastic 👍👍👏👏

Didn't know this version.

what a lovely surprise this was to find.
This is the greatest country song ever.
I love 💕 them to.

Two of the bukinkham nicks album tour '73-'74 concerts (cut short in the south) are out on you tube - bootleg, of course, Tuscaloosa? & Birminham
this is on one of her albums. I used to buy everything, but I do not recall which one. I loved it back in the 80s when I first heard it on her album.
Both of these answers aren't helpful. I have this on vinyl on a bootleg titled Almanac. It also can be found on bootleg cd copies of the Buckingham Nicks LP. This was from some demos that were stolen from Stevie in the 70s
Love this song LOVE
Favourite version.
And so we follow . . .as friends often do . . .
LOVE THIS SONG! iT'S ON THE MIRAGE ALBUM, I THINK. BUT THIS IS A BUCKINGHAM/NICKS TRACK....LOVELY
love the wink and smile at 3:03
I am in Love! Her best song!
As usual another good song and it came from Fleetwood Mac Stevie nicks.
So pretty...I'd love to be able to record the audio.
splendida

Oh SOoooo good~~~

does anyone know what performance the clip at the start is from? it looks epic
it’s the music video for rhiannon (on youtube) but it’s basically just one of the performances it’s super cool
Awesome!
She’s wigging out!!!!!

💞💝💟💜👍trop bien
Stevie nicks.
Yep, that's what I meant about the "technicality". It's legally copyrighted in year "x" but it may be the tenth incarnation.
All hair was bad in the 80s, Stevies was dreadful, hahaha. She was SOOOO beautiful in the mid 70s
i am seeing her on saturday night in Melbourne, Australia. I hope she does this song. It was the first song of hers that i ever got into, ive been a huge fan ever since
I was 5 when you wrote this comment, how was it? Did she end up performing this?
This is not Buckingham Nicks. It can be found on a bootleg cd with the BN LP but this is from demos that were stolen from Stevie in the 70's
Looove this very original version. Anyone know who's the backing vocal is? Im very familiar with Buckingham and Nicks material but who is that?
i think it’s also stevie doing her own backup
It's Stevie. It's obvious
Stevie (on a separate track) on high harmony, and Lindsey on low harmony.
Hard
WHERE CAN I FIND THIS VERSION??
R grant on a vinyl bootleg titled Almanac. It also can be found on bootleg cd copies of the Buckingham Nicks LP. This was from some demos that were stolen from Stevie in the 70s
So I take it that the copyright date of 1982 on my sheet music is only a technicality.
bbraat this song was released during Buckingham Nicks era. early 1970s
What gig is the first clip from?
Keely Schafer I don't know but to this song her frenetic movements are hilarious.
Keely Schafer Rhiannon!
Keely Schafer All I know is that it's from a 1976 performance of Rhiannon, which can be easily found here on youtube if you search for it but I don't know where it took place. Hope you found out or that this leads you closer to an answer!
Keely Schafer I believe it's from the Rosebud documentary. Try searching Rhiannon Rosebud. It's amazing!
Midnight Special 1976....Rhiannon
Bad lip sync lol
Great song. I prefer this version to the one she recorded with Fleetwood Mac.
