I just discovered this channel the other day and I can say this information is very crucial especially to new riders. I own a small cc bike, Bajaj X150. This is my second year have never reached top speed. I comfortably cruise at 60-75kph when there is less traffic.

Thanks Meshack. I just did about 1200km cross country trip on my Tekken 250.
People were making fun of my bike not being able to make over 120KM/hr.
I have never attempted reaching top speed, I cruise at 70-90Km/hr.
I tell them I'll ride at this speed this whole country.

Stay safe and alive. Keep your comfortable speed, enough days are ahead for riding, there is no hurry. Those who want to do 180kph on Kenyan roads can go ahead and do that but they will pay with their life. Kenyan roads are too dangerously both in terms of design other road users and driving behaviour for certain speeds....and once you get involved in an accident, it doesn't matter who was wrong, the fact is that someone may be already dead or maimed. My last accident was not my fault it's a boda guy trying to sneak in between vehicle without looking. I ended up with a damaged shoe, a deep cut on my foot and a sprained foot. Atleast there was no fracture but I was grounded for 2week and even now, my foot has some pain. Avoid accident at all cost even if you have to do 50kph..do it.

Great advice, now I know. My Kibo K160R hits 120 sometimes on red line. But breathes nicely at 80 t0 90km/h

160cc should do 90 properly, beyond 100kph is a disaster...

Any rider who want to keep riding into their sunset years better listen to this very sound advice. Suprises are the major killers of riders.....bumps, foreign obstacle on the road, corners, other riders, vehicles....animals.
I started riding in 2007 unfortunately I have had 4 accidents so far. I started on 100cc Yamaha, then a 125cc Toyo, then a 500cc Benelli TRK, and finally looking at a V strom 1050XT.
Two of the accidents with the Benelli are on my you tube channel. The last accident was the most serious becaue I got hurt serious on my foot. It was not entirely my fault but theblesson is be ready for the worst always.
    Ride safe!

Before even watching the video I can say that the higher the top speed of a bike the higher the cruising speed can get. If my bike's top speed is 265km/h it can comfortably cruise at 170km/h no problems. If its top speed is 200, cruising speed would be something between the range of 120 and 140km/h. Gearing, aerodynamics, fueling maps, ergonomics come also to play.
P.S. The Transalp was never 400cc. It started from 600cc up until today's Transalp which is 750cc. Unless of course you've put a different engine in there.

We have transalp 400, 600, 650, 700 and the new 750, do some research and see

Its would be nice to have a deep scientific understanding of what is injuring our riders everyday
