I came to your channel for the landscape photography 7 years ago when I started photography at 23yo. I am now 30 and have been short listed and highly commended in multiple national photography awards and am in conversations with a global photojournalism magazine about publishing a story. I still enjoy you videos as much as the day I discovered them. the little nuggets you've given out during your videos have helped me so much earn money, get accolades and make many people happy with photos ive taken for them. I know you might not read this but a massive thanks for unknowingly helping my career.

To stop my gear from Fogging up I got a plastic sealed box to fit my damp/wet camera bag into with some reusable silica gel packs.
I also got a large ice cream tub with more silica gel in for the Body alone.
I was having issues when sleeping in the car (with a bed) which gets pretty damp at night with condensation, Works a treat.

Well, I suppose at age 81 I'm one of the oldest subscribers to Thomas Heatons's channel. Don't know how many years it's been but I still look forward to his posts every Wednesday. Although I'm mostly a bird photographer I still look forward to the post peak season for autumn color. One of my most successful images this fall was a small birch stem with the sunlight backlighting the brilliant yellow leaves against a dark background tinged by just a bit of autumn color. You don't always have to have a great mountain vista for an autumn image. I fact, I've come to prefer picking out the bits and pieces of autumn color that remain after most of the leaves have dropped.

Use the small carabiner/hook of the Kase filter holder and hook it through your zipper pull of your jacket. The pull has a hole in it. No need to put the holder with filters down in precarious positions and your filters are always on you! Nick Page loved my idea when I was with him on a photo shoot in Oregon! 4 other participants also copied my idea and Nick ended up taking a shot with his iPhone with us 5 lining up with our filter case dangling from our chest!

I live in the Highlands and have scenery like this literally on my doorstep but it's amazing how often, like you here Thomas, I used to walk miles looking for inspiration and feel frustrated but in reality I have learned to 1) Enjoy the walk, the scenery and fresh air and 2) The scenes really do come to you sometimes, not always where you'd planned. I shoot medium format and accordingly have a more limited selection of focal lengths on any given trek (usually 2 lenses that cover 35mm equivalent of 15mm to 80mm) so I let the scene happen and just try to be there at the right time. This video resonated with me on many levels - especially sodden wet equipment. And I approve of the BFG All Terrains - I have those too. Essential Highland stuff!

Smashing photos Thomas, what I do think though is that you need to take someone with you on your walks or meet up with someone and have a bit of banter but most importantly a bit of company. This last wee while I seem to come away with the feeling that your a bit depressed and not up for going out taking photographs, please get someone to keep you company now and again and gee you up for the photographs your about to get. 😁👍

I've been following you for 5 years :)). Autumn in your area is magical with yellow leaves and you can freely compose photos to create beautiful photos. In my country, Vietnam is a tropical rain zone, so there are very few yellow-leafed trees, and they are not protected, so the proportion of natural forests is small.
