Gutter nests also common here in Florida with the notorious Carolina Wren with tragic consequences. Also in vehicle engine compartments if parked too long in the spring. Z8 on my wish list, will come back to this video when I get one.
Your iso at 800 is a better choice as it’s one of the duel setting on the z 8 . Raw will be a better choice of course but duel censor is prime at 800. And 4000
Another top notch video. I’m going to give that a try. Can I plug a shutter button and use that instead of holding the button on the camera? Thanks again for your knowledge. ❤❤❤
Good. Subscribed on the basis of this video (don't let me down! 😂). Like you I hope for RAW with this setting. Bit sorry not to see a still of the last sequence you took, it looked good - why so shy?
Great video boss straightforward explanation. But I already have far to many shots to wade through at 9 fps. I also recon I could and do get these shots with a prehistoric 850. But my images will of course be raw and at least of equal quality (some say better). The method I use is two eyes open. So the shot is set up and I then go to live view silent mode. Then I use a trigger release and a good old saying from my army days "watch and shoot" Yes on occasions I miss the first shot but hey we have to have something to come back for next time. If I set it to mode 2 I can get 30 fps jpeg! I guess the advantage of the Z9 and 8 is the focusing?
Cheers! Advantage of the Z8/9 is the focus and no blackout of the viewfinder when shooting at high speeds. But in the end it’s whatever works and lets you get the shot, even if it’s with “vintage” tech!
Hi, thx for your demonstration. May I know what tripod and gimbal head you were using in this video? Are they good? Hope you can make a review on that. Thank you.
thanks for watching. Sure - the tripod is a Benro Mach 3 carbon fibre tripod and the gimbal head is the Benro GH5C Carbon Fiber Gimbal head. Both are quite good and very light.
Great video, I wonder what memory card you use. At this moment I use a CF express type B extreme pro 256GB Sandisk card and if I take 20fps raw lossless the buffer starts to stutter within 3 seconds, so I set it now to 12fps and stutter after 8 seconds.
@@gdsmithimages I wonder how many seconds you can shoot in sequence without stutter. I own a Sandisk Extreme Pro CFexpress Type B and when I shoot 20fps raw lossless it's stutter within 3 seconds.
@@57sapke just did a test. In lossless raw, at 20fps it started to skip at around 12 seconds. At 12fps it went to like 40 seconds. I generally shoot in High Efficiency Star, and at both 20fps and 10fps it doesn’t even bat an eye. Would probably never stop until the battery ran out

Wow, never heard of birds nesting in engine compartments. Probably quite cozy and safe I guess.
Thanks for watching!

Very clear explanation of how to set this up.
Excellent, concise real life explanation of using this amazing pre capture software. Thanks for uploading.
Hi @blinsaff. Thanks for the pre capture demo, which I watched with interest as a new Z8 shooter in Melbourne.
Oh nice, you need to give it a try! Thanks for watching

Thanks! I imagine you probably could, I haven't tried it but it should work all the same.

@@gdsmithimages You are absolutely spot on, and sooner or later I will take the plunge and get the Z9 just for the focus system.

excellent...what kind of tripod do you use?

Hm, I stopped at jpg only.
If one uses back button focus will this still work?
Yes, it works exactly the same. 🙂
I didn't realize pre-release doesn't work with RAW :(
Yeah it’s kind of a bummer. Hopefully firmware can fix it
Combine that with auto capture and you could just take a nap while it makes great shots :)
haha that would be dream
@@gdsmithimages u can do it with the Z8 :)
Canon offers in Raw mode . Why Nikon can’t offer.
Even though canon is slower still they're offering in RAW
auto capture is better for your situation
