Lot of people who can match this man. Jussi Björling, Nicolai Gedda, Fritz Wunderlich, Alfredo Kraus, Gigli, Di Stefano. Pavarotti was a master, but he was not the only one
You are delusional and have been fed lies. Pavarotti was and is probably the most popular tenor but only due to timing and the explosion of media. Pavarotti is not even a master compared to many great tenors of the past. Yes Pavarotti was very good but there were better tenors. Not today because good opera singing is dead for all singing types.
A few examples of tenors with superior skill or technique: bjorling, Del Monaco, Corelli, gigli, di stefano, Caruso, tucker, volpi, Schipa

@@stone8193 JDF has the greatest high notes of any tenor that has ever recorded records. JDF and LP are two completely different types of tenors.
@Marie Whitbread Carreras was mediocre at best. Domingo never had a good B# and certainly no C. Di Stefano destroyed his voice before he was 40 and often sang flat. Pavarotti was great. Florez is a bel canto tenor who had the greatest high notes easily up to high D.
