Lois Mawell will always be the real Moneypenny, no one else will play that role as well as she. She was beautiful and charming. Honor Blackman is the only The Avengers girl that I have never seen more than just bits of her episodes. I loved the other 3 Avengers, but Honor was physically stronger and had better fighting skills, I think she was a tough woman by nature. She was gorgeous and is just wonderfull playing Pussy Galore in Goldfinger. She is actually one of the best things in that Bond movie. This interview is a treasure. RIP Honor Blackman RIP Lois Maxwell RIP Guy Hamilton Your Bond movies will be here forever, like diamonds.
This is so great that I think a lot of us doesn´t realise it?! They are so natural and organic. No Botox-filled lips, no Red Bull, no disgusting metal or plastic in their faces, no idiotic tattoes on their necks - etc. Everyone is civil, courteous and polite. They look good. They talk like real people. They don´t go bananas over some sexual innuendo. They seem relaxed. And so forth. More class. More style. Hence; classier people in classier times. Respect!
It's quite telling that you comment on looks first. Even more telling is your archaic view on people with tattoos and piercings (who, I might add, are some of the loveliest people, and they certainly wouldn't take cheap pot shots at others' appearances or choices like some fishwife). Regardless, I'm guessing you're just another "Old man shouts at cloud" type who doesn't have the emotional maturity to show love for something old without also shitting on something new. Next time a doctor with a tattoo or piercing treats you or saves your life, maybe show them some "respect" by loosening your grip on the pearls and re-think your idea of morality.
When this aired in January 1975, The Man With The Golden Gun was the most recent James Bond film in the cinemas then, and there would not be a new James Bond film until 1977 with The Spy Who Loved Me
Janna Watson I know this post is a year but it was unfortunate Honor Blackman passed away April 5th 2020 at age 94 from natural causes but she lived a long life.
Lois is speaking of a _Diamonds are Forever_ infinitely more interesting than the snoozefest that was actually put to film. Harry, Cubby - you should have listened to Lois!
If you haven't seen operation kid brother ( O K Connery) you need to see the film , lois has never looked more beautiful. Watch it with a 1965 mentality, Also the cast has many ex bond performers. Really enjoyable.
As someone else on here has already commented, she both looks and sounds like Julie Andrews. Both of them are very sexy women in a 'Jolly Hockey Sticks' sort of way. I wonder if they are related?
@@Dragonfly-0010 As an US citizen I am sure most of my ancestors had a British accent of sorts. My father's family came from Wales and according to our history came to PA America in 1763.
Guy Hamilton raises the possibility of Bond in a romantic story. Perhaps he was hibernating during “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” In any case, I am so thankful he didn’t direct that one; just his absence enhanced the film greatly! Lois Maxwell’s few days in Portugal were because of Bond’s wedding. (My favourite film of the series!) The film they discuss here, “Man With the Golden Gun,” was one of the worst of all time. Yes, that includes that stupid car stunt - performed to the sound of a slide whistle! Hamilton was truly the most overrated director of the bunch. And the word “overrated” fits “Goldfinger” like a tailoured Savile Row suit!
God, Guy was such a misogynist. That he hired Honor to play perhaps the strongest female of the 60s is so perplexing and a wonderful fluke. "Men are motivators. Women are scenery." Glad Honor was there to force him to admit that women can be just as strong as men.
Lois Maxwell was very bitter when her role was taken over by a younger actress, Caroline Bliss, and was very bitchy about her at the premiere of The Living Daylights.
INCORRECT ! Lois Maxwell retired from the series after A View to A Kill, as she felt she'd look ridiculous pining over a actor 20 years younger than her as Timothy Dalton was. I'm old enough to remember this in an interview she gave back then.

Can't believe that this is 1975. Such an informative and intelligent discussion.
Surbiton Smith people had a much higher standard back then
Thank you yes I agree....
And the host is excellent. Includes everyone and keeps it moving.
Greetings.
Please see my comment above.
Oh how I wish we could go back in time. These days...disaster!
Carry on..sincerely.
I remember back then. We had big snowy weather in parts of America
So glad to come across this discussion, so intelligent, and seeing my favourite women, so smart and beautiful.
RIP Honor Blackman 1925-2020 and Lois Maxwell 1927-2007

Moneypenny!!!
WOW!!
Beautiful Woman!!
Louis Maxwelll THE ONLY MONEYPENNY!!!
Hahaha Honor really took to Sean! 😁
Love Honor Blackman
such beauty, honesty and pure talent.
teenie beenie I would marry her even though she's an old granny now
She looks really good for 93. I don’t think she’s had plastic surgery... natural is best as long as you take care of yourself.
Janna Watson I know this post is a year but it was unfortunate Honor Blackman passed away April 5th 2020 at age 94 from natural causes but she lived a long life.
For just a second, I thought it was Julie Andrews doing the interview!
So did I at first. She even talks like her. They could be sisters.
funny so did I. thought I was the only one

Lois is a total babe.

Great spoof, especially starring Neil Connery.
❤moneypenny
Mary Parkinson is the interviewer, Michael's wife.
As someone else on here has already commented, she both looks and sounds like Julie Andrews. Both of them are very sexy women in a 'Jolly Hockey Sticks' sort of way. I wonder if they are related?
I like the way guy talk , hilarious
MWTGG was an enjoyable picture. Goldfinger a masterpiece. But Hamiltons DAF was a disappointment.
LALD is okay , good action and Seymour/Kotto were wonderful
Hamilton wasn’t a good Bond director. He wasn’t a nice man anyhow. Lewis Gilbert was excellent.
@@MrDavey2010 Agreed, never liked Hamilton's Bond movies, although he made up for it slightly with Remo Williams.
Great, I can't wait to see the car flipping over in the new film!
Media interviewer does not listen - Guy told you it was one take - typical reporter. They have their opinion/internal bias and never learn.
♥
Moneypenny is not English but Canadian, yet she is speaking with an English accent. That is a bit odd.
Garley- The boxer Lennox Lewis was born in London but grew up in Canada and he has an unusual accent.
To me it sounded Transatlantic, she was very well spoken. The best Moneypenny for Bond :)
Well she's not an Inuit and she doesn't have a French surname so of course she's English. Unless she's Scottish, Welsh or Irish.
Correction, the character is English, the actress is (was) Canadian.

Is the interviewer Mrs. Michael Parkinson ???? on pebill mill
Yes, this is Mary Parkinson, who in 1983 would join her husband to host the weekend shows of the ITV breakfast franchise TV-am

Too bad EON Wilson and Babs Broccoli no longer care nor respect Fleming’s creation.
And "The Man with the Golden Gun" is a movie that "respects Fleming's creation"?!
@@lukasnummer1 At least it has the proper gun barrell in the start of the film as in every Bond film until Daniel Craig's...
@@eurasiangamer3807
That's about the only "proper" thing about this film.

That's a naive opinion, Janna.
Is that Esther Rancid?!

David Topchiev delicately put!

Guy Hamilton looks quite snobby
He's English for what it's worth.
I was lucky to meet Guy Hamilton at a signing years ago, he was lovely and full of the most amazing stories
