Hell yeah, I'd rock it. This did remind me of the guitar I keep harping on you to review/obtain. The 2018 Les Paul HPII. I have finally faced facts that it ain't happening. And I don't get any feedback from Troggs ( I know Troggly is a little busy right now so I understand with a third child - (that is soon to be rocker))
I like this guitar a lot, but not in love with the center panel. Even the Les Paul HPII 2018 doesn't have that big of a monstrosity in the back I don't have 6K, but if I did...I'd grab it up.
I think you can browse the Gibson-website by yourself? The Dave Amato Les Paul Axcess Standard has all these features, the backside of the headstock looks exactly like the one in the video, it has the Floyd Rose, the all access neck joint and so on. It's a current official Gibson model. The only thing missing is the quilty maple top.
Edit: looks like I've got a problem browsing the Gibson website! There is also the Les Paul Axcess Standard Floyd Rose Gloss and the Axcess Custom w/ ebony fingerboard Floyd Rose Gloss. So this is probably simply a custom order with a quilted maple top and this custum finish.
I think it needs to be a good cherry sunburst with cream binding all the way around front and back two four wire double creams each with its own 3 way switch

@@frosty6845 good question...I'm not sure. Rush doesnt play anymore as a band since Perth doesnt want to drum anymore. So theres not many opportunities to see Alex out with a guitar to know.

IMO orange burst is one of the best colors to show off quilted maple,it seems to really bring the contrast. And just think with a locking nut it might stay in tune.
I’d you think this is cool, you should check out the Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess, it’s got a piezo and a sort of stereo jack with all sorts of tones! You should try to get one on the show

Lol, dude that wasn't a piezoelectric system, that was a Roland Gk pickup. The guy I used to be in a band with used one with a vg88 guitar synth. This was around 2004 or so and he really got some great sounds with it. The 12 string patch was unbelievable.
Yeah, modern Piezo pickups are usually part of the bridge assembly, you can't even tell they are there except for a single small wire!
I have one of these and it's the best LP I've ever owned. Mines in olive drab green to make it even cooler! Plus the tone controls have coil taps btw. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Burny guitars did a model called the RLC-85s, which is basically a Les Paul Axcess without the heal joint, and it had sustainer pickups. They sell between $850-$1,200. They're really cool

@@alabamahebrew nah, I'm young but I've been playing guitar for close to 10 years, I'm just not a fan of Gibson, but i like this one cause of the top and the comfort carve, and the floyd is something that i would like to try on a LP, most of my guitars are Kiesels and Ibanes
@@FrankSkywalker OK man that's fine, since you said what kind of guitars you like I assume you are more of a shredder type? You are the exact kind of person I commented about the other day that Gibson needs to try and draw into their product line. Younger (age wise) players who want more of the shape of the shred style guitars and not the more bulky looking Gibson's. See, I'm just the opposite from you. I think the Gibson's look elegant and royal because I am not a shredder type so those other guitars have little appeal to me, I'm 54 too lol. I have an Ibanez Iceman and I absolutely LOVE it and wish I could find a Les Paul with that neck!!! But the Iceman has a larger body, similar to an explorer, most of the shred type guitars have smaller bodies and are really light weight and for some reason that just does not appeal to me. I see GIbson has a few models with a Floyd Rose on it but of course, typical for Gibson, they are really expensive. I was saying that I think Gibson should focus on players like you and come up with a couple of smaller, lighter more shred friendly new models AND NOT charge thousands of dollars for them! Build a decent guitar that is comparable to the Ibanez's and other typical shred makers and keep that price down. If a guy like you started buying those types of guitars I guarantee you eventually you would want maybe a regular Les Paul or an ES style as you get older and your tastes change in music and playing style. This then introduces a whole new fan/buyer base into the Gibson family. But nope, Gibson just keeps inventing newer, more expensive models of the same lineup they have had since the 50's lol.

I would absolutely rock this guitar. I would put it right next to my 2017 LesPaul HP in Faded Cherry, and my 1972 Les Paul custom in tobacco sunburst.

I would like an SG kitted out like this. You can buy weird Floyd Rose kits that just replace the bridge on an SG without any drilling whatsoever. They just slot on the posts. Pretty cool.

I would rock that. Have a 2014 les paul traditional with a floyd rose dessert burst very awesome guitar but none of the modern features of that custom les paul.

Not sure I like it. A bit too "fancy" for my taste, but yes...it's unique, in a pretty color and has an attractive piece of maple on top. Somebody will snatch this up.

I have an LTD EC-1000, with a Floyd, complete abalone binding and a flame maple top.
This guitar very much reminds me of some Hamer guitars from the 80's and 90's, which had a strong Gibson influence but also often a Floyd Rose or Kahler on board; I once had their Steve Stevens model, ultimately a Gibson Melody Maker with H-S-S pick-up configuration and a Floyd Rose, similar headstock to the Victory series. :-)
Alex Lifeson had an almost identical Signature Axcess Les Paul, Floyd and all, just with a flame top instead of a quilt top. It also had a Piezo bridge as well. I was a bit surprised you didn't mention it!

I got a 2019 LP Axcess Custom without a Floyd Rose. It’s also got a slightly thinner body than a traditional LP and coil splits on the time controls. Best guitar I’ve ever owned by far. It’s the perfect balance of a slightly refined model that should just be a part of their standard offering. IMHO...

*There is a Gary Kahler, but there was no “shred-off” to the best of my knowledge. At least, publicly - maybe they Rocky III’d in private. ;-)
In 50 years, I wonder how many people will associate EVH with the brand, and not the guitarist.
Minor quibble: The Roland GK is not a piezo system. The hex pickup is still a magnetic pickup. A piezo system would be something like GraphTech's Ghost saddles (which would of course be a lot less visually intrusive :D ).

One of my dream guitars is a white les Paul customs with a hardtail and all access neck joint.
From what I understand, Gibson owns Kramer, and they’re doing ultra modern LP there. Especially the Floyd versions.
I just had a look at the Kramer website and yeah they're metal modern Les Pauls, but they're not the same shape, they're just like ESP single cuts. But they're cool though anyway. Some of these "les pauls" have maple fretboards which is awesome, you never see Gibson les Pauls with maple fretboards and I do love then for how they look and play, they're so smooth. Ah if only I had the money to buy something like a kramer or an ESP. The problem is I'd wanna immediately change the pickups out for something vintage sounding like Dimarzio PAFs, so that'd be an added cost on top right there, although I could sell the pickups on ebay or something I guess and make some money back

Collings has sold a gaggle of tops like that. I've bought two CL deluxe guitars used for an average of about $3300. The difference is that the rest of the guitar is made better than anything that gibson has ever made.

Oh yes! I'm a Les Paul guy and I can get down with the Floyd rose on a Les Paul. I have a Kramer Les Paul style guitar with a Floyd rose that I really like so to have the Gibson scale length with a Floyd Rose would be a treat
Finally a Les Paul I'd actually play. I'm not a fan of tuneomatic bridges and I don't like Gibson at all but this Les Paul is finally a Gibson I would play
I'm really digging the top.and I love the neck heel joint also the belly cut.the heel is very nice .I got smaller hands and it's hard to reach the lowest frets so that would help tremendously.leave the Floyd Rose to my super strats though

Absolutely love it! I’m primarily a Bassist who would rarely use a floyd, but if I were going to purchase a new-to-me LP I’d very much want the Axcess neck joint, Apex headstock volute, locking tuners (with a TOM) and coil splits/phase options. Basically the Rhino shown in the review. But as the wife “just” okayed our 2011 Classic Custom, I’m certainly not asking for another anytime soon... ;-)

HK Guitar It’s already been 20 years, and I can’t even use the generic “my wife doesn’t let me get fun stuff!” trope as my collection of Basses has reached ridiculous levels, as well as getting me a fully custom Mike Lull for my 40th birthday. She’s also a musician/lover of music so she understands me when I’ve said “I could really use a 5-string fretless, and this is a great deal on one”.
Mainly, it’s that I’m nowhere good enough a guitarist to warrant *another* Les Paul, and even then I also have several PRS SEs that are fantastically modded (locking tuners, TUSQ nuts and bridge saddles, several have replacement pups). I’m attempting to get better, though, and when I do I hope there’s a Vivian Campbell Sig. model available for me! ;-)

While that might be interesting I don't thin Austin really gets into that kind of stuff too much. We have to remember that Austin is not your typical You Tube Guitar guy, he is basically just a guy who buys and sells guitars and decided to start doing reviews on them and it sort of spiraled from there, but in the end it all comes down to he is basically a buyer/seller of used and vintage guitars leaning heavily just to the Gibson side of it. He is trying to branch out into other brands, which is a smart move.

If they made this a 24 fret, I totally would. It pairs nice with the bass I have also, plus I like the feel of LPs except for the stuff that this guitar fixes

I don’t think they should make a different case for metal guitars! My Black Hw on black LP custom has the same case, and I think the purple pops it more when it’s laying inside, and the brown is like a beautiful understatement! Like a wolf in a sheeps skin!

For some one who deals with a bunch of guitars, it's amazing to me the blatant errors and mild ignorance of the subject that is displayed..
Love the top and color on that thing. I love the higher fret acsess on that (I guess that's where the model name comes from) but I'm just not digging the floyd. Swap that for a tune omatic with a string through and that thing would be killer. (I own two floyd guitars and both are more headache then there worth really)
I spent my money on the @ hP 2019 gibson faded seafoamgreen but it is no longer in sell. Did I wasted myself or do I keep fortune in my hands, please someone tell me!#$$?

When these came out everyone hated them because "you're not supposed to put a Floyd rose on a Les Paul." I always thought they were cool, but I don't know how to use a floating bridge (even though I know how to set it up).
Just change the colour and it's perfect! Not a Les Paul guy at all but holy crap would I play the heck out of this one

I’ll love to rock it with an ABR-1 and tailpiece. Never been a fan of trem systems.
But the trem is finally a try from Gibson to go with time. This traditional Nonsens about Gibson just doesn't seem necessary, I mean 50s? We're in 2020 soon so who cares about the 50s? With this guitar Gibson has finally find its way into a market that's actually there. But yeah have fun being stuck with baseball bat's as guitar necks and bridges that don't stay in tune, I'll stick to my Ibanez which is actually a modern guitar
DJ Slinus good for you buddy! There is always something for everybody, I stay with a guitar I feel comfortable with. I love the big neck and I never have had tuning problems with my les Paul. I like my guitar to be heavy and sexy so, who cares if you drive a belair or a Tesla, all that matters is getting from A to B. I will do it with style and loving everything about my ride.
