    Thank you for your video! Takes a lot of strength and courage to put yourself out there like this. I'm going through some stuff with the VA Hospital, and have been since 2013. Started with getting swollen lymph nodes all over my body.. (they're still there, haven't gone down in size.. pea sized to nickle sized). I had a lymph node biopsy in the summer of 2013. I didn't know i had swelling in my armpits too, so they took from there. It came back negative for lymphoma... I got tested for everything else since then.. all types of blood tests for all those rare diseases lol... I have had very low platelets (below normal.. around 110k roughly.. also i had a swollen spleen, which comes back every couple months... I'm not sure what it could be. I used to be a medic in the Navy, so i try to self diagnose.. i'm thinking it could possibly be Leukemia.... but since the lymph node biopsy came back negative 2 years ago for cancer... does that mean i definitely don't have leukemia? Just confused.. and doctors immediately thought that i merely had mono... (which i don't) Anywho!

    Thanks for your story it really does make a difference!
    I had melanoma two years ago really bad on my back in three areas. Largest was 7” oval they cut out, I think 1-1/2” deep on the waist line. Itched all the time but never had a second thought because I couldn’t see it. Two lymph nodes removed from right armpit and two from groin- one on each side. Nodes were clear but would like to give credit to God as I prayed hard the day before surgery.
    Reason for leaving a comment is to thank you for sharing but mostly was hoping someone would chime in to add a suggestion. I know the listing is 8 years ago but was led to do this.
    After surgery I recovered quickly and was back working doing physical stuff around the yard. January was surgery February was starting to be more physical then a mountain of symptoms: always cold, night sweats, left hand shaking, very weak, always tired- mostly napping most of the day, cognitive issues, very forgetful, stomach and chest pain, body pain all over, when bending over to put on shoes or pet an animal I have trouble catching my breath,hissing 24/7 in left ear, frequent headaches, lump in neck ( 3 doctors didn’t notice it but said it was fine). Been to emergency for 9 hrs with everything they could test including blood - perfectly healthy all normal. This was July 2020. Still having all symptoms BUT... now my throat is sore where lump is, hurts to swallow, ear pain when swallowing on same side, jaw pain just started on same side. Throat has been sore for 3 weeks now.
    Went to dentist last week and took antibiotics before that to have wisdom tooth removed that was impacted on opposite side of lump. Just went to the doctor - did blood work of everything now blood results are all over in bad range. Waiting to get another scan. Scheduled neurologist since they take a while to schedule. Lump on neck is size of filbert nut and is hard not soft.
    Any suggestions. Never smoked or did drugs. I don’t drink, I eat healthy- I am now overweight but not fat. Lot of muscle mass. I am always positive,not an angry person, spiritual, outgoing, not stressed or depressed just looking for suggestions and thoughts even an answer if you got on. 😊🙏❤️
    Many blessings, Gary

    Hope you are doing better. I'm a guy, 49 that had it in 1986. Treated much different back then. Spleen and many lymph nodes removed, full mantle cobalt radiation. The long term effects of that has been crazy. Thyroid was destroyed, heart and lung issues galore, 11 stents and 5 bypass, lots of fatigue, etc. what they do these days is so much more gentle. It's sucks having the diagnosis but a long life is very possible. Hopefully they will get everything cured and wish you a long life.

Will find out in one week - Monday, October 4. Here's a weird question for you - did you notice (or in hind-sight realize) that your taste buds were affected? All my favorite drinks and some of my fav. foods all taste different. I have always been a sweet-iced-tea gal (yes, I;m from the South) but lately my tea tastes weird. Did you experience this?? • @Gonkulator88
      @Gonkulator88 9 лет назад +5

      I would have it removed - my nodes were enlarged and discolored, but biopsy found it was because of my hip Implant ( I had to have a new hip joint five years ago) - they found fragments of metal in my lymph nodes - seems my body is trying to rid itself of the "foreign object" - no signs of lymphoma! YEAH!!

    I have a hard lump below my left ear near the top of my jar line. It's hard fixed and immobile. Painless it just feels like pressure and numbness on my neck and face. When moving my head it feels like I have something attached to my neck. The lump is larger than a grape under the skin. I went for an ultrasound the lump was diagnosed as a swollen lymph node. Months after I went to the ENT again diagnosed as a swollen lymph node. No investigations or tests wore offered at that time by the ENT. The lump is still there hasn't decreased in size. The doctors won't even check for any changes from that time period. It's been over a year now. I have had other symptoms along the way, but I don't know where else to go to get a second opinion. Recently I have had a much smaller node appear on the left side of my neck.

    Thank you for the info. I recently discovered swelling on my right side collar bone and a swelling under my left collar bone. I have no medical insurance. Am hoping my disability goes through as I no longer work due to other health conditions. I just also got out of a relationship with a narcissist so my life is a bit hard right now. My dad has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and I'M be inherited most of his health issues. So Im worried and waiting for something good to happen so I can go see a Dr. Trying not to freak out. 🙁🙂

    My lump looks like this and I see my doctor tomorrow. Thank you so much for this video. I hope they don't gaslight me. I went last week with swallowing difficulties, itching fatigue etc and was told it was long covid. I was too scared to bring up the lump because he was dismissive. Getting a second opinion. Feel so stupid for not bringing it up.

    • @ChelseaBurnell
      @ChelseaBurnell  2 месяца назад

      Never ever feel stupid, you were overwhelmed not stupid. You are getting it looked at now and hoping for good news for you. It's so scary to have to even think about it. The symptoms are "vague" at the time as you slowly experience them but together with a lump it forces you to take it more seriously. Really glad you are. 🙂

    I'm sorry you're going through this. I had Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2008 and after chemo and radiation, I am in remission. I then had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2016. Again, after chemo, I'm in remission. I wish you well.

I have had a 101 fever for a month, along with severe flushing and fatigue. Having ct scan next Thursday. Did you have yours removed and biopsy ? Did you have coughing with your's

    hello there thank u for the video for me these type of videos were important for me more than talking with my doctors iam a non hodjkin's lymphoma survivor , this is type of cancer is easy to beat it in it's early stage , so if u or anyone have a mass diagonsed as enlarge lymph node and it didn't return to it's normal size with medications u should remove and analyse it even u were in good health and ur health and blood remarkables were perfect , don't waste ur time plz

    • @Tidaltwist
      @Tidaltwist 5 лет назад

      Hello Maged, I suppose in your case it didn't show any symptoms other than the persistent lymph node and you were able to detect it in its early stages?

    Thank you for sharing this. I know the scared state you were in when you weren't getting answers. I'm glad you showed this because it is very hard to be looking at pictures and diagrams online & guessing just what size is abnormal... and by Google's auto-complete guesses you can tell these things are very commonly searched for. I'm sorry for your unfortunate news. I don't know a lot about lymphoma yet, but I really hope you have the best outcome possible with treatment options & support.

    My lymph node under my left jaw has gotten massive 5cm or so. They just did the ultrasound guided biopsy and took two core samples. Now I wait for the results. You're right, they don't say anything to you. The color drains out of the nurses and staff and the refer you to the next steps. My grandmother died of Hodgkin's so I suppose it's in the genes. Good luck to you on your journey.

    I have the same lump. My lymph node was 1.8cm with central necrosis. There is no pain though, so that part is different from yours. I just had a biopsy 3 days ago. My post-op appt is the 20th. Really nervous, but I'm trying to stay positive. The incision is like 2-2 1/2 inches long and hurts like crazy. I pray you're doing well. I see this was from 10 years ago.

      @interrupted9671 turned out I was lied to. I didn't have central necrosis "thankfully" but my post-opt appt is tomorrow and I want answers. Central necrosis doesn't just disappear.

    • @Cassie27200383
      @Cassie27200383 6 месяцев назад

      @interrupted9671 also it was 2.5cm but that's a common mistake. Saying I had central necrosis isn't.

    Interesting that you had mono 5 years earlier as 40% of lymphoma cases are linked to prior EBV infection, I've seen a study that stated a mean onset of 4 years after EBV infection. Of course most people have had EBV in their life and don't get lymphoma though. I hope you are doing okay, you have a lovely character.

    Thank you for saying they thought you had mono. I haven't seen anyone say anything like that, and that's what my doctor said and my parents wouldn't believe me and wouldn't listen when I got more and when i got a rash. The techs for my ultrasounds were surprised by how many I had. So I don't know what to do :(

    I have had a very tiny ball under the skin of my armpit now for around a year or so. Recently I have noticed that it has grown to about the size of a pea. It does not hurt and I cant move it. I can squeeze it and really it just feels like a little hard ball. I do have a dr apt in a week, but to be honest I wish it was tomorrow. Do you think I am worrying over nothing or actually have a reason to be a little concerned. If anyone has experienced anything like this please tell me your story. thanks so much

    • @ChelseaBurnell
      @ChelseaBurnell  9 лет назад

      Coco, you are doing the right thing getting it checked out. If it ends up being nothing, well then great you can move on. If you never had it checked out and it was something more pressing, you'd be kicking yourself. Always trust your gut instincts as I see you are doing. I sometimes think our "worry" is just our gut instincts in action, go with it. Let me know how it all goes :)

    I've been very tired, no energy, night sweats and fatigue. I found a "bump" in the groin area. Several years ago I had MRSA in about the same area, so I decided to go,and see if it was staph, before I started clinical's (currently in nursing school). Well, first of all my BP is elevated, which is NOT normal for me and when examined, the Dr's dx is surgery to have it removed and/or biopsy. I see the surgeon on Thursday. Any advice?

  • @ChelseaBurnell
    @ChelseaBurnell  9 лет назад

    Hi Mike! There is no surgical cure for Hodgkin's. They do however do what is called an excisional biopsy (take a large chunk, not the entire node) to verify if it is Hodgkin's and the subtype. Hope this helps :)

    I am going for an axillary lymph node biopsy tomorrow. I found a mass under my left axilla a day after getting a pneumovax immunization. I watched it for about 10 days then tried a trial of Keflex. No results. Called my PCP who ordered an ultrasound. Multiple enlarged lymph nodes. I saw a surgeon 2 days ago. We’ll see...
