I think in the moment of treatment there is more a sense of necessity and not any thoughts of being heroic. After my treatment people told me how heroic I was, but I never really felt I was heroic. Perhaps from an outsider’s perspective cancer treatment requires a heroic response, which I suppose is fair to say.

Hearing your story makes me feel less anxious. August of this year my husband was diagnosed with primary CNS lymphoma. He was exhibiting some weird behavior before being diagnosed. Hearing about his diagnosis was not an easy thing to hear as I reacted super emotionally while he stayed calm and unaffected. I started googling his diagnosis immediately but the tears just kept pouring down my face. I honestly was a mess at the beginning as compared to currently. My husband just finished his second round of chemo and his symptoms weren’t as bad, except the WBC, RBC and platelets bouncing around. It is extremely difficult for someone going through chemo as there’s a lot of side effects. Remaining positive throughout treatment is key I would say for anyone who has a love one going through chemo. My husband positivity is so inspiring and so are those going through chemo. I will continue to pray for those who are fighting cancer as it is not an easy battle. God bless you all ❤

I just discovered that I have stage 4. None of my family members bothered to wonder the cause of my lumps which are all over my body (crotch, legs, arms, neck, at least 50 of them) but I did a deep research and I check all the boxes. Your video helped me see the horizon and what to expect and how to take up space.

Had intensive chemo and radiotherapy as well as turkey tail mushrooms and cbd oil which I got the go ahead for from my consultant. I'm sure they helped me and the oncology team were amazed with the progress of my recovery.

She is such a beautiful soul.
My mother had non-hodgkins. I moved in with her to care for her through it. She was stage 4 and they gave her no chance of survival. She told the doctors that it wasn't her time to go so to figure out a plan. Lol After 6 months she was cancer-free, and she has now been 5 years in remission.

I had stage 3 non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I had a lump on my neck. I thought it was an ingrown hair. I was really sick for 11 days and so I finally went in. They did blood work and the next morning the urgent care called and said that I needed to go into the hospital so I went into the ER and they did blood work and came back and told me that I had cancer. I’m not in remission yet but I am cancer free. I did the r-chop too. I lost my hair after my first treatment. I went through treatment from August to December. My hair is back, but it’s starting to look better. My hair is very curly. I wear headbands

Cold sweats, hot shivers, no get up n go, no energy to spare or stamina
Lack of sleep, itchy skin, can be overwhelming, you put on a brave face for the family
Stomach bloated and flatulence, without any influence, you fart and you burp uncontrollably
Out of breath and tired, in a world of your own, thinking how to keep hold of your sanity
It's so surreal, these things that you feel, and friends will show their true colours
The ones that you love, will be there for your good, and treat you like they are your mothers
Loved ones are worried, is this the end, of the one they love so dearly
The fight is on, the battle begins, the future no longer viewed clearly
It's just the start, it will take time, test your strength and mental ability
At times you may need, to be alone and daydream, finding solace in your own tranquility
Your physical strength will pull you through, although it will be diminished
Stay mentally strong, for however long, it takes until it's finished
The treatment is hard, makes you feel bad, but it's eatng away at the issue
Immune system suffers, take care where you go, avoid anyone with a sniffle and tissue
And in the end you'll find, your own peace of mind, as your progress is shared periodically
The therapy is working, destroying not shirking, eating the problem methodically

My oncologist has nurses that informed me and a family member of all the process, the things that you might feel, things that could happen during the process, like constipation...ughhh. The hair falling, weakness and also put everything for me in writing. A Medport was placed, it helps. Also I looked up about the disease. Weakness, bad moods, falling, little or no appetite. The first thing I did was put all of this strange disease in God's hands, and even though it was a terrible experience, God had control. Just a few tips: For constipation: Mineral Oil. When your hair falls off, get satin bed sheets and pillow cases , they are much more comfortable. For loss of appetite, get a nutritionist who specializes in cancer patients. Lots of ensure, shakes made of every green fruit or vegetable you can eat. And of course, Place your soul in God's hands. 😀

R-EPOCH sounds pretty harsh. My own regiment was Maxi-R-CHOP one day in the out-patient infusion room and three weeks later, it’s high-dose cytarabine in the hospital for two nights. I read that the dose adjusted regimens are not better than the “bolus” regime where they bring you five bags one after the other and then you can go home.

Just to help people who may be going through this, I've had it twice, in the early stages a chest x ray and a blood test will not pick up lymphoma, so all clear on those investigations really means nothing. Only the combination of an ultrasound scan and a biopsy will determine it. I'm not trying to be harsh just keeping it real, I know what it's like to have false hope.

I thank god every day I survived ..it was touch and go for awhile ...But ..Its also hard living expecting the cancer to return …..or maybe losing a leg due to lack of blood circulation ...Its scary everyday

Also, let the oncologists adjust the chemo for your body. Just let them do it. Don’t use supplements or essential oils. You need to give chemo the best chance to work without interference.

I’m so scared right now. I (14F) have had a lump in my armpit for about a 1 1/2 (April 2021) and it’s grown A LOT like it’s a full chunk of lymph nodes. I went to the pediatrician and she said it was a swollen lymph node. But now it’s grown so much since April like it feels like a cluster of lymph nodes are swollen. And it feels soft and movable. BUT NOW I HAVE SWOLLEN LYMPH NODES IN MY NECK. Some come in clusters, some are left alone, some are not moveable, some are. There’s one under my jaw the size of a pea a little bit bigger. There’s one on the side of my neck and I feel like it’s growing? Like it feels like it’s attaching to other lymph nodes. I have diarrhea and constipation sometimes but mostly normal poops. Also I’m burping a lot? Like it feels like something’s in my throat like a lump. No sore throat just feels like mucus. ALLERGIES? anywho NO night sweats, fatigue. If I do have cancer I hope it’s Hodgkin Lymphoma. Ty if you made it this far lol sorry I have health anxiety and needed to vent. Gonna force my mom to get me a CT scan and biopsy so if I do have cancer we have it at a small stage. 🥹👊

This is very informative. I currently have most symptoms for lymphoma. I finally found someone who will go forward looking for lymphoma instead of thyroid issues, because I have had a swollen lymph node for 4 years in my neck, FOUR YEARS! AFTER THYROID CANCER! I had thyroid cancer in 2011 so when I say any symptoms my NP Thyroid dose gets raised or lowered. It took my collar bone pain and shooting pain in my arm to get them to listen. It shouldn't have to be like this. The last part of the video is BY FAR the most important. BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE. YOU are the patient, NOT THEM. What you are "supposed to" feel is not always what you will feel.

Jessy, we are so glad this resonated with you! If it helps, Arielle's story is also up on www.thepatientstory.com under non-Hodgkin lymphoma stories. The best to you!

I’m having stage 4 follicular lymphoma on my bone marrow, I’ve been diagnosed in February 20th ,I’ve lost my dad week before and I went to his funeral exactly on my birthday 😞! I’m undergoing treatment with r-chop chemotherapy and I really believe that I can get through this with the help of treatments and faith in God , and I wish all the other people who are suffering of cancer to stay positive 🫶🏻🙏
